### "Repeated Issues, Poor Customer Service and Account Management - would not recommend "

May 1, 2026

1.0

Our overall experience with Access PeopleHR has been frustrating and disappointing. Despite repeated assurances, agreed timelines for an upgrade and training were missed, communication between teams was poor, and escalation to the complaints team led to little meaningful action. Given that similar issues occurred around a year ago, it is concerning to see the same patterns repeated with no evident improvement. Cant comment on Evo Pro upgrade yet as it hasn't happened but old version is limited in functionality.

Pros

It’s difficult to identify strong positives overall, but the AI chat function for support has been improving and is sometimes helpful. The system does allow us to log holiday and sickness and store documents, which covers some basic HR needs.

Cons

Our experience with this platform and the company behind it has been consistently disappointing. We have been operating on a historic version of PeopleHR for quite some time. This version is outdated, has poor functionality, and is generally a difficult system to work with, which made us genuinely look forward to the promised upgrade. Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the upgraded platform itself, as it is still not live and we have not yet received the training that was scheduled as part of the upgrade plan. We signed a contract to upgrade our HR system with agreed timelines, including a clear start date for the upgrade and scheduled training. Those commitments were not met. The upgrade was delayed without adequate explanation, which then delayed training and had a direct impact on our internal project timelines. What makes this particularly frustrating is that this is not the first time we have experienced these issues. We faced very similar problems around a year ago, which were escalated to the complaints team at the time. It is therefore extremely disappointing to see the same issues recurring, with little evidence that any meaningful improvements have been made. Communication has been poor throughout. There appears to be a lack of internal coordination between teams, resulting in conflicting information, repeated explanations on our side, and ongoing confusion about what is actually happening. Even escalation to the complaints team did not lead to improved communication or delivery. A recurring theme has been the significant gap between what is promised and what actually happens. Employees are very good at reassuring you that they are taking ownership, that they are looking into the issue, will be your single point of contact, and will not rest until things are resolved. In reality, actions rarely match those assurances. Once the contract is signed, there appears to be little urgency or accountability in delivering on commitments. Given the business‑critical nature of an HR system, the lack of ownership, follow‑through, and reliable customer support is deeply concerning. Based on our experience over an extended period, we would be very cautious about recommending this company or platform to other organisations

Thanks for taking the time to share this, Robyn. I’m really sorry to hear about your experience, especially the delays, missed upgrade timelines and the impact this has had on your team. I completely understand how frustrating it is when expectations aren’t met, particularly after previous issues were raised. Your feedback on communication, ownership and follow-through is really important, and not the experience we want for our customers. I’d genuinely like to look into this for you and help get things moving in the right direction. Please feel free to reach out to me directly at taryn.schutzler@theaccessgroup.com and I’ll make sure this is picked up as a priority. ### "A very good HRIS"

March 2, 2026

4.0

It's been really good. I've used lots of HRIS over my career and this is one of the better ones. The continued development has meant that we've been able to stay with them rather than out growing them.

Pros

It's constantly been developed and improved. There is a portal for feedback and development requests. It's generally simple to use for HR depts, managers and individuals.

Cons

Some of the newer areas in Evo don't feel as supported, or that there is as much knowledge and guides.

Alternatives considered

[Sage HR](https://www.capterra.com/p/128705/SageHR/)

Reason for choosing Access PeopleHR

Most suited to the needs of this business. It's the first HRIS they've had so needed to have simple to use but be able to build it as they became more used to it. I was a one person HR dept so I it needed to streamline my work.

We’re pleased the system is working well for HR teams, managers and employees alike. We appreciate your comments regarding some of the newer Evo areas and the availability of supporting guidance and resources. ### "Good for small businesses"

February 25, 2026

4.0

Overall the experience is good, there have been updates and issues with the application but you always let us know and fix issues quickly. I would recommend this for small businesses managing a small team or groups of small teams.

Pros

The ease of holiday planning, reporting and employee management makes access people HR an ideal solution for our current needs as a small business.

Cons

There are many features that do not apply and some Americanisms that can not be removed/changed/ restyled to meet our needs unfortunately. There is also a lack of easily downloading time sheets in bulk which is greatly missed.

### "More pro's than con's"

Generally a good platform, could do with more development on reporting and integration rather than UI

Pros

Dashboards are nice, the UI is quite slick and the updates to functionality over the past 18 months have been welcome.

