I like that there are many people on Facebook so setting up a Business account and advertising here makes sense and it isn't super expensive at the moment. I don't like that the targeting is limited or that the customer service feels non-existent. The customer service issue is my BIGGEST complaint. It feels like you're putting money into a system, yet, if something goes wrong, you're not guaranteed to have customer satisfaction. You're basically on your own. Pros Most people are on Facebook, so advertising here is a good top-of-the-funnel strategy. We've gotten a lot of click-throughs and awareness through our Facebook ads. As far as the software itself is concerned, my favorite feature is probably the breakdown with targeting and the analytics. Cons The customer service is pretty much non-existent. It's a fairly normal complaint to hear people say they were overcharged through Facebook ads without the users consent. I tried to lodge a complaint to Facebook about this, and was even given an email back saying they would contact me. But crickets followed. I had to take the issue up with my bank who had to reimburse me. Even though I like the ease of use with targeting ads, I don't like that there are so many limitations with the targeting. If you have a unique niche, it's not always easy to find things that fit. They need to get better at allowing you to target people who like moderate-sized Facebook pages and not just the really big accounts. Review Source KM Kristina M. Pros With a huge audience and some great, varied targeting, Facebook/Instagram ads are a great tool in your marketing arsenal. It works great for a lot of industries, but especially for retail. To make the best of it, use varied content like video and images and constantly test. Cons Your account can be banned at any point and for anything. It has become worse in recent years and I would definitely suggest that you don't only rely on this one channel. Other downfalls are certain integrations, tracking not being accurate after iOS 14 and general confusion in navigating through the facebook business manager. February 22, 2018 2.0 Pros It's popular, so it's easy to connect with others who like the same things- in theory. It's robust, so hosting your business groups and pages there should help with keeping your customers informed of new sales and things- in theory. Facebook is fee to use- in theory. Cons Facebook lied. They told businesses and authors to use pages to reach people. So everyone invested everything they had into getting page likes. We paid for ads, we recruited, we marketed our behinds off. Once we did that, Facebook changed their tune, and started charging us to have those people that LIKED our page be able to see us at all. Now, they've gone further, and have decided that what people really want to see in their feeds are friends and family, plus their worthless ads for large companies that paid Facebook off. Cons We are very targeted and granular with our desired audience and constantly struggle for acceptance of our ads, either due to the content of the ad or the destination. Cons Even though we make up a big majority of Meta business users there is no way for us Event and party rental companies to run a shop or offer services. We can create ads that do little for the cost but we should be able to list in our shop or on marketplace for rentals other than homes.
