Use it every day. You can buy from the App Store or from the creator. It is loaded on all our Mac devices. Pros This is a tiny tool that sits in your menubar at the top of your Apple Mac screen. It's just a few pounds to buy and occasionally on a deal. This was £4 for 5 licences! It captures text from anything. So could be a web page, a photo, etc. Then you paste it. An advanced copy and paste device. Cons Nothing to dislike. Does what it says on the tin. Has various other settings and features, but I do not use them. I use it for one thing. Pros I recently started using TextSniper and I'm very happy with how easy it is to use. It integrates seamlessly with macOS's screenshot workflow and clipboard, making it a breeze to capture text from any source. I especially love how it's great for capturing ephemeral information such as notes from video calls.What's even better is that it's perfect for integrating into a GTD workflow using apps like OmniFocus or Reminders. With TextSniper, I can quickly capture any important information I come across and easily add it to my task list. Cons It's very difficult to find something to complain about with TextSniper, except perhaps that it's not built into macOS as standard. Pros It takes only 9.8 MB space on my mac and works fast. It has preferences option in which I was easily able to chose my preferred short cut for snipping. There is also many other options in preferences like disabling sound effect or showing custom notification when the text snipping option is performed. This tool even has text to speech option for selected text which is an amazing add on. The best thing is that it has one time pay option. Cons The only thing lacking as of now was that it is not efficient at capturing indentation or punctuation marks. So when a text contains quotes or brackets etc it fails to capture it. Really impressive tool. Pros Have you ever been watching a video presentation and you see some text that you want to note down? Wouldn’t be easier if there was a way to just take a screenshot and it would extract the text? Thats what TextSniper is capable of and more. The tool has saved me tons of time and I like that the app quickly launches from the menubar. It also has a QR code reader that allows you to launch links without using your phone to take a photo of the QR code. For Setapp fans, it’s part of the subscription. Highly recommend. Cons It’s hard to think of anything that needs to be added or improved. It’s a simple app that does what it does well. I would like to see more integrations. Being able to push to Coda / Notion would be nice for quickly bookmarking things. Maybe even an integration with Readwise would be nice. It's super easy to use , doesn't require any learning curve. Cons sometimes it does miss a a couple of letters . but that's rare.
