### "A Rare Thing: Technology That Behaves Itself"

March 30, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been consistently positive. It’s a platform that respects both the teacher’s time and the student’s experience. Lessons run smoothly, the tools support rather than hinder, and one is left with the rare sensation that the technology is on one’s side. In a world where many digital platforms seem to exist purely to test one’s patience, Lessonspace is a welcome exception: calm, competent, and quietly effective.

Pros

Lessonspace’s greatest strength is that it quietly gets on with its job. The value for money is excellent when you consider how much time it saves not having to troubleshoot mid-lesson—time which, as any teacher knows, is the only truly non-renewable resource. The learning curve is refreshingly gentle. One doesn’t need to embark on a spiritual journey or consult a series of obscure tutorials to understand how it works. You log in, and—brace yourself—it makes sense. In terms of online learning, it strikes an ideal balance: interactive without being chaotic. The notes and text tools are clear and responsive, and crucially, they don’t feel like an afterthought. Chat and communication features are similarly well-judged—present when needed, but not constantly clamouring for attention like an overenthusiastic assistant. Assignment management is straightforward and practical, which is precisely what one wants. No labyrinthine systems, no unnecessary flourishes—just a functional, reliable way to set and review work. Security, while not something one notices in a dramatic sense (which is rather the point), feels solid and reassuring. One isn’t left wondering who else might be wandering into the lesson uninvited.

Cons

If one were being determinedly critical, there are moments where one thinks, “Could this be just slightly more customisable?” A few additional tweaks or personalisation options might elevate it from excellent to faintly smug about its excellence. But these are minor quibbles—more the sort of thing one mentions to avoid sounding unreasonably content.

### "Great platform, terrible customer support"

January 27, 2026

2.0

This is primarily a B2B product. Tutoring companies such as mine, subscribe to the platform to deliver our product - teaching students. If something isn't working, we cannot do business. I feel that as soon as they signed me up, they disappeared. I have only ever has two issues: the first was with teacher on-boarding and the response I received to that question was one of the rudest responses I have ever had (my solution/workaround is to pay two of my teachers to train new tutors on my dime) and the second, with needing support for a teacher account. If this company had a robust support system and team, they would be a 10-star company.

Pros

The platform itself is great. The interface is good and my tutors and students really like it. Having all my tutors/teachers using the same platform makes our company look more professional. It integrates seamlessly with Teachworks which is fantastic. This is a big win for my small company and makes the downsides to this product \*almost\* worth it.

Cons

There is virtually NO support. No support line to call - only an AI-driven chat bot that takes days and days (if ever) to respond. Recently, what this meant for my business, is we had to resort to Zoom (at this point, for five sessions and counting) to tutor a student. All because there was some sort of glitch with a teachers registration and account. Something that possibly could have been solved in a five minute phone call. But despite an initial, unhelpful, response that took three days to receive, the issue is ongoing. I have reached out to sales, the support chat, email. NOTHING. I have gone from mildly irritated to totally irate. And this is student who works with other tutors in my organization and fully uses her LessonSpace account. We look unprofessional.

Hi Suzanne, thank you for sharing your honest review. We’re glad to hear the platform itself has been working well for your tutors and students. We’re sorry to hear about your negative experience with our support operations. While we do offer an AI chatbot for instant answers, all technical issues are handled by our human support team - and it’s clear we didn’t meet expectations here. ### "XL Tuition - Initial Feedback"

January 31, 2026

3.0

In general, I'm not sure how to describe it, but the platform is a bit "clunky" - i.e. not intuitive, and a little bit un-user-friendly. It would be fantastic if things could work more smoothly and obviously right from the beginning for our new tutors and learners. However, as we get used to the platform, I'm sure we'll become more fluent with it – and the awesome features hopefully will make it worthwhile.

Pros

I love the feature-rich environment – with graphs, equations, the library of numerous things to be able to bring in to a lesson. The infinite whiteboard, and multiple tabs gives a lot of versatility in creating teaching and learning space. The video display options are also pretty good. We hope that we can get the resources working nicely for our organisation and possibly even integrate Moodle. We'll see how it goes.

Cons

Unfortunately there are some challenges that we are finding. A number of our students join on their phones – and their browser may not be supported – so they only see a limited part of the screen. Even when turning the phone sideways, when still sees a very limited view – there doesn't seem to be a fullscreen option from the learners side. Tab management is a big area where I think things could be improved. Often, I'm finding that various tabs are "disappearing" behind the Main Room tab. Then what would be really helpful, is being able to save a tab, or archive it – rather than leaving it open as the only way to keep it. Without this feature, particular lesson space for the tutor and learner gets up with multitudes of tabs. I realise one can export and import, but it would be much better for it to be on the system – so, being able to save a tab, in that specific space – give it a name, and then reopen it when one wants to refer back to it.

