Had ups and downs but definitely still one of my top favorite. Pros What I like most about Google pay is the payment options it offers, especially "tap to pay", I love that I don't have to carry my physical card around with me and I can use my phone to pay whenever I need to. Definitely provides a feeling of security. Cons What at least like about Google pay is the reimbursement for unauthorized purchases in Google Play process. I feel as though if I am charged and it shows Google pay then that's who I should get assistance from, but at times I've had to wait days just to be told to contact a different company. I felt secure with the app, and confident in my purchases while using it. Pros I liked that Google Pay was a one-in-all digital wallet that supports a multitude of types of cards, payment processing plans, statements, tickets, rewards, and other types of perks. Additionally, its reputation as a highly secure service, with convenient, easy-to-use UI and ability to transfer money, made me feel very comfortable with the app and I was already familiar with the Google brand. Cons I disliked that there were a number of technical glitches tied to the Google Suite of products, as well as functionality issues when attempting in-person or third-party purchases at places that may not accept or claim to accept Google Pay. July 15, 2025 1.0 Trying to speak directly to customer service to someone at google or fitbit is non existent. What else is there to say! Pros Not one thing. 0 customer support or service. Colossol waste of time to speak with someone. Crazy that to review, this site wants my linked in acct or business acct. Cons Somehow I am being billed over $10/mos for fitbit premium for over a year. I do not recall signing up for this. Google reported "We see no fraudulent activity". No refund, no nothing. I have replied at the very least stop charging me. We will see. They keep trying to push rewards and deals that I dont really care about, and it makes it harder to find my actual transaction history quickly. Also, I have noticed that once in a while it wont trigger the NFC reader on the first try, so I have to lock and unlock my phone to get it to wake up. It’s not a huge deal but can be a bit awkward when there is a long line behind you. Pros The thing I like most is definitely the speed of the tap to pay feature. Its so much faster than digging through my bag for a wallet and I never have to worry about if I forgot my cards at home. I also really like how it integrates with my gmail for tracking receipts and stuff. The security side of things gives me peace of mind too since it uses virtual numbers so the actual merchant never sees my real card info. I don't need to carry my wallet anymore and payments are just a few taps away. Pros I like the convenience and simplicity of how it works for making payments quick and easy in day to day usage. Cons Transaction fees are charged on certain payments such as mobile recharge. If I were to go through the carrier and use Google Pay as a payment gateway, there are no transaction charges incurred. But if I try to recharge through Google Pay directly, I need to pay an additional fee. I believe that we will soon see an update that allows Google pay and Apple Pay to work together which would mean sending money via text too whom ever you want. At first it was a little bit intimidating when I added my first card but now that I've got a hang of it, I don't carry any cards with me anywhere! Pros Google pay makes everything so much easier. You don't have to carry around debit cards or credit cards or cash. Almost everywhere takes google pay, the only place that doesn't take it that is annoying is Wal-mart. Hopefully they will start taking it soon! You can add a gift card or any type of debit or credit card to your Google pay which is nice.
