Pros It's great to have an at a glance look at who will be working on a given week. Pingboard gives us better awareness than Google Calendar can, so we can plan accordingly. Cons There are some weird, nuanced bugs. It's easy to accidentally place yourself on OOO for today with no way to edit it since it's considered the 'past'. It would also be great if Pingboard interacted with Slack. I've often wished my status in Pingboard could be reflected in Slack to make things more smooth an automated. Haven't seen a better one since. Pros We first came to Pingboard looking for a great visual org chart (which we found) but also LOVE the out-of-office feature. Our whole team uses it, and with the Google cal integration and our use of Slack-bots, it really helps everyone know what's going on. Also love the "Teams" feature for cross-functional groups. Cons Just a couple little things, not being able to set recurring out-of-office statuses. Generally speaking there's not much we don't like. Review Source Adam C. Pros This tool captures and displays the data it needs without getting in the way. It's easy to navigate and find info - I want to be in and out of this kind of tool quickly and get back to what I'm doing - I've found that easy with Pingboard. Cons none so far - though I haven't tried to do anything advanced with the tool. Nor am I a manager of the tool. Pros As a recruiter, it's hard to keep up with heavy growth in a company. I want to try to know all 600+ employees and Pingboard allows this. Whether I just want to learn their last name or many learn a little more about their background - Pingboard has you covered. Our organization is making an effort to make sure Pingboard is used widely; I hope it becomes better in that aspect. Pros 1\. The org chart visualization is absolutely great and considering how fast it loads, I love referring back to it all the time. 2. Integration with Google Calendar is great! Single place to provide your Out of Office status and you're done! Cons 1\. "Out of Office" option is a bit hidden, I wish there was a way to set an out of status state from my profile page itself; instead of going to the overall "Out of office" page. 2. It sometimes takes a while to see the title/report structure changes on Pingboard but I doubt this is related to Pingboard itself but more like how the data is fed into it. " October 30, 2018 5.0 Pros I love how you can see different views of people that you work with. For example, you can see them all laid out by alphabetical order or you can see an org chart and see how all of the teams are structured. I also love the match a face to a name flashcard functionality. It's great for learning names! Cons I didn't like how they took away the flashcard name feature from the desktop version. It's only on mobile now and that's not really convenient because I like to do all of my work related tasks on my laptop. Pros I like Pingboard because it helps me know when coworkers are out of the office (assuming they actually use that feature), and when there's a new employee I can hop on and check them out. We are also big on celebrating birthdays in my office so I like that I can go on and see everyones birthday. Cons Sometimes I get confused when going to put in a new status but that's all really. Due to new reporting and managing systems, people were confused about who was on specific teams and where specific employees fit into the company. With a clear visual breakdown, it made the merger feel more transparent and understandable. Pros I love how easy it is to see different teams and reporting structures. The user-friendly interface allows our 100+ division to feel accessible and transparent. It's great to be able to click an employee profile and learn their current manager, profile, and tasks in real time. Cons It would be great to search for employees by their seniority (i.e. be able to break down a list of managers, directors, assistants, etc.) I think more filtering options would help with specific searches. I can use it on my computer or on my phone, and I appreciate that I can have a colleague's contact information readily at my fingertips if I need to get a hold of them. I also like that there are pictures for each employee, I am a visual learner so it helps me match faces to a name. There are a lot of employees at my organization, so that feature is helpful. Cons There are some features that are easier to use/access on the computer than on the phone app. It would be nice if they were more similar, but I do understand that a phone cannot view all the things a computer has the capability of doing. Pros It's very easy to use. I can see my team, co-workers and the hierarchy in between. The ability to log time-off/sick days here and have it populate Google Calendar is very handy. Cons I've never had an issue using the tool, but it might be nice if there was some way to track changes to the organization overall or hierarchy over time (e.g. a list of folks that leave the team). Cons When viewing the overall graphical org chart fo the company I sometimes find it difficult to traverse the tree structure with the tiny little drop down arrow. Also, as the org tree gets expanded it's harder to navigate between more upper level employees and see who manages a specific department.
