The ease of use is immediately apparent from the moment you log in. The layout is clean, thoughtfully designed, and the UX feels polished and professional without being complicated. Whether you're a seasoned podcaster or just getting started, there is very little friction between you and a great-looking episode. The audio quality is noticeably strong and a significant step up from what most people are used to from Zoom calls. Your guests sound like they're in a real studio, and that matters when you're trying to build a professional show. The video quality matches — crisp, clear, and broadcast-ready, in a way that used to require much more effort and equipment. Where Streamyard really earns its keep is in the production workflow. Adding intros, outros, and midroll videos is simple and seamless, and the multiple screen sharing options give you real flexibility, whether you're hosting a solo episode or bringing in guests. The finished product requires little to no editing before it's ready to publish, which is a genuine time saver and one of Streamyard's biggest selling points. What you record is essentially what you get, and that is a huge deal for busy creators. Customer support has been responsive and helpful when I've needed them, which is always reassuring with a platform you rely on regularly. That said, the pricing is a negative. At $59 a month, Streamyard is already a significant investment, and the fact that creating video clips and transcripts comes with additional fees on top of that is genuinely hard to justify. Those are not niche features — they are core tools for modern podcasters and content creators. At that price point, at least one of them should be included without question. It's the one area where Streamyard leaves you feeling nickel-and-dimed, even though the rest of the experience is so strong. A fantastic platform in many ways, but worth going in with eyes open to what the real monthly cost will look like once you add the features you actually need. Pros Ease of use, fantastic layout, clean UX design, features for podcasters, audio quality is very good, much better than Zoom, high-quality video content, easy to add intro, outro, midroll video, little to no editing required of your final video, multiple screen sharing options for guests and solo episodes. Cons Given the high cost and the additional fee for creating video clips and transcripts, I feel that if I'm paying $59 a month, one or both of those features should be included. Marketing Director Marketing and Advertising Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Easy to use with nice extras " June 23, 2026 4.0 We were looking for a tool to support a LinkedIn Live webinar and tested several options, but they were always missing key features. StreamYard met all our needs. It allowed us to schedule the event, display LinkedIn comments on screen in real time, record everything, and easily bring in external guests. After the webinar, it also generated short clips that we could reuse for social media. Our team is relatively young and comfortable with technology, but the tool is still very easy to use and requires almost no learning curve. Pros Streamyard creates after a webinar already shorts that can be used for social media, subtitles included. They look great and it saved us as some time! Cons In general we were very happy with the tool, however if I need to mention something that can be improved it's perhaps the options of adding your brand logo to on screens. It is possible but we struggles a tiny bit with the size as we had 4 different companies joining. They provided a real community feel and devs were responsive. It is sad to see that they now seem to take their subscriber base for granted by being unresponsive. Pros The platform itself is great. There is a shallow learning curve and you get a lot of features for a very reasonable price, including the ability to connect to multiple social media platfoms, cue up videos, connect to live guests and brand your studio). I particularly like the way you can use SMS to invite guests via mobile, and the scrolling ticker option. Cons The company appear to have abandoned their customers. They used to provide helpful customer support but now they appear to rely on automation to manage everything. Emails come across as rude (not including the customer's name, not reading emails, not responsing to social media queries, etc.) They also hide their prices (which is strange because they're very reasonable) Alternatives considered [OBS Studio](https://www.capterra.com/p/164144/OBS/) Reason for choosing Streamyard I was torn between sticking with the flexibility and customisability of OBS and the convenience of StreamYard, but opted for the latter. We switched to StreamYard from Restream because we found that StreamYard had better branding options for our live streams, and we also wanted the option to add multiple people to our live streams easily. The services were the same price. Pros Things I like: - The flexibility you have with branding is impressive. You can select the styling for the live comments that come up during the stream. You can choose coloring options via HEX for most of the on-screen elements. And you can add your own logo and full-screen overlays to streams - The multi-person streaming feature is seamless. We have not used it yet, but plan to have live guests on our live streams in the future. - The private chat for guests of the live stream is wonderful Cons Things I dislike: - It would be nice to have an easier way to switch overlays during the live stream. The overlay selection is hidden in the branding menu, so when you are mid-stream and looking at comments, you have to click away from the comments tab and into the branding tab to change the full-screen overlay. - The single code login is excellent for solo operators, but for teams, it's HORRIBLE. I can't update our company Streamyard account settings unless I have the account owner login to their email and send their login code. What kind of app doesn't have an email/password login? And they don't have great team settings either! They quadrupled their price to over $400, which has pushed me into looking at all the alternatives and I will switch when my year is up. They decided to "ADD" a lot of features which I will never use as I am a small podcaster, and then have now started to drop the ball on the essentials. For instance local recordings have just disappeared, Audio cutting in and out on local recordings, but on the video file the audio doesn't have any of these cutouts. The processing of the audio gets stuck and never