Cons

Reporting is clunky and difficult to adjust, with many of the filters lacking intuition. Sometimes the system kicks you out without warning.

### "disappointed "

February 25, 2026

1.0

very disappointing. use of use is terrible. Confidentiality is compromised. it is not serving our needs and purpose.

Pros

the employee details section is good. recording salary details, storing documents are good and useful. only good thing is \[sensitive content hidden\] (training consultant), is been very helpful and patient answering my queries, but other than him others were not up to the mark.

Cons

Calendar sharing reveals the reasons of absence compromising confidentiality, signature feature is not customisable, creating templates doesn't support copy paste, which loses all formatting, Approval rules are not straight forward. need a lot of time (hours and hours) setting approval rules, and many more that makes it very hard to use. the system is not user friendly at all. recording time off in hours, you can note the hours of absence only as comments. it also took several months for finance to sort the queries with invoices. system keeps triggering emails even after completing the tasks.... so many. reports filters are not easy to figure out. it is completely a missold product. ripple function is not what it was described to be.

### "Falls short of expectations for an HR system"

May 8, 2026

1.0

Overall, our experience has been disappointing. While the system covers basic HR tasks, it falls short in terms of usability, functionality, and support. Processes that should be straightforward are often overly complex, and key features feel underdeveloped. Combined with limited and inconsistent customer support, it has not delivered the efficiency or value we expected from an HR system.

Pros

The new starter and leaver processes are relatively simple to use, with guided steps that make these tasks straightforward. Aside from these basics, there are few features that stand out as particularly strong or beneficial.

Cons

Where do I begin? Customer support: Very disappointing. Communication is minimal unless it’s time to discuss renewal, at which point responsiveness increases significantly. Outside of that, support feels disengaged and unhelpful, which makes resolving issues frustrating. Usability and setup: The system is not user-friendly. Setting up something as fundamental as the appraisal cycle was overly complex and time-consuming, to the point that we reverted to paper-based processes this year. Functionality limitations: Key features feel underdeveloped. The organisational chart, for example, is not interactive and only displays the full company view, making it difficult to navigate and impractical for everyday use. Overall, the system feels clunky and inefficient, and it doesn’t support basic HR processes as well as expected.

### "My people HR Review"

May 1, 2026

5.0

Pros

People HR is a straightforward and reliable HR system that makes everyday tasks simple. The interface is intuitive, so it is easy to navigate and quick to learn, even for new users. Features like employee records, holiday tracking, and reporting work smoothly and save time. The customer support team stands out as particularly responsive, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful whenever questions arise. Implementation is painless, and ongoing use feels efficient rather than complicated. It also offers excellent value for money compared to similar platforms. Overall, People HR is a practical, user friendly solution that supports businesses effectively without unnecessary complexity well.

Cons

People HR is a practical and easy-to-use system that supports everyday HR tasks efficiently. The interface is clear and intuitive, making it simple for teams to manage employee data, holidays, and reports without much training. While the system can occasionally crash, which can be frustrating, these issues are usually resolved quickly. The customer support team is a real strength, as they are responsive, knowledgeable, and always willing to help resolve problems. Despite minor technical hiccups, it still offers good value for money and remains a reliable option for businesses looking for a straightforward HR solution.

### "D for disappointed "

February 25, 2026

2.0

We haven't been listened to and feel our onboarding was rushed and incomplete. We were only able to focus on certain areas

Pros

We were told it would be able to do payroll and also be available in multiple languages and could be a time and attendance system that we could use to run payroll for 24/7 shifts. We were expecting a one stop shop for appraisals, reporting, stats, employee records.

Cons

We aren't able to use the app efficiently or reliably. The training was incomplete and it couldn't do what we were sold in the sales pitch.

### "Something Very Good - Help us get there"

February 25, 2026

3.0

It is good and I know there is a lot of shortcomings our side, but that is due to the HR manager, who first introduces PeopleHR left and handover has not been fantastic so we have not kept abreast with really getting to know the system. Seems to be too complicated to "take stock"

Pros

The possibilities of how the HR function could be managed. We lack the insight to unlock potential.

Cons

It could be a really good system and we thought it would be but after the system was integrated we were left alone, couldn't make contact with anyone for further questions and realised a lot of what we were sold didn't exist. We are looking at putting in a complaint.

