It made me excited to get on with my drawings as soon as clock in. They also have the Best Customer Service! I foundH2X very intuitive. It feels like a 21st century software and has an app like appeal, It is very easy and quick to use and takes a lot less time to teach new engineers how to use the software. I have used H2X on several projects . Generally I have used it for sizing domestic water systems and the associated plant items, the speed and simplicity in using the software defiantly makes my life a bit easier. It's a very comprehensive design software which I would recommend anyone to try. Pros Personally I found H2X very intuitive. A computer literature engineer could pick up the software in a day with no training. I like the flexibility in design, for example you can change the piping material or velocities across the whole project in a few clicks, alternatively you can manual change individual sections. Being cloud based and not being tied down to a specific desktop is very useful. The ability to output to Revit is a fantastic time saver. Cons The way it outputs the notes in the results page is limiting. Ideally you would be able to drag and drops the notes so it's cleaner, as in a busy drawing it can be difficult to read. Sometimes the error warnings may not be pertinent to the project for some reason, but there is not an option to hide or turn these off. However, if you submit the calcs to the client and their is a big yellow safety warning, it makes them nervous. I think it should be possible to turn on/off the warnings. So we tried the software out with a free trial, and decided to stick with it and use H2X going forward. It save us so much time, not sure how we survived before...! Pros Its well thought out for installers who don't use CAD but still need to be able to design systems, which is all installers. its alot of drag and drop and not alot of remembering which key does what so its easy to come back to if you haven't used it for a while Cons as a future ad on, it would be great to have radiator size choices generated from the room output required would maybe require manual input from a manufacturer data sheet though?? May 23, 2025 5.0 I've used it to design Mechanical systems on a couple of test Housing projects and the Ventilation system for a Temporary Site office. I was amazed at the speed which I was able to complete that Ventilation design. Also, the support and customer service is fantastic. Any questions I've raised were answered in no time with demonstration videos for clarity. Shout out to \[sensitive content hidden\]. Thanks for all your help, tips and support over the last couple of weeks. I would definitely recommend going through the h2X university modules as well. Very information and helpful for navigating your way through the software. Pros The software is very easy to use once you get the hang of the different tools and set up the projects correctly. The heat load calculation function is particularly impressive. Designing mechanical systems with this feels very straight forward and seamless. Cons It would be great if the software is able to generate schematics in similar fashion to layouts. Also, I think the execution / application of the Annotation tool could be improved. The visual aspect of it makes learning and understanding plumbing far more interesting. This software allows you to save so much time and enables you to see your design flaws almost instantaneously. The response time for any inquires I've had was astounding regardless of the time difference, and the effort put into explaining and answering all my questions was truly amazing! Job well done :)! In my opinion, it is not suitable for us to use in every project, but has many benefits for particular projects. I will definitely be using it again in the future and love the concept. Pros Love the fact that the calculations are automatically done just by the user preparing the pipework layout and by inputting the design data. Favourites are things like the HW flow and return loop and pump sizing. Cons Have had a few minor glitches in resolving design issues. It is intuitive and very user friendly. Pros It is easy to use right from the start. Only require a few minutes to get to know the basics and it's ready to use. Cons There are no specific things I liked least. However, there are a couple of features which could be added. For example, after having computed the network and gone back to Plumbing mode to make changes, it would be great if the piece of pipe selected would display the computed pipe size in the properties window, rather than just saying "Computed" next to the pipe size. There have been a few occasions where there has been frustration, both through the learning process of the software and when glitches have occurred. Pros Straightforward (mostly), comprehensive and versatile design software that ticks a lot of boxes for the design work that we are involved in. Off plan modelling is MUCH faster and easier than prior tools we have used. Calculations appear accurate. Customer support and assistance has been brilliant when things haven't gone as intended. Cons Occasional software glitches and hangs, but they have improved vastly recently. Sometimes tweaking of the layout of items can be fiddly or cause unintentional movement of other components. Had it solved with an explanation in 5 mins. Cons Sometimes it can be difficult to organise lots of pipes close together in neat angles as it likes to snap to the wrong pipe but even then there are lots of ways around that so its not that big a deal.
