Director of IT Food & Beverages Used the software for: 2+ years ### "JDEdwards Payroll" October 18, 2018 3.0 we left JDE Payroll module primarily due to HR, the functionality was not all there for JDE, and it was not utilizing the newer tech like IOS devices, etc.. we have moved on to Workday. Pros easy to use, compared to our old system, and our new payroll system... employees did like its simplicity and intuitive use. Cons not keeping up to date, old code not utilizing newer tech like gui, IOS devices, etc, weak on HR side. Pros I liked that i was able to look at clear budgets that were set an i could see if we were close to budget easily. Cons I did not like how manual it is for me to get information. It is a strong, comprehensive ERP solution for medium to large businesses, and of a high-quality. Cons Finding functions you want in the tree is sometimes difficult, but adding everything to your favorites helps. The system interface looks a bit code heavy until you're used to it. The data that you want to import to excel is very easy and user-friendly. The software being cloud bases, it's easy to track down the activity of the users which some of the ERP's do not provide this function and you need to run queries for that. Pros The good thing is you do not need to have the software on every machine, it can be just like login on your e-mail.The software has multiple modules and they can be tailored depending upon your needs and wants. Cons The ERP being cloud based makes you rely on the internet, if you are down on the internet- Not a productive day. The flexibility in configuration and accountability it offers are amazing. The reports customization is a great feature and provides information easy for analysis. The best part is the data entry with ease and user friendliness compared to other ERP's. Pros I would say for a medium scale organization, it is the best solution available with amazing customization features. Cons I couldn't figure any cons for the software. Pros The software is a high end ERP suite, suitable for large and multinational companies with Strategic Business Units (SBU) across the global and the parent role as either as a portfolio manager or companies seeking to synergies SBUs to recreate values. JDE workflow is top notch with the ability to arrange or structure your business to suit your strategies. Its mobility feature gives it edge though not rare with other enterprise solutions. Cons JD Edwards is complex to setup and requires consultants with years of experience, which are in short supply at the moment. JD Edwards on-premise setup requires heavy hardware setup though this can be circumvented by switching from on-premise to cloud. It was hard on my eyes until the Eye Dr came in and helped me change colors. I did not like to cost valuing, but I may not have used it properly.