Pros

Certain aspects are good ie. the ease of adding changes on paycircle, the link between PeopleHR & Paycircle (although not all data links). The news option is good for notifying staff of updates.

Cons

Unfortunately we are finding that we were sold something different to what we have with the system. The training matrix side is not good and doesn't show the information we want it to, the customer service side is not good, it's impossible to speak to someone and nobody emails back. Lateness is not automatic so those occurrences get missed, overtime is also manual. There's no automatic email notifications to managers for training expiry dates. There is no option to notify staff that a document has been added to their documents unless you click "signature required" but not all documents need a signature. It's just all a lot of work and not user friendly. Our Team Leaders and Managers constantly give poor feedback.

### "Good system"

May 1, 2026

4.0

It gives us a single source of truth for employee data and absence, which has cut down on manual tracking and back-and-forth emails massively. The self-service element frees the HR team up to focus on the more strategic work rather than admin queries.

Pros

Absence and holiday management is genuinely one of the strongest parts of the system — it's straightforward for managers to approve, easy for employees to self-serve, and the visibility we get across the workforce is excellent. The employee records and self-service side has also taken a lot of admin pressure off the HR team; people can update their own details, request time off, and access documents without needing us to intervene. Reporting is another area I lean on heavily — once you've built the reports you need, pulling workforce data for leadership is quick and reliable.

Cons

The interface can be a bit inconsistent. The layout shifts more than I'd expect between updates, and the system displays quite differently depending on whether I'm working from my laptop or my external monitor — menus and buttons don't always sit where I expect them to. It's not a dealbreaker, but it does mean a bit of re-learning every so often.

Thanks for your feedback, Christopher. It’s great to hear how well the absence and holiday management is working for you, along with the visibility it gives across your workforce. It’s also good to know the self-service features are helping reduce admin and allowing your team to focus on more strategic work. We’re pleased reporting is delivering value too, especially once set up, being able to quickly pull reliable data for leadership is key. We appreciate your comments around interface consistency. ### "PeopleHR has a friendly UI and simplifies everyday tasks"

May 1, 2026

5.0

My experience from implementation to every day use is positive, as an administrator i find it easy to change settings. The offering from Access has improved and I look forward to see all of their future changes ahead.

Pros

Setting up People HR including Paycircle were easy tasks, the support during implementation was good and we didn't really have any issues. We've since added Expenses, Rewards and other components of the Access software, which is easily accessible using one button. All support is done via their AI chat tool, you can type in 'chat to a person' to raise a case if need be. I find the system intuitive and it has simplified some of our processes. I particularly find the reporting function easy to use and like how People HR automatically talks to our Payroll software, Paycircle. The mobile app makes it accessible to employees that are on the road and makes it easy to do simple tasks such as booking annual leave. Whilst Ripples can be complicated, once you have worked out how to use them they provide a quick workflow to enable tasks to be automated. I tend to use logbooks very frequently and they have been a staple in tracking employee requests.

Cons

I would like to see an upgrade to the assignments, which we currently use to process overtime. The app is great for employees to be able to log their assignments but i would like employees to visually be able to see when assignments have changed status. I would also like to see a change to status when an assignment is entered by a manager, which doesn't require approval, it can make it hard to report on. There is a slight issue when an employee entered an assignment across 2 days, it has been known to duplicate.

### "Great piece of Software, but not cheap"

February 25, 2026

4.0

Overall it is a powerful software with a lot of great integration with other systems. It also has good customer support. However, the UI is dated and the API's are difficult to use in some instances (for example the work pattern endpoint is complex).

Pros

It has every feature that we need, and the support is quite good. The integration with other systems is also great.

Cons

### "PeopleHR Overview"

March 5, 2026

4.0

We have used this system for a number of years and it is user friendly for our HR Department and our staff. Easy to set up new members of staff, retains information well for leavers. We do not use all the functions as find some are not that easy to use. Overall we are satisfied.

Pros

I like that you can be flexible with the way holidays are managed, such as different start months, and able to do bulk bookings, etc.

Cons

Some of the reports take a little bit of effort to get right - you need to experiment/test to ensure you are getting the filters correct. The expenses process fields are not user friendly so we do not utilise this function at all. We attempted to use the login via locations, but this was so heavy on our mobiles that it used so much battery. The App also often crashes which is a shame.

