### "Best software for office IM and meetings."

I can connect to my friend without the physical appearance and make plans on chatting even we can share information together by creating the group chats.

Pros

I have been using this software for the last 3 years and it is working well for me and the most eye-catching feature of the jabber is to connect people together. In the office, we can create a meeting, discuss everything without the physical appearance. We can share the screen and provide full access to the opponent so they can apply changes of there own. We can send screenshots, pictures, smilies etc.

Cons

I don't like about this we can't store the previous chats for a long time and it can't send the files which are bigger in size.

### "Works fine once you get it set up"

The setup and maintenance process is a pain but the software works well and facilitates user communication very well. It is to email and VoIP what the iPad is to the iPhone and Macbook, a nice middle option.

Pros

As a user who has this set up for you, there aren't many issues with the software. It's a basic instant messaging app with presence information integrated. The app works well and sits in the background.

Cons

The setup and maintenance of the application is a royal pain. Between managing the security certificates for it and making sure that each endpoint is able to communicate to the expressway server securly, you can have a part-time position available for this software alone. Also, messages are not stored on the server at all. If Jabber is not open on an endpoint when a message is sent, that endpoint cannot retroactively get the old messages.

Overall a great experience works well with all my other applications. Able to use cross-platform as well. Highly recommend

Pros

So many features to list. It does a great job keeping track of my calls telling me who's calling the voice to text options are phenomenal, great! Sound great to see any information you might need. You can even copy and paste numbers if necessary for other applications

Cons

From time to time it does need to be restarted. It seems like every week or two it might have an update or something like that and it needs to be done but otherwise hands down one of the greatest softwares I use

Overall, I have had a pretty good experience with Cisco Jabber. It did not take me long to learn the features of the program and I enjoy the layout of the program.

Pros

The features that I liked the most were the fact that you could see who was calling, what selection they chose on the phone options, as well as what their name or what the company name is. Additionally, the sound that chimes, when the phone rings, is loud to alert you, but it is not annoying.

Cons

There are not many features that I do not like. The only feature that is a bit tedious sometimes is having to, before getting on a call, alter the feature so that it goes to the microphone and headset that you need it to. When you change the headset one time, it does not stay as that headset. So if you forget to do it before you start to pick up calls, it will ring loud from your "default" speaker or microphone.

My overall experience has been pretty good. I appreciate the ability to access my voicemails and chat. I am getting more used to using the phone features.

Pros

Jabber has been useful to allow employees to access their work phone from home. This is especially helpful with accessing voicemails, but also allowing for video chat options.

Cons

The system appears to be difficult to manage on the back end, in terms of setting up users. I wish that the iOS features were turned on by default. For example, I can connect to phone via my laptop, but not my iPad or iPhone. Sound output is difficult to manage; I wish this were a quick setting vs. having to open preferences and modify the settings.

Jabber gets the job done for instant messaging, but companies need not worry about their employees getting lost in endless chats with each other. The interface is clunky and unintuitive. Setting a custom status is easy enough, but removing that status is not nearly as easy and requires an Internet search/hack. The emoji set looks about as appealing as AOL Instant Messenger from the late 1990s, and at least once a day I send messages to the wrong person somehow. The lack of avatars is telling, and while it has some integration with ActiveDirectory/Outlook, other products do it better. Its best feature (by far) is the reminder to join WebEx meetings, which doesn't require opening any programs at all. Slack or Skype will give you a superior chat experience, but Jabber is typical of Cisco products with a focus on back-end telephony.

Pros

This product has excellent integration with other Cisco software, particularly WebEx

Cons

Has terrible emoji support; is not customizable in any meaningful way; often send messages to the wrong people due to a cluttered interface

Jabber allows users and colleagues to form conference calls and individual calls seamlessly with very little voice drops in calls.

Cons

The user interface does not seem to offer much more than just a phone call interface which works well for what it is, but just a bit bland.

I have been using the Cisco-Jabber application in the office for the last 3 years. It is an application that provides simple and easy to use integration in applications such as outlook. Apart from a few minor problems I would say I am generally satisfied.