finishes. Pros StreamYard is a very simple software to use, there's nothing complicated about it. At the organization, we run many live stream sessions especially during the lockdown and that's when we discovered Streamyard which we found to be a really cool software and never looked back since then. We loved how it integrates well with almost if not all social media platforms and it can run on two different social media platforms at the same time which makes it very easy for us in our streams. In my personal Youtube channel, I used streamyard a couple of times in hosting guests to my channel virtually and I loved it, even more, the ability to add more co-hosts to the live was really great plus it automatically records the sessions. Cons I really don't have any cons for this software as they have kept on improving the software and made it better and easier for us to use. April 16, 2026 1.0 Pros Software has potential but got worse after I paid for it. Cons This is the first time I've ever seen a product STOP working after paying for it! Everything worked fine in the free trial. Then we upgraded to a paid plan, and immediately after, our webinar registration stopped working. Everything was functioning properly before the upgrade. This issue wasn’t caught immediately, and we ended up spending ~$300 in ads sending traffic to a non-functional page. We’ve reached out through support and every social media channel, but received practically zero assistance despite telling the support team that our webinar is in 5 days! This has been a frustrating experience, especially given that the issue appeared right after becoming a paying customer. It’s difficult to justify relying on a platform when a core feature breaks at such a critical moment and resolution isn’t immediate. I wish I could recommend this software because it does have potential but it is still the first software that I have EVER seen that got worse after I paid for it. Save your money. I tried once to go live using the option that the is available through YouTube. The option they have is completely satisfactory for what it is intended for . Foe me the issue was that i was nrevous the first few times I broadcasted live. Streamyard gave me the option of setting everything up how I wanted it and even having the ability to pull others up on panel with me so I felt less overwhelmed. This is done by sending the guest the link provided by Streamyard and once they click it they can easily join you on screen. The chat box is very easy to use and is large enough that I can focus reading on it while still speaking to the audience. The banners offered are great to post a disclaimer when using video or images that are not your own. Overall great experience! Pros In addition to teaching I run a growing You tube channel. To grow in audience numbers, I realized the time had come to "GO live" meaning that subscribers would have the opportunity to watch you in real time and interact as you are broadcasting. You Tube offers a basic feature to do this. I became aware that larger channels were using a third parting streaming service to go live in order to offer extra features such as split screen so a guest could appear live with you, add banners and interact in a way that you could slow down chat when needed and make it a more flawless experience. There are many choices of streaming apps so I set out to find one that would work for me. Streamyard was my second experiment and so far I am still using it. The first one I used was not a good fit. I did not find it user friendly. Streamyard made it simple to be up and streaming in literally minutes. Everything is self explanatory on the site. You can choose exactly how you want it set up before you press "Go Live" so there is no pressure to rush. You can choose between their free plan or paid plans which break down to about $25.00 per month for access to tons of features such as the banner. Honestly the free version gives you a great experience online but if you use this version it will keep the Streamyard logo on during your live broadcast. The paid version takes the logo away and I think it looks more professional without it. Cons I am a fairly new user but I have not run in to any difficulties yet. I attended an event as a guest, and that's what made me decide to use for our business. Ultimately, we decided against live streaming for our business needs so we switched to using Zoom for recorded events. That was more about our business needs and convenience of scheduling guests (for example, recording a podcast, we had guests reschedule last minute, and it was inconvenient to promote live streams and recreate promo materials). Pros We have a podcast that we started doing video and did livestream for engagement. We really enjoyed the features and the ability to have a waiting room, show comments, type highlights/websites in real time. It was easy to use. Cons We had a few issues with guests joining on occasion (this was now 2 years ago though), so a slight learning curve on our end. We have people jumping on and off during the stream to show their drag racing car setups, people asking questions in the chat, and special guests. Versatile and powerful tool" May 22, 2021 5.0 I resisted using Sgreamyard, thinking it would be very difficult to learn. Boy was I wrong! I started using it as part of a Livestream Challenge, and love it. The free version has lots of hefty features, so for the average user that may be sufficient. I am going with the first tier paid version so I can switch out backgrounds for my green screen, add my own logo, and livestream to several places at once (i.e., Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube). I am really impressed with the ease and quality of this tool! Pros The learning curve is fairly easy, especially since they provide excellent tutorials; You can work in the "studio" ahead of time to get everything set up; Exceptional quality with the video and sound; I love how easy it is to add banners with urls, calls to action, and other info Nice to do a FB Live and be able to bring people on the screen with you -- and show chat comments to everyone. We run frequent livestreams and online conferences, and being able to link guests directly to an in-browser studio with built in, easy to use production tools has made our whole lives better. It looks fantastic, our guests almost never have a problem figuring it out, and it's been extremely reliable. Cons StreamYard's single biggest missing feature is captioning or a way to pull captions into the system easily. It's really the only thing that we wish was built in.