### "Great system for growing businesses."

February 25, 2026

4.0

Overall a positive experience, we didn't have a centralised HR system previously and relied on calendars and spreadsheets, using People HR gives control to authorisations and builds robust process to help keep us on track.

Pros

Straight forward system with some nice in-built templates and processes, helps a growing company like ours to manage staff without going too far, while also knowing the system is scaleable. The App is great to help staff submit expenses and book leave. Custom reporting is great.

Cons

Some areas can be hard to customise and end up changing processes to fit system rather than vice versa.

### "Dissapointing "

February 25, 2026

3.0

Disappointing. I have given many suggestions for updates, and some have been taken into consideration, but I feel I need someone to run through it and set it up properly for my team, and to stay in contact about training and using it. I realise this is an option, but it's expensive.

Pros

I like that all documentation is in one place, I struggle to find anything easy about using it. Customer care is lovely, but they can't change the way it was programmed. The org chart is lovely and good to use, although it can't be printed in the way you see it.

Cons

It takes a lot of training to be able to set it up and use it. It is very hard to set up Ripple and queries. There are a lot of things you can't bulk upload or bulk change. The organisation chart is great, but then you can't save it the way it looks when viewing it. The help is mainly AI, and although it has helped a lot, it can't answer specific things about your company. The Dashboard is not very flexible.

Response from The Access Group

February 26, 2026

Thanks for your honest feedback, Lee-Anne. We’re really sorry to hear that your experience has been disappointing, particularly around setup complexity, Ripple configuration and bulk functionality. We understand how frustrating it can feel when a system requires significant time investment to fully optimise. It’s helpful to hear that document storage and the org chart are positives, even though export flexibility and dashboard customisation haven’t met expectations. Your comments around training support and setup guidance are especially valuable, as we know confidence in configuration makes a huge difference to long-term success. We truly appreciate you sharing detailed suggestions, feedback like this directly informs future improvements. ### "Great HR System"

February 25, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Access PeopleHR has been largely positive and impactful. The platform offers a well-structured and user-friendly interface that makes daily HR tasks significantly easier to manage. From maintaining employee records to tracking absences and performance reviews, the system centralizes information in a way that saves time and reduces administrative errors. I particularly appreciate how accessible employee data is, as it streamlines reporting and improves decision-making. Another strength of Access PeopleHR is its document management feature, which allows secure storage and quick retrieval of important files. The self-service functionality also empowers employees to update their information, submit leave requests, and access documents independently, reducing the workload on HR teams. While there can occasionally be minor navigation challenges or learning curves when using more advanced features, overall the platform provides reliable performance and strong functionality. It has contributed to improving efficiency, organisation, and transparency within HR processes.

Pros

PeopleHR is easy to navigate as both an admin and an employee. Their customer support is really good and you get to talk to someone quickly if the AI feature can't answer what you need to know.

Cons

I wish PeopleHR had different admin levels so that different people in the HR team can have the status that they need and not full access.

Switched from

[Kelio](https://www.capterra.com/p/181942/Kelio/)

We made the transition from Kelio to PeopleHR to create a more streamlined, modern, and scalable HR environment. While Kelio supported time and attendance tracking, we needed a system that could deliver a broader range of HR functions within one centralized platform. PeopleHR offered stronger capabilities in employee record management, document storage, performance tracking, and reporting, allowing us to reduce reliance on multiple systems and manual processes. Another key reason for the change was to improve efficiency and visibility across the organization. PeopleHR’s self-service functionality empowers employees to manage their own information, request leave, and access documents without constant HR intervention. This not only reduces administrative workload but also improves accuracy and accountability. Additionally, PeopleHR provides more comprehensive reporting tools, helping leadership access real-time workforce data for better decision-making. Overall, the move allowed us to modernize our HR processes, enhance data accessibility, and support future organizational growth.

### "Effective Energy Review"

February 25, 2026

5.0

There have been a few teething issues so far but the team have been trying to work on it to resolve. I think better technical support during the implementation stage could be helpful. We have had many issues with employees not having access to Salary Extras. All team members have been friendly during our journey so far.

Pros

I like how versatile it is with it's products and the analytics available for products. It's ideal for a one stop shop for our employees.

