### "Best Bang for the Buck"

We love the ease of charting, coding and billing. Also the MIPS and MU data collection and submission allowed us to attest successfully every year. I am a fan.

Pros

I feel it is very intuitive. Its design also allows for a staged implementation which allowed our staff to become proficient in one area before adding another component to their workflow.

Cons

I don't like the reports. They are very hard to generate and not intuitive and I've had recent data errors which are still not resolved. I also think that utilizing software designers overseas which is apparent due to the language used in various aspects in the program, results in awkward phrasing and can lead to misunderstanding overall. One ex of this: the appointment reminder.....Here is what it says: Appointment Reminder for \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] if you cannot attend. "....cannot attend." It's awkward and not what is generally used to confirm an appointment. Maybe if you were responding to an invitation. But not confirming an appointment. It sounds weird.

I founded Greater Carolina Ear, Nose & Throat in 1997. I have three offices in North Carolina where we serve 200 patients a month and specialize in otolaryngology, allergies and sinus. Before I implemented WRS, I was using another EMR. The system wasn’t easily accessible and it didn’t offer Meaningful Use management. After looking at five EMRs I chose WRS. WRS is user friendly and it offers robust billing capabilities. WRS also has the certifications that enabled us to qualify for Meaningful Use incentive monies. Having a web-based EMR enables me to access the system from any location and wherever there is an Internet connection. The system is also really affordable. One of the many perks of the integrated system is WRS E-prescribing capability. It provides me with a list of medications and I can keep track of the medicines I prescribe. E-prescribing also lessens the potential for medication abuse, which can occur with paper scripts. The ENT Note Templates in WRS are very comprehensive. There are a variety of ENT templates, and my providers have customized the templates to the exam that they do. I added a skin section to the ENT template since many of my patients have complaints about their skin. I am able to define if their skin is red, inflamed or swollen. I can compare these conditions the following visit. This shows me if they have improved or not and if there are new conditions arising. I also like the pediatric ENT template. It’s very helpful when you see children because they can’t always verbalize their complaints. WRS Automatic Patient Appointment Reminders are extremely beneficial. I have seen my staff’s efficiency increase because they aren’t spending time making phone calls to remind patients that they have an appointment. Patients get an automatic email and a call reminding them of their appointment. Finally, what differentiates WRS from other EMR companies is the superb customer service and support. Other EMR companies walk away after a couple of training sessions, but WRS provides continued support. The WRS Team is very responsive.

### "Past patient evaluations easily incorporated into a new visit and management of allergy patients is a benefit."

Satisfactory EHR system but needs improvements.

Pros

Cloud based, easy to adapt and develop specific templates for a global visit to include CPT and ICD-10 codes.

Cons

Does not incorporate the referring physician so that letters to referral MDs are hard to send out. Need to update the fax numbers of all the physicians in the referral area which requires administration of the team to perform. The instructional videos are out of date with the newer versions of the software.

I opened Denton Combs, CNP; a solo ENT and allergy practice in Sioux Falls, SD. After using a free EMR for several months, I decided to look for a new system because I was having difficulty with billing. The system wasn’t integrated and that was a problem. I looked at almost a dozen EMRs. I wanted a system that was customized for my type of practice. WRS can be customized to ENT, but I also care for patients with diabetes and cholesterol issues. WRS is also beneficial when I treat these patients. WRS is a completely integrated EMR, meaning that everything is connected, which is very convenient. I am extremely impressed with WRS Billing Services and Billing Module, which are also integrated in the EMR. I have very few claims rejections. WRS informs me if I have missed any elements of the exam, which is beneficial when entering codes. WRS e-prescribing capability enables my staff to save time. They can send Rxs without having to make phone calls to the pharmacy. Patients are happy with getting their prescriptions fast. Because we are located in South Dakota, where inclement weather is a given, having accessibility to patients records when we are out of the office was crucial. WRS offers unlimited accessibility. My Nurse and Medical Assistant access WRS from home even when the weather isn’t bad. They are able to log onto WRS Patient Portal to see if patients have any questions or messages. Another advantage of using WRS is that in the evening, I can prepare for the patients I will be seeing the next day. When I am at home, I can look at their lab reports and charts and be ready for patients. WRS automatic Patient Reminders are advantageous. Patients receive calls or emails prior to their appointment. This capability also gets the staff away from being on the phone so they can provide more care to patients and answer their questions. This is helpful since I add a lot of new patients every month. WRS is very user friendly. It was simple to learn how to use the system, and it's also a very affordable EMR; not to mention the WRS Team is very responsive.

My practice is Mid State ENT. My partner and I have two offices, one in Hendersonville and the other in Gallatin,TN. We also work at a couple of hospitals and a couple of surgery centers. Every week we each see about 90 patients and our nurse practitioner sees about 40 patients. We had used many different systems over the past ten years, but we were not happy with any of them. We were very interested in obtaining Meaningful Use financial incentives and WRS helped us to meet all of the criteria. We recently received our MU monies. We previously tried to e-prescribe, but with our previous system, it was labor intensive. E-prescribing is integrated into WRS, so it is not difficult to e-prescribe anymore. E-prescribing is convenient for our patients and it enables us to better track their medications. WRS training was superb. We had one-on-one training. WRS tutorials are extremely beneficial, especially the tutorials about templates and how to create them. One of the many benefits of WRS is the Fax Queue. I no longer have a bunch of papers on my desk. Everything comes into our queue. One of the greatest perks about WRS web-based EMR is that we can access it from anywhere. We often get phone calls in the evening from patients who may need more pain medication. It’s easy to access their records and ascertain whether they underwent surgery and if it is realistic that they need more medicine at this time. Our ability to treat patients at night or on weekends, instead of sending them to the ER has increased patient satisfaction. Finally, I highly recommend WRS. I’m very satisfied with the templates and the quality of my notes.

Pros

WRS is web-based and has virtually 0% downtime. Start-up is quick.

Cons

We were told that the product was highly customizable. We found that customizing is not that user-friendly. Technical support requires opening a ticket and spending a lot of time typing back and forth.
