It has successfully solved our problem of fragmented systems by bringing inventory, sales, and operations into one single platform. Even though the implementation takes effort and requires a solid budget, it offers incredible value for money in the long run because of how much manual work it automates. It has fundamentally streamlined our day-to-day business processes and made our entire supply chain way more predictable. Pros What I honestly like most about Sage X3 is how deeply it handles process automation across different departments. The inventory management module is incredibly robust; it gives you real-time visibility into stock levels, multi-warehouse tracking, and global supply chains without breaking a sweat. It also ties beautifully into sales management, meaning orders automatically update stock counts and trigger production or shipping workflows instantly. On top of that, the security features are enterprise-grade, giving us full control over user roles, permissions, and audit trails so sensitive financial data stays protected. Cons The biggest drawback is definitely the learning curve. Sage X3 is massive, and because it is so highly customizable, onboarding new users takes a lot of time and hands-on training. It’s not an "out-of-the-box" software you can figure out in a weekend. Also, during initial configuration or major system updates, we ran into minor bugs and performance issues that required reaching out to technical support. While their customer support team is knowledgeable, getting complex issues resolved can sometimes take longer than expected because of how deeply customized our system is. Review Source UK Usman K. It was not an appropriate choice for a complex distribution business like ours. We have only been able to use it for a small number of users at a small business unit. Sage has been a poor partner, clearly seeing us as a revenue source and not a business partner. They deflected our technical questions back to their 3rd party sales channel and offer little for the support fees that we pay them. Never sign a contract with Sage that might have support fees for a preproduction system, make them share the risk of a delayed deployment. Pros The modern user interface and feature richness. The ability to add custom fields and business logic in the core processes. Users can customize the menu system to exactly what they need and skip the rest. Cons Sage charging us for services that we could not use. Their warranty is designed to be useless. The 3rd party add on for warehouse management called Datalinx is closed source and takes way too much back and forth to get customizations made by the small staff in England. I was misled by our Sage partner that Datalinx was just as customizable as core X3. Without Datalinx X3s warehouse/barcode abilities were so dismal that they would not even sell it to me. They switched to subscription only and seem to dislike us because we have a perpetual license, even though we pay annual support. If having control over the OS and database you use is important then this is a really attractive option against other purely cloud solutions I surveyed. But the choice of deployment will determine not only hosting costs, but what kind of auth and integration options are actually available to the organisation. Pros The deployment flexibility is for real, it's not a check box. My ability to select my own OS, database and choose on premises or cloud without rearchitecting the application to switch later gave me more architectural control than most cloud only ERPs I have reviewed for this process. Cons The dual API issue is what I'd caution about. The system is still in the process of transitioning older modules from the older screen based logic to the new class based way so there is a split.Some modules only support SOAP and others support the new class based Web API so thete is no one cohesive integration pattern throughout the system. The flexibility stand out. we’ve adjusted workflow, built custom reports using the query tool, and connected it with other system through web services. It handles multi location stock and finance together, which saves a lit of back and forth. Cons The learning curve is real. Some workflows are not very obvious and you need proper training to understand how things connect. Documentation could be better in some areas. All of our integrations work great. It is a solid solution for an ERP system! Pros We use an industry specific custom build on top of the base X3 system. It works great with our customizations and the SQL database back end is solid. Cons As it is all web-based, some of the functionality is a little clunky when compared to Sage MAS500 it's predecessor. Marketing Coordinator Real Estate Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Sage X3 for sales management" February 1, 2023 4.0 Sage X3 is a great solution in our company to keep order in our sales management helping us from the accounting part to the inventory issue with a great accuracy that helps in our company to increase our productivity and maintain an order that has been forming for years, being key to business development. Paperwork-filled processes were left behind in our company since we have been using Sage X3. Pros Sage X3 has an excellent user interface, it feels like all the icons and elements are in the right place to do the best job possible, keeping our users happy and familiar with all the possible tools within the platform. Importing and exporting data can be done in bulk helping us keep our file central up to date and saving a great deal of time. This tool is not suggested for small companies since the amount of functions and where it is directed goes far beyond, a very powerful tool that has minimal flaws that gradually have been resolved, the tool provides a lot of support when it is implemented correctly which is not easy, and its customer service is not as good as expected of a very powerful tool. Cons One of the things that have caused us most intrigue is that its error messages are not in our native language, so if we do not speak another language it is impossible to understand what it is about, it would be a good point to improve. The initial configuration of Sage X3 is not as simple as expected, which forced us to hire third parties to make it work and this represented an extra expense that was not contemplated in the investment.