### "There is no competition YET, but it must keep innovating to keep SEN teachers "

January 22, 2026

4.0

There is no comparison, now, but I am not yet settled because being able to go beyond just sharing a screen was priceless.

Pros

I love that everything for your lesson, even for your semester, can be laid out and organized in one space. The fact that this space is so interactive and fun to use is what pulls me again and again.

Cons

I hated losing the ability to share games for children. This year I have seriously considered leaving because of that. Working with ND students who need little incentives like coloring or playing a game online together, the loss is large. Moreover, I wish there was a way to see the entire space in an aerial view to find missing items. I am always writing to people -wasting their valuable time, because I lose pieces of my main space. Also, the library is so limited. Better to come together with Canva.

Everything is here. It is a one-stop shop and the integration of tools recently is promising although quite expensive for teachers like myself who need to have a small number of students in an intervention space that spans many years of teaching. I also felt Zoom was less safe given pandemic events.

### "Overall great with some minor flaws"

December 21, 2025

4.0

I have been using it for over a year now and it is my prefered space for quantitative teaching and demonstrations, though some tools can be improved such as the user of two screens for the teachers with different inputs and out puts

Pros

many tools for different forms of learning and student demographics, the integration of the library and co browser and screen share capabilities are great along with the equation tools

Cons

the intense learning curve, the tech glitches and can make lesson hard to navigate, some of my students get repeatedly kicked out of the space by the program itself causing much time to be devoted to going over what already has been said. There needs a more laptop friendly way to draw with the track pad and improve its accuracy

### "Make Virtual Teaching EASY and ENGAGING!"

November 18, 2025

4.0

Overall, it has been great! The platform has come a long way since we first started using it and you can tell the company and team is dedicated to making the best tool and experience possible - which is greatly appreciated! Being able to integrate Lessonspace into our scheduling platform, Teachworks, makes starting sessions super simple and keeps everything in one place. New coaches express how easy the interface is to use once they get into it. There are so many things you can do in Lessonspace, I feel like I learn something new every time I log in!

Pros

Lessonspace makes online tutoring SUPER engaging and interactive without having a ton of extra tabs open on your computer - everything can be done from WITHIN the space! The Co-Browser is THE BEST tool and makes it so easy to collaborate with students. I also love how the everything I do in the space with a student STAYS in the space so we can work on it the next time and the student can see it between sessions. The Lessonspace support team is also fantastic. They are quick to respond and always adding new features and tools.

Cons

There are a few minor things that could make the user experience more streamlined. For example, when you select a new color for the pen tool, the color box doesn't automatically go away and sometimes it blocks where you are trying to write. The video quality is also quite poor and blurring the background makes it REALLY bad. Sometimes the site seems to lag - especially during peak tutoring hours (4pm - 6pm EST) which can make session tough. Lastly, when you share screen, you cannot see the video of the student unless you pop out the video - yes, it is a simple work around, but it would be nice if it was automatic like Zoom. There are lots of work around and multiple ways to do thing in Lessonspace, so nothing has been a big issue.

### "Amazing Tutoring Interface!"

January 28, 2026

5.0

My overall experience has been positive. All my families enjoy it and find it easy to use. The tools are accessible and helpful. Pricing is great and I have never had any issues!

Pros

I love how easy it is to use Lessonspace. I have a dedicated space for each student, and it saves our work from session to session so we can go back. I work mostly with elementary aged children and they are easily able to use the tools and even share their screen. They love the emojis and the extra things I can do such as fireworks, and confetti! I also love love love the co-browser which allows all participants to use my shared screen, making games and activities more engaging and fun! It was easy for me to learn how to use the tools as well as teach my students.

Cons

I wish I was able to create a board in one session and copy and paste it into another student's session. Other than that Lessonspace is a perfect A+!

### "A Great Platform with Some Room to Grow"

November 11, 2025

4.0

Once I've found the space I need among my pages of open spaces, I find working in Lessonspace very efficient. I don't worry that it won't open for me or won't function when it's time to teach. It allows me to work with multiple different tools and celebrate with my students when they succeed. Overall I'm very happy with it.

