Prepping for any call with Linkedin is so easy, as I can quickly dive into someone's profile and find some key points to talk about that i can relate to. In other words, I find that Linkedin's business tools are pretty much a MUST for any business development role and sales teams. Cons I find that the advanced search is ok but a bit lacking. I'd love to see some technographic data on what kind of tools the company is using now. so the filters are ok but more data is needed as you can't really run everything from Linkedin (as a plugin for the CRM or directly from the platform ) Review Source IZ Ibrahim Z. LinkedIn search and referencing features are very useful to matching roles with candidates Cons Creating a profile can be challenging at times and as everything in life if you want to obtain a good result you must invest time on it. Some automated tools (á la Google) that use ML to predict some information could make the process easier/quicker. I was one of the first in the company to request a Premium membership, and now the whole company has a Sales Navigator account. Some of my best writing projects have come as a result of a cold intro on LinkedIn or seeing something in my feed. As long as people continue to see LinkedIn as a trustworthy, professional source of info, it will continue to be worth the paid/upgraded account. Cons The customer support has a lot to be desired. Last year an employee left the company and we didn't realize until after he was gone that he was the administrator of a group. LinkedIn customer support was zero help whatsoever in getting his admin privileges revoked, and furthermore we couldn't change basic info about the group because he controlled the settings. Also, the new limitations in the groups are really disappointing. Our team had invested many years in to building one group page to 5,000+ opt-in people, and now being able to send a message to them is next to impossible. If you have 0 experience in the business ecosystem you can login, start connecting with people you know and work your way in from there. It is free promotion for yourself and helps you understand the business world better. Cons The ad system in Linkedin is actually my least favorite ad manager in any social network. I understand why ads are more expensive but the ads manager is SO confusing and hard to learn. They NEED a rework there. We received lots of profiles in comparison to other local platforms in peru because candidates already have their profile updated in LinkedIn and doesn’t need to fill new information. Cons The cost is high when publishing individual job offers. Couldn’t figure how to get packages instead of paying one by one. They also show you people who went to your alma mater or just people with similar certification/work history to help see maybe where you can end up. In a matter of hours I had already started receiving inquiries from interested candidates. I was able to rule out the ones that did not meet my criteria to not waste time. Overall very pleased with the options and how I can customize the attributes I am seeking to fill the positions I offer. Cons The only thing I would say is maybe it automatically renew if possible because I think I had to go back in and set it up again but not a real big deal I am just a super busy person so I made myself a note of when it was about to expire. I like also having my network visible on the right to see who's around and some I haven't seen in sometime. I don't spend a lot of time here so I try to explore and use many of the features when I do. Pros I love the new revamped LinkedIn much more than the older design. Yes, it feels quite similar to Facebook, but with its feed it's now easier to see what your contacts are posting while keeping the business sections like job/resume search and business networking separate. It's actually possible to socialize casually here now, lol. The best of both worlds are harmonizing in this well thought and designed platform. Cons Approaching the new design at first can be overwhelming with the main feed, notifications, messages, connections, following business pages. Pros The number of people using Linkedin on a daily basis is impressive. It's the best network to share professional content. Cons It would be great to have better and more filters on people search. Cost of any of their tools is very high. On one hand that is very good because there's not advertising and you are not spammed in messages, but on the other hand a tool like sales navigator is not accessible for startups and micro companies, who also need to network in their industry. Pros The software has a good ease of use within a very simplified layout and is very intuitive in data search and use. Cons One point that can be done in the software is the possibility of putting a slightly more simplified layout for the beginner user, as the layout is quite complex given the many functions available, a more simplified version would be interesting for less experienced users.
