It is one of the tools I use the most to generate qualified leads and new business. Cons Credits have a limited time to be used, if not, they expire... I also miss some CRM capabilities to handle contacts that have been reached and also prospecting status, converted prospects and so on. I also miss some Outlook integration. I have used the private messaging to communicate with others, such as recruiters. I have used the job search extensively to search for and to apply for jobs. Pros I like how you can search for persons by name or by institution, you can send private messages to your contacts, you can upload documents to your profile, and I like the daily feed with links to up to date news headlines. I also like the job search in LinkedIn, which allows you to search by industry, job title, or location, and that when you apply to a specific job it will refer you to the listing at the agency or through the recruiter. Cons When you check who has viewed your profile, some users are labeled as private, so that you can't tell what industry or company they are in. Review Source DS Danker S. Sofar, Linkedin has been juseful to me for finding consultants for projects, and for discussions of general development issues. Pros Linkedin is useful for connecting with people and establishing contacts, for project/ job opportunities, discussions of "hot topics", exchange of ideas that pertain to deveopment issues. Cons Nothing in the setup of the Linkedin interface is missing. It's just that the whole layout is quite complex and not particularly "user-friendly". It looks so professional and I like that it connect users with people world wide. There is no single day where I received a scam job listed on Linkedin. It is the best application for job listing. I am so attached to the content that is posted on this app its so appealing. Also I have meet new friends on campus because of this app. Cons I have not find anything concrete to criticize or dislike yet. It saves holding onto a huge amount of business cards and should one of your contacts move jobs, you're the first to know and don't have to go through the embarrassing colloquial email to a 'work friend' who has left their company, only to find out through the replacement who has been there for 2 months. Cons \- The app isn't as user friendly as the website. - Constantly bombarded, at least 3 time a day, by emails from LinkedIn and it's not easy to find out how to change the preferences. It seems you either turn off all notifications or have all on. Pros What I like most about this software is its ease of use paired with its invaluable ability to express an individual and his/her professional background and abilities. This makes it simple for potential employers to find employees and vice versa. I like that this software can be accessed from any device at any location as long as there is an internet connection. Lastly, I like that it is easy to learn how to use, making it possible for everyone to use it, regardless of familiarity level. Cons There are not many negatives to point out about this software, but if I had to choose one, it would be the necessity to purchase a particular type of plan in order to be able to access even more detailed information about general salary information, employer information, etc. Had this aspect of the software been complimentary as well, it would have been really nice. September 6, 2016 5.0 LinkedIn has really helped me grow as a professional and allowed me to network at the click of a button. I am able to connect with colleagues around the country. I go to conferences a couple times a year, and as I meet new individuals from different institutions, I am able to add them on LinkedIn and really stay in touch. Recently, I have utilized the group function of LinkedIn. We went to a conference, and afterwards created a LinkedIn group to stay in touch and talk about trending topics in the realm of higher education. Pros Customization, LinkedIn Groups, and Ease of Use for a terrific value is great. Cons I haven't run into anything i would change yet.