Pros

There are many things I like about using Lessonspace. As a videoconferencing tool, it's a huge step up from Skype, the platform I used to use. Overall, it's less glitchy, video quality is excellent, and sometimes when a student is having technical difficulties, it's able to point in the direction of what's wrong ("have student check" type of advice). Teaching multiple students at once is as easy as working one-on-one; no lag created by multiple users in the space. Screensharing is possible for both teacher AND student, and it is fast and easy (no cumbersome permissions or multiple steps). I like that I can pull in PDFs and work with them right in the space, as well as creating documents. And even though it's the least "necessary" feature, my favorite feature is the celebrations. Before Lessonspace, I actively thought to myself, I wish there were a way of sending animated confetti (like a text message can send) when my student finishes a big project, so we can celebrate together. And then I arrived in Lessonspace and found confetti AND fireworks, both of which I use excessively when my students succeed.

Cons

Lessonspace has a few places to grow that are not dealbreakers, but are really easy and must be fixed. I have dozens of current and former students, and in order to find the space I need, I have to just scroll for them. That's ridiculous--I should be able to access a list of spaces alphabetically as well as put some spaces into an "inactive" status so they aren't cluttering up my list. Similarly, I save every tab inside a Space with my long-term students so we can track everything we've done--but I have to scroll across the top of the screen instead of seeing them all as a Table of Contents. Those two changes would be huge usability improvements. From the document perspective, if a student is doing a writing project, the limitations of Lessonspace are clear--the document has no 'back/undo' button for changing your mind, no Track Changes to see how a piece has grown, and no Word Count feature, which is often something we need to track for outside expectations.

Switched from

[SkypeTime](https://www.capterra.com/p/173334/SkypeTime/)

My company always had tutors use Skype prior to investing in LessonSpace because it was free and easy to set up. But just before I made the switch to LS, my Skype was growing INCREDIBLY unreliable and glitchy, and months after I made the switch Skype was discontinued forever. I was really glad I had LS set up and ready to go!

### "Great Price, Super Effective as well as Productive and You don't have to be Techy!!"

March 16, 2026

5.0

Lessonspace is super easy to use. Uploading anything, from complete reading passages to workbook pages is simple. I can use a website and have students annotate just as they would in person. My sessions are always interactive, productive and effective!!

Pros

This platform is easy to use. Uploading textbook reading pages and worksheets students can type on, it extremely easy. With no techy skills I'm able to engage my students in effective, productive sessions. A GREAT pro is that I'm able to upload pages and leave them tabbed, all ready for next session. Also, using a website & sharing screen while student can still annotate is so useful. The low monthly fee enables me to keep more of my tutoring earnings!

Cons

Actually, there is nothing in the year I have been using this platform that has disappointed. Only thing is that I'd have to pay a little more if I'd want to access session recordings.

### "Smooth Collaboration with Room to Improve on Mobile"

September 22, 2025

4.0

Great! Lessonspace has been a reliable platform for online learning and collaboration. It balances powerful features with ease of use, and it has made both teaching and learning much smoother. The whiteboard and collaboration tools are intuitive, and the video conferencing integration works well most of the time. While the mobile experience could use some attention, the desktop version offers strong performance and makes it easy to manage sessions, share knowledge, and engage with students effectively.

Pros

I like how each of the tools is smooth and responsive, and I really appreciate that there are keyboard shortcuts. This makes it easy to draw, annotate, and illustrate quickly without breaking the flow of teaching.

Cons

The mobile interface needs improvement, it feels clunky and is almost unusable. I’d also like the option to collapse the video feed while keeping it active, so that the whiteboard can be used in full-screen mode without distraction.

Switched from

I switched to Lessonspace because it offers a more complete virtual classroom environment. Unlike Zoom, which mainly focuses on video conferencing, Lessonspace integrates an interactive whiteboard, collaboration tools, and classroom management features all in one platform. This makes it much easier to teach, illustrate concepts, and keep students engaged without juggling multiple apps.

### "A versatile, intuitive, and reliable platform "

August 22, 2025

5.0

My experience with LessonSpace has been very positive, providing the most reliable, consistent, and versatile platform for delivering online tuition of all the programmes I’ve tried.

Pros

LessonSpace allows me to seamlessly connect with my students in a secure, versatile learning environment. The multiple tabs and ability to use both a text editor and whiteboard allows for easy adaptation to students’ needs, and the persistent online classroom means my students and I can revisit it to retrieve work and information whenever we need to, even between scheduled sessions.

Cons

The apparent removal of the YouTube embed feature some time ago has made it significantly more difficult to share some educational content with students, and there are occasionally some minor technical glitches with the word processor, particularly with bullet point lists.