Pros

It is very simple to use and accelerates calls. It features a simple button to send screenshots on the instant messaging screen. Screen sharing and video conferencing function are very successful. Its perfectly stable with Cisco IP devices, Outlook integration allow you direct calls from outlook contacts.

Cons

The application can often break the connection with the self-phone. To connect again, you need to close the application and log in again.

It gets the job done, but for businesses that are looking for a smooth, connected type of instant messaging platform - this isn't it. But if you already have other Cisco products, the integration is useful.

Pros

Jabber is a very simple platform and the interface is user-friendly. For example, it's very obvious what you should click when you want to call someone, send them a quick online chat, or do a screenshare. You can also quickly and easily update your availability, and it's nice that whenever you're in a WebEx meeting, it automatically links up and shows that you're busy. Setting your other statuses (like away, Do Not Disturb, etc) is accomplished in a click of a button. It does integrate with Outlook too!

Cons

Jabber, while easy to use, is incredibly clunky. If you have more than 2-3 conversations going at once, it's very, very easy to get them mixed up - or to simply not see the newest message come through. The calling capabilities are super limited - we're typically only able to call once person at once, which means you have to use WebEx for more than one.

Manage the client while many technical workers and executives within our organization message on it (both to me and without me, to one another). Group chats are easy to convert into video calls, fully-fledged Webex conferences, or both depending on the needs of they conversation.

Pros

I love that IMs during Webex meetings made and/or hosted through Jabber will be saved, securely, forever. There are often times where a good point is made during a meeting and it's up to the secretary to remember the point, its context, and then send it out again. Jabber allows us to make and store these observations in real-time.

Cons

1-on-1 messages between users are stored locally on the disk. This can lead to problems with security if users are unaware their storage is local and their workspace security is compromised. Larger, group messages are encrypted and stored safely on the cloud, though.

Overall, I am happy that we switched. Our previous program worked only as IM, and it is much better to have it combined with voice services, especially when working remotely during the Pandemic.

Pros

Cisco Jabber works great for both instant messaging and video conferencing. It is much better than previous program we used, where if you wanted to call your colleague , you had to use a different software. Cisco Jabber shows who is currently online, or if the person stepped away, is on another call etc. Additionally, unlike Zoom (that I mainly used for voice/video conferencing) it doesn't slow down my computer.

Cons

Copy/paste functionality should be improved. When am imaged is pasted, it is shown as extremely small, so an user always has to click on it to increase the resolution.

Pros

I do like how easy it is to organize groups and start group chats with Jabber. I also like that you can choose a list or tabs for all open conversations. And I appreciate that when I am on Do Not Disturb, new chats don't pop up on my screen; this is helpful for screensharing.

Cons

I dislike that the video chat box comes up every time I place a phone call through Jabber. It would just take one accidental click for me to be sharing video. There should be a setting that allows your default to be "Never Share Video" or something similar. My organization rarely, if ever, requires video chat. It shouldn't pop up every single time.

The experience with Cisco Jabber has been good. It solves all my problems while working, the best part is to have video meetings where you doesn't feel disconnected with team when you are working remotely. It always make you connected with team professionally and personally as well. Value added features with great customer support from Cisco. Highly recommended.

Pros

Cisco Jabber is a great tool that I like a lot when i am working in office or somewhere outside office, since it has made it so easy to connect to meetings instead of being in person for any discussion. The shared screen is the top feature which allows me to connect with coworkers and solve any issues in real time without any inconvenience. It reduces lot of efforts and gains productivity of employees, which eventually improves project delivery.

Cons

Nothing much on dislikes as helps in my work a lot. Only observed that we can not send any screenshot or attachment in group chat. Also when we integrate with MS outlook, the status on Jabber is different than in Outlook, it should be in sync.

It is our main and effective corporate instant communication channel, that allow people from different locations easily reach each other. No security concerns so far.

Pros

Communication with their sales team and product installation were really easy. As they use VOIP protocol, Cisco Jabber easily met our corporate security requirements. I liked the most its soft phone function, it was also good for internal instant messaging until we started more software for the same purpose...

