Pros Its is so user friendly and simple to use but it still produces accurate results ! I like the way you can trace over a PDF to produce drawings. Cons Not a lot ! H2X produce lots of self learning blogs, videos and webinars to attend. These are particularly helpful to review when not using the software on a day to day basis. Pros Customer support and technical back up is excellent. The H2X team are very fluent in the use of the design software and can easily understand an issue and point out how to overcome your query. The software is very user friendly and very visual so you can clearly seen how systems are routed to plant. Cons Google meet may note be the most popular a video communication service. At 1st it took time to learn it and it had its issues & bugs, but these have since been ironed out. Pros Once you get used to the software, it's easy to use & navigate around the different menus, giving clear concise designs. The software is fantastic, its a real time saver and we can install with confidence knowing we have all our maths correct. To add to that, the support they offer when you encounter an issue is second to none! Pros Theres a lot I like about the software but if I was to define one thing it would be the simplicity of calculating flow rates, velocity and pipe sizing. Cons The floor plan drawing can be a bit clunky, although it gets easier when you know the limitations of it. I have implemented a lot of software, some good, a few bad... but this one so far has been a breeze. You ask a question and within minutes (regardless of the time zone) it gets answered. These guys are on POINT. Well done boys Pros I had been searching for a product/software of this nature for many years. I stumbled across H2X from a consultants design when I seen a tiny reference to H2X website..... Low and behold I found the holly grail of plumbing design by clicking on this link.... I started a trail version, got a wee demonstration from \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] who was more than happy to help with any questions I had, in an extremely timely manner. This software is intuitive, super easy to use and has many great features to help any old humble plumber with a simple or even more complex design without the need to engage a mechanical consultant . Cons I can't find many yet.... Been able to undertake Stormwater Calculation with rainfall intensity would be amazing.... I hear this might be in the pipeline. Exporting designs in PDF's to show all pipe sizes would be ideal as well.... The basic operation of the program is easy to adopt and the learning curve is reasonably linear. Like every program, there are tricks a tips to increase productivity and ease of use. The friendly and helpful staff are more than willing to help you adapt and progress with your operation of H2X. Pros H2X is an easy program to learn and use. The user interface is designed with an intrinsically logical progression of functions and operations. The calculations can be performed at any point during the design development to capture design errors and the effects of alterations immediately. The ability to select and fix pipe, fitting and fixture details and selections is very useful for design proofing and fault finding in new and existing service designs. Uploading and manipulating .pdf background documents is also easy and hassle free. New levels and relevant information are easy to add into the project. Scaling of .pdf background documents is easily done with a high degree of accuracy. Bearing in mind that a .pdf document is an image file with little intrinsic data relating to line accuracy or drafting limitations, H2X willingly creates usable design models with limited fuss. H2X is capable of calculating pressure systems to many different national and international design standards. The selection of design standard can be changed and recalculated at any point within the design process, the projects can be copied and saves as parallel models thereby allowing for side-by-side comparison calculations as required. Cons There are no warnings within the planning tab advising of the potential to move .pdf backgrounds within the H2X model, nor is there an option (that we found) to lock the .pdf back grounds into place. While we understand that H2X is a stand alone calculation program with output drawing frames to showcase H2X, it would be useful to have more flexibility with regard to drawing output framing and title blocks. The output drawings are centered about the H2X model as a standard and do not allow for nonstandard drawings or plot layouts that have additional information that displaces the model information. We understand that this is a web based program that enables H2X to be centrally controlled and located, however this is also an issue for those users with unstable / unreliable internet connectivity. H2X does not offer (within the trial version) an option for local installation, work and save on and of models. The ease of completing a design and passing on to a draftsperson is critical for us to keep advancing with ever growing workloads. Jonny is also extremely helpful and more than happy to help at any time. Pros The ease of changing different calculation methods at the click of a button. Easy to use. Direct conversion from H2X to REVIT & CADD. Cons Can be a bit 'clunky' at times, Unknown errors pop up from time to time. No confirmation of errors in design mode. Calculations are quick to complete and make adjustments to throughout the duration of the project. The amount of time H2X has saved us in invaluable. Cons H2X takes a small amount of time to get to grips with and understand the way information needs to be inputted. However once that is understood it is very easy to use. " July 14, 2021 5.0 I had the pleasure of a free trial for the software after seeing it advertised on LinkedIn and having a positive discussion and interactive training with both \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\]. I have used the software on two projects, a residential project and a care home, it has been a pleasure to use and I will defiantly not be changing back to previous pieces of software I have used. Pros The complete software package was a breath of fresh air compared to alternative hydraulic calculation software's on the market. The usability of the system was effortless compared to it's competitors in the UK. It is a free flowing piece of software which allows the user (on the basis the user have a good knowledge of Public Health Engineering) to design, distribute and calculate domestic water services simply with a few clicks of a button. Cons The only piece of the software which confused me slightly was the hot and cold water defaults on the appliances, however I believe this is a regional thing. Pros The software has proven to be very useful in validating calculations for plumbing designs and making the process more efficient. Adjustments can be made at a later date will minimal time spent as opposed to the more manual calculation methods, even when assisted by Excel spreadsheets. Cons Sometimes it's a little bit hard to change things. For example, if i want to increase the pipe size to minimise the friction loss, i will need to select all the pipe one by one ( they are separated by the fittings). We remember you mentioning this to us and because of the inefficiencies you experienced we have added a 'minimum pipe size' feature that will mean you never need to do this again. You can edit the minimum pipe size in Settings > Flow Systems. Also, using our 'select similar' feature, you can quickly edit the properties for multiple pipes or fixtures all at once. To select similar, firstly left click on the fixture or pipe and then right click and the select similar box should appear, here you can enter properties for fixture groups or pipes. In my opinion, it is not suitable for us to use in every project, but has many benefits for particular projects. I will definitely be using it again in the future and love the concept. Look forward to trying out the new aspects including drainage design. Pros Love the fact that the calculations are automatically done just by the user preparing the pipework layout and by inputting the design data. Favourites are things like the HW flow and return loop and pump sizing. Cons Have had a few minor glitches in resolving design issues. It is intuitive and very user friendly. Pros It is easy to use right from the start. Only require a few minutes to get to know the basics and it's ready to use. Cons There are no specific things I liked least. However, there are a couple of features which could be added. For example, after having computed the network and gone back to Plumbing mode to make changes, it would be great if the piece of pipe selected would display the computed pipe size in the properties window, rather than just saying "Computed" next to the pipe size.
