June 28, 2026 5.0 Sage X3 has provided us with comprehensive features and systems for ERP and production management. It has reliable customer support services and multichannel management features. Use of the software has enabled us to manage our distribution channels and ware houses. Pros The software is user-friendly and well suited for enterprise resource planning. Use of the product helps us in executing complex ERP processes and streamlines general financial management. Through use of the product we have been able to properly manage our finances, inventories and purchase orders. Sage X3 is highly customizable and has a smooth learning curve. The issues with it is that is is hard to scale. It is difficult to get out of the box functionality to work without having to get specialist help which can come at a price. The system feels quite clunky with multiple steps to get to a result or output. Maybe better for smaller businesses. Pros Sage X3 is a good financial system for a small to medium company. Transactions are easy to track and to post with the relevant screens that can be navigated through. It is also good for a company with multiple entities as these can be interchanged and tracked easily. The reporting functionality 'SEI' which is an excel add in is quite good and allows individuals to create reports which can be used for relevant purposes. This is a quick and easy way of getting information from the system. the debtors and creditors aging reporting is also quite good which allows us to see a good overview of the transactional aspects of the business. Cons Difficult to make any changes if required. There is little information available for self help so if any changes need to be made or assistance then this usually requires an additional cost or discussions with specialists which can be timely and costly. For example, a change in the year end date was not easy for us as there has been forward postings for deferred revenue. Additionally control is a bit lacking with Sage X3, it is difficult to do things like close down month end or specify roles due to having to look in multiple places. A simple month end close you have to go to about 4/5 screens so it is easy to make mistakes here. It is also difficult to upgrade when different patches are released and usually you have to get specialist help with this which can be expensive. Review Source UK Usman K. The software does so well when it comes to inventory tracking and order process automation. It is very customisable and is easy to deploy and implement. Sage X3 allows us to create custom reports and seamlessly track our inventories. Through use of the product we are able to effectively manage our orders and all procurement related processes. It is an effective tool for product based businesses with complex stock systems. Pros Sage X3 is a useful tool for accountants in a manufacturing based business looking to keep track of various stock types. It has an approachable interface that can be utilised in various ways to generate stock reports and utililisation reports. Cons The initial issues i had with X3 were in relation to the learning curve, it can be quite difficult to fully adapt to the system and understand how to use all the tools effectively. All of our integrations work great. It is a solid solution for an ERP system! Pros We use an industry specific custom build on top of the base X3 system. It works great with our customizations and the SQL database back end is solid. Cons As it is all web-based, some of the functionality is a little clunky when compared to Sage MAS500 it's predecessor. Cons After login it takes several seconds to see the landing page. It's difficult to determine cause of some issues and error messages can be cryptic, requiring us to contact support in many cases, even for seemingly simple problems. Pros Sage X3 is good software with a very robust set of features. Tasks such as completing quotes and orders are easy to complete. Our implementation was, at one time, highly customized. M&A activities and switching support organizations resulted in updates overlaying custom code and loss of custom functionality. The excuse of "That is not our code!" when attempting a recovery is not a viable answer for us. Pros This is a very functional and complex ERP application. A robust and expensive to support. Cons The support model is lacking in overall expertise. We have used changed support organizations twice due to lack of knowledge on attempting to implement a 3rd party application. Sharing and collaboration of resources between the organizations is cumbersome and the pricing for this expertise, due to complexity of the application, is very expensive.