Cons

The ATS function could probably work better and have more availability of job boards it can feed in to. I also think Salary Extras could have better discounts available, it feels they are slightly behind with what Reward Gateway and PerkBox offer.

Alternatives considered

[BrightHR](https://www.capterra.com/p/151525/BrightHR/)

Reason for choosing Access PeopleHR

BrightHR is very similar to BreatheHR. It is another basic system that doesn't provide the product we were looking for.

We had outgrown the HRIS, it didn't serve us on the products required and the analytics. It was a very basic HRIS.

### "Good for basics, limited for growth"

February 25, 2026

3.0

It's okay. It does the job and is fairly straightforward to navigate, but it doesn't mould to or grow with the organisation which is problematic when business moves rapidly.

Pros

It's easy to use and fairly methodical when navigating. There are lots of features and functions available depending on how much or little is needed.

Cons

The lack of flexibility in applying the functions and features is frustrating. Not being able to design the layout, fields and permissions to best reflect my organisation impacts the agility of the platform. It feels a bit clonky to use sometimes

### "Good basis for electronic storage & data control."

May 1, 2026

3.0

Overall its been OK. It has brought us forward out of the paper based side of things. Employees being able to view their own documents and being able to sign things electronically is much easier for us. We did review several at the time and moved forward with this one as our preferred choice. I still think it was the right decision.

Pros

It has a user friendly appearance, aesthetically. The basic info is good. Digital signing of documents and editing access rights to view is good. The ATS system is good too.

Cons

The training module is not very good for our business needs. There is no overall training matrix with sufficient details. Perhaps this could be created in a report function but we have been unable to create reports yet. I believe the performance review section was being reviewed to be upgraded.

It’s great to hear PeopleHR has helped move you away from paper processes and that features like document storage, e-signing and access controls are working well for your team. I’m sorry to hear the training module hasn’t met your needs, particularly around visibility and reporting. Overall we have found the platform to be beneficial in so many ways. We have access on desktop and mobile - always able to login and deal with something no matter where you are.

Pros

Ease of use, reports at your fingertips. Great support in the background, you can always get the answer to an issue. Great value for money

Cons

No cons for me so far. Just love everything about the platform. Still more learning to be done as the system is capable of so much more

### "Solid HRIS"

February 25, 2026

3.0

Overall my experience has been great, the support team are very helpful and responsive and there is a huge amount of information and learning materials available to better understand the platform.

Pros

The customisation is great, being able to adapt reports and performance reviews as well as having access to all employee data in one place.

Cons

It’s quite confusing to understand the levels of access that you have. PeopleHR seems to constantly improve but without paying extra you don’t get to avail of a lot of the improvements.

### "User Friendly System"

February 26, 2026

5.0

Overall I believe that the system is user friendly both for us as system admin users and also the end user. It is easy to navigate your way around and if there is something that we need assistance with, help is always on hand in a timely manner.

Pros

I find People HR easy to use. I only joined the HR team 1 year ago and within days I felt like I could navigate my away around the system basics very easily. I find that the customer support element is particularly good now that the AI feature has been added in, this means that help is readily available and there are only a small amount of times where I have been unable to get what I needed from the AI assistant and is has had to be escalated to a team member.

Cons

It would be useful if we were able to upload emails as they are rather than having to convert them to PDF as this just delays the process. I also find that creating new reports can be a lengthy process but maybe this is just because I am self taught.

### "User friendly and efficient"

May 1, 2026

4.0

Very positive, has allowed us to increase productivity without having to increase headcount in the department. Employees find it a good system to use too.

Pros

For employees it is easy to use on the desktop or app and provides all information in one place which is easy to access. It allows the HR team to focus in the right place due to the amount of automation available. The customer support is good as well as the help guides and videos.

Cons

Not a dislike, however there has been a number of helpful system changes that take a little while to get used to in a shirt space of time. That being said, customer support is good and they keep in constant communication until issue resolved.

### "Smooth App"

February 25, 2026

5.0

I really appreciate the new updates and they seem to simplify my work however I do wish that there was a simple chat box to type in a question rather than the automated limited options.

Pros

I'm a big fan of the new set up on the PC site as well as the mobile app. Setting up a new employee on PHR is much smoother now.

Cons

Sometimes the system rebels and gives me a challenge to figure out why something isn't working as it should be e.g. holiday calculations from one year to another.
