Bill4Time enables a small company to have the organization, efficiency, and the professional look of a large company without the large cost. The cost fits in our budget. Pros We love the ability to have live billing numbers, the opportunity for look-back, and the ability to attach client expenses to the billing. Cons As of now, I'm not sure of anything that I would change. I also like the Add Expense option, which allows you to specfically categorize what your expense is (i.e. mileage, copies, filing fee, etc) Cons I wish they would create an app for it for cell phones. I have a habit of forgetting to enter time that I need to enter whenever I am out of the office (i.e. phone calls with clients on the weekend or in the evenings). Review Source JP Jeff P. It helps to keep projects within budget. Pros I like that it's easy to enter time and view your time entered across the week. It makes it easy to ensure you have all your time entered. Pros It is rather easy to learn to use and generates nice invoices and reports, and when I need assistance customer service is great! Cons Use of product on I-Pad could be a little better. It has improved, but still does not have full features. Reason for choosing Bill4Time I used a couple of other billing services at other firms, including Timeslips and found Bill4Time to be the best product that I tried. Review Source aF alan F. Attorney Used the software for: ### "iPhone Version is Not Ready for Prime Time" December 13, 2015 2.0 I have had the trial version of Bill4Time installed on my iPhone for two weeks. I am working as a solo practitioner between GC positions, and I just wanted an app that could act like a clock in my pocket, easily tracking time billed to clients. Bill4Time in the iPhone has several problems. If you shut off the app before hitting the "save" key, it loses the time (the entire data entry) for the time you are tracking. The clock that shows at the top of the screen only counts time while the iPhone is awake (although you find out later that the time was actually being counted in the background even though the time count of the face of the app was wrong). You can not over-ride time entries with corrected time or make time entries that were not clocked by the app itself on the iPhone. Those are only a few of the problems I found with it. The iPhone app must not have been beta tested with a large number of users to catch these flaws, because they should have been easy to correct. Since this app has been in use for several months now (as of December 12, 2015), they also should have had time to fix the flaws and re-release the software. This indicates a team that is not supporting their product with needed releases. In fairness, I did not call customer service because I am not interested in waiting until beta test flaws are corrected and re-released. Pros It is very intuitive and easy to use. I can enter time and run reports in no time flat. Cons Would love to be able to link expenses from my bank account to be able to run an income and expense report. I love a secure platform for my records. It meets the needs of my company. Pros Easy to utilize and provides a secure platform to store your records. Cons The invoice/accounting side is a little difficult until you get the hang of it. When you download records the records should automatically be in the order of the newest first. They should also be a little bit clearer about some of their wonderful features such as the fact you can have two windows open at the same time. I think a little work on the help section would be good; however, the support staff is great. The interface is very clean looking. Their support was friendly and definitely tried to help. Cons Instability. The system was down three times during my short run with the product including on the 1st day of the month. I wasn't able to bill time or enter new time. I learned from another firm user that they had experienced the same problem in each of the two months previous on the 1st of the month. There is no need to use any paper documents and all reports are able to be downloaded as a PDF or Excel file to keep with company records. Cons There isn't a functional way to track budgeting for our type of work within the tool. The option that is available doesn't fully support the way our company tracks.
