The user Pros Linkedin for Business is a very robust and powerful software enhanced with features to monitor and reach out to people for your business purposes. Powered with all filters, it is the best software to reach out to prospects, and contacts and make proper networking for your organization's needs. Journalist Publishing Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Still underrated" July 8, 2020 4.0 I've found it incredibly useful as a journalist to find company or public figures, because on other social networks it always feels like you're invading people's space. On LinkedIn, it feels like everybody is there to network, ready and open. Pros What I like most about LinkedIn is that it's only lazy people who say: "nobody uses LinkedIn." If you can get over just the initial awkwardness of putting yourself out there for the entire job market to see, then you're already a percentile jump ahead of the competition. But just having your profile out there forces you to polish off your credentials and start asking yourself the question: "how do I want to market myself?" Cons The downside of LinkedIn is that there isn't a clearly defined etiquette. Sure, we know that it's more professional than other social networks, but the script becomes vague when it comes to asking people for things who are more senior, or bluntly saying that you want a job. I can also use the LinkedIn Platform to research companies to know more about them before attending their interviews. Cons I realized that some jobs still being advertised are old and already filled. Some jobs are illegal and could have easily been scammed if not alerted by colleagues that there are some fake employers with fake user profiles. The typical profile of LinkedIn members in high tech are they always have employment, and stay available to see if there is a next step in their career they need to consider when a job req is Inmailed to them. For hiring managers they can increase their network of possible people they could hire on their team, or get the word out to their network that they are hiring and through referral find candidates. I like the education section as a goto when i need to learn something - that is a nice additional function Cons always lots to explore and more than you can use at any one time, so I never feel i am utilizing it fully. I regularly use it to post content and learn from other professionals and courses from LinkedIn Learning. Pros I am using LinkedIn's paid version for over 2 years along with their free profile option since 2012 actively. I really like how LinkedIn provides insight into a job with your current skill matching. So, you can modify your profile to take that course on LinkedIn Learning to take yourself one step ahead to apply for the job. Cons What I did not like is a limited feature for the free version, that doesn't allow us to search more than a number of specific queries. Is also limits it's paid users like me for not being able to connect to more than 80 - 100 people every day. Reason for choosing LinkedIn for Business Though LinkedIn's social media is unmatched to anything. But, for LinkedIn Learning subscription, I chose it over Udemy for better-created courses than the marketplace like Udemy. Cons Recently there are many new features and there are multiple paid options so it can get confusion on what to purchase or what plan is the best for you. You can visit pages of companies, evaluate their jobs and offers. The presence of salary estimates gives you a broader horizon of the company. Cons One has to get into a paid subscription so that most of the essential features get unlocked. Otherwise, you may not get any detailed information on the pages you might be visiting. If paid, you could also see who even visited your pages. Although the update is made for an easier tasking, it often creates a lot of confusion. Spam is another problem that has to be dealt with. They turn out to be quite expensive for smaller business groups.
