Even the switch was easy. Pros Fastmail should be your go to for e-mail. It truly rocks. The app on the smartphone is amazing. You can even setup rules from the app. Cons There is nothing that I don't like. Pros I like the flexibility of FastMail especially the availability of the Mobile Apps and the support for multiple email protocols; IMAP, SMTP and POP3. I like to configure most of my emails on Microsoft Outlook as doing so gives an easy access to all my emails from various platforms such as Gmail, Domain emails and FastMail for more secure emails. The availability of FastMail’s support for multiple email protocols makes it so easy to configure it within Microsoft Outlook. I have really enjoyed the availability of the mobile apps and equally the option to customize FastMail’s interface. I had Tutatona - a great email service- but lousy interface and being able customize the interface is quite a good experience with Fastmail. I have occasionally used the task manager in Fastmail and it is quite intuitive though, I prefer using other apps for managing tasks. Cons FastMail’s spam protection is not that great. I have experienced a lot of Spam emails more than I did in Tutanota. While this has been a bit irritating, I appreciate having the quarantine folder which I think it’s unique and I am able to review the spam emails and decide which ones to keep. Pros I have been using Fastmail for the past three years and have been extremely happy with the service.One of the things I love most about Fastmail is that I can host multiple domains and create many email aliases. This has been extremely useful for both my personal and professional life.The calendar feature has also improved significantly in recent years, making it much easier for me to manage my schedule and stay organized.I also appreciate that Fastmail is committed to maintaining ownership of my data. As someone who values privacy, this is an important factor for me when choosing an email service. Cons While I have not personally experienced any major issues with Fastmail, some users may find the interface to be a bit outdated compared to other email services.Additionally, the pricing for Fastmail can be a bit higher than some other options on the market. I believe in the company, and I happily support them for the product they've created by paying a very nominal annual fee. I should point out that I do not use Fastmail for my primary business for one reason and one reason only. Business emails sent from Fastmail, or any email provider that isn't one of the top 5 most prominent providers, have a higher chance of getting caught in spam filters. If it were not for this, I would move my entire company to Fastmail in a heartbeat. But for now, I maintain it for small projects and personal email. Pros I am a big fan of web-based email clients, but I'm not too fond of Google and Microsoft having complete control of all of my emails. Fastmail seems to be the perfect alternative, which allows for significant privacy controls and a wide array of unique features. The most helpful feature in Fastmail is when you combine a catchall email with their alias features. This allows me to reply to any email perfectly and without fail. Cons I am not sure if I can call this a con, because one of the benefits of Fastmail is that they don't scan your emails. But the downside, when you leave Gmail is that the search features are not nearly as good. To describe the Fastmails search function, I would say that it is worse than Outlook and Gmail, but significantly better than Tutanota and Protonmail. I used Tutanota for years before and got fed up with their terrible search. So once I completely purged my personal life from Google, Fastmail looked to be the ideal option that respected my privacy.