Cons

I had a few occurrences recently when chat history got lost completely. Also, sometimes I experience an issue that read message is display as unread. No more major concerns though.

If you have a cisco network it's a useful tool mainly if you are not always in your office since it allows you to have your office phone on your mobile device all the time.

Pros

I ran a call center which used an all Cisco network, I downloaded the app and used Jabber on my cell phone, and this allowed the supervisors and floor managers to reach me at any time. I was also able to call their extensions directly when needed.

Cons

I can't really blame it all on the application however, I would get disconnected and I wouldn't know so people couldn't reach me, it may have also been related to the security behind my internet connection, but it was a hassle.

Jabber does its job. It's easy to find users and reach out to them, but the interface is in need of a drastic update.

Pros

Jabber is a user friendly tool, and can be connected with Outlook. It also allows you to easily find your coworkers and see their status.

Cons

It is not a customizable tool, overall. The whole interface is unappealing. The audio calls function works well, but the same can not be said for video calls.

i have been using this for more then 3 year and it makes my work like scheduling meeting , chatting with teammates singly or in group very easy. i do not need to look for my notebook or anywhere to find the phone number and email id to contac the person and it can be easily seen in jabber.

Pros

we can see the profile i.e online/offline status, phone number, mails id . Screen/desktop sharing feature is quite easy and consumes less bandwidth as compare to other software like slack. 'Send mail' option is really time saving . User can Customize status according to his need.scheduling meeting and easy integration with outlook are impressive feature, in one click we can see the meetings detail from jabber, can schedule a new meeting .

Cons

i don't see any option like slack where we can use any other app with in the jabber just like we do in slack. on my personal PC i found that history get deleted automatically after few days, there should be option to retrieve the history which got deleted previously automatically. Emoticons are less in Jabber as compared to slack

Jabber is overall a best application for video conferences. It works seamlessly even during long meetings. It is easy to setup and use. Its UI is great and can be understood even by a average user.

Pros

It supports HD audio and video quality. It is easily integrated with MS teams for better usability. Screen sharing is easy and reliable. Creating or joining meetings is just one click away. Its stand alone application has some cool features for chatting which makes it more lively and interesting. It is cross platform supported. It works seamlessly with Cisco hardware such as cisco room series and board series. It is stable even during long video conferences.

Cons

Mobile application is not at all optimised and buggy. Updates are slow. Its slightly overpriced for its capabilities. Doesn't support sharing large files.

Pros

This software is the fastest, easiest way to communicate with other employees in both the same office and remote offices. Jabber offers not only instant messaging service but also the ability to share your screen with another user, which is useful in training a remote employee.

Cons

The features in Jabber are fairly limited when compared to something like Microsoft Teams, which also offers file sharing, storing notes, and scheduling meetings.

Using this to share updates

Pros

Cisco jabber is very lightweight and easy to use instant messenger. We can share screens and control other people screen through control requests. We can make groups of people to share updates regarding various ongoing projects. Users can set up their status like in a meeting, away and available. Voice calling through Cisco IP phone is the best feature that I have ever used.

Cons

Apart from so many useful features it has some drawbacks like we can't send a screenshot to the offline user. We can't share document files through Cisco jabber and also we can't share screens in chat groups

Pros

Cisco Jabber also us to deploy mobile voice access and single number reachability for all our corporate users. The end users can use the services with the devices they chooses without compromise the security because unsecured devices. The deployment bypass the requirement to have the device connected to the corporate network via VPN; we are able to board users faster and maintain corporates security. The deployment also give user flexibility to have Cisco Jabber installation across multiple devices

Cons

There is no option of using certificate authentication

I love Jabber. I think it’s an amazing tool to have in a workplace and highly recommend other companies use it for both social and professional uses.

Pros

My favorite thing about Jabber is the share your screen function. While most of my colleagues don’t know about, I often initiate sharing my screen which is a fast and easy way to review something together. I also like that you can start group chats.

Cons

While I like Jabber a lot, sometimes I can’t see whether people are online or active, despite us being on the same network of VPN. For instance, I know people are logged in and active but the circle to the left of their names are grey.