### "An intuitive and interactive platform that enhances online tutoring"

March 17, 2026

5.0

Overall, my experience with Lessonspace has been very positive. It provides a reliable and intuitive environment for online tutoring, making it easy to deliver engaging and interactive lessons. It has helped me improve how I explain concepts and connect with students, particularly through its visual and collaborative features. With a few minor improvements, it has the potential to be an even more powerful teaching platform.

Pros

What I liked most about Lessonspace was the interactive whiteboard and all-in-one functionality. It allows me to explain concepts clearly in real time using diagrams, annotations, and step-by-step working, which is especially useful for subjects like maths and science. Having video, chat, and teaching tools in one place makes sessions feel smooth and well-structured, without needing to switch between platforms.

Cons

At times, the platform can feel slightly limited in advanced features, such as exporting or saving work in more flexible formats.

### "Lesson space"

March 30, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Lessonspace has been very positive. It’s easy to use, and the shared whiteboard makes lessons interactive and engaging. Compared to Zoom, it feels more collaborative, helping students stay involved and understand concepts more clearly.

Pros

I like using Lessonspace because it makes my lessons more interactive and engaging. The shared whiteboard allows both me and the student to write, draw, and solve problems at the same time, which feels more like working together in person. This feature helps students stay focused and participate actively instead of just listening. Compared to Zoom, it offers a better learning experience because it supports real collaboration rather than one-sided teaching. Overall, it creates a more dynamic environment where ideas can be explained clearly, questions can be answered quickly, and students feel more involved in the learning process every day.

Cons

How it is in browser and no app. Meaning when i join from ipad, sometimes because of my hand whilst writing, it flips off the screen.

Pros

### "Connections are being made between neurons, they just need STRENGTHENING!"

June 1, 2025

4.0

I have the full set up and know 90 percent of how they work together, but wont be terribly pleased until I am fluent. Awesome embedded tools and resources though!

Pros

Just spending the first few hours with the platform I see so many connections to my background in teaching. The more tools I find the more ideas I have and am very impressed. Reading the snippets about post its and finding the math tools filled me with ideas. I would love to cross curricular work with students letter formation and letters. I am trained in "RE-training knowledge that has not moved into long term memory and the dice, lines and curves set me on a full lesson write up.

Cons

The challenge is becoming comfortable fluently so as not to impact student learning. Even though my back ground is dyslexia, dysgraphia and primary students PK-2 I desperately wanted to set up 2 color coded vocab dumps to have a student develop their understanding but I couldn't find a good size to make t charts with the shapes. It will just take practice.

### "One of the best online teaching platforms available"

April 25, 2025

5.0

Lessonspace is my go-to platform since it is well suited to quantitative subjects (love the built-in graphing function that can be used collaboratively!) as well as more text-heavy subjects. As mentioned above, I also appreciate that it is not as overloaded with functions as some of the other platforms and that all features are easily assessible and quite intuitive, so most students require very little instruction to get started.

Pros

I have been a tutor for Math and several AP subjects for many years, and I have tried several different platforms for my remote lessons. Lessonspace is stable and easy to use, and has just enough features to allow for flexible and interactive lessons without causing friction.

Cons

The build-in library elements seem somewhat random and most of them are of limited use if you work with students at the high school level and beyond. I use a large personal libary of materials, but it would be nice if Lessonspace would have a larger repertoire of elements given that the somewhat unpredictable nature of one-on-one instruction sometimes leaves us scrambling for additional materials in the middle of a session.

### "Great Tool! But a bit rough around the edges."

December 23, 2025

4.0

Overall my experience with Lessonspace is a very positive one! It is a great tool to help the learners and the tutors deliver sessions seamlessly, there are just a few technical smidges I would like to see addressed.

Pros

Lessonspace is a very useful tool to deliver lessons, as I have used it now for just over 2 years and have found that it has a lot of very useful tools: Not least its whiteboard function which lets me upload worksheets so that I can work on them with my students in real time

Cons

Sometimes, I have some issues with lessonspace when it comes to logging in, where if I have signed into the main portal and go into my sessions, it won't load the part where I can see my video. If I wait a few hours it usually solves itself but that will mean I miss my session and have to make other arrangements.

### "Easy to Learn and Use"

April 21, 2025

4.0

My overall experience with Lessonspace has been great and easy to use. The students I work with on the program are able to pick up using it very quickly.

Pros

This is very useful for working 1:1 or up to 3 students at a time. I am able to organize documents and my students are able to easily work with the system.

Cons

This program is difficult to use with more than a few students because of how moving them over to the side view as a group changes the viewing of the document. It is convenient to be able to see what the students can see with the outline but when there are more than a few it gets difficult to read. Paying per second rather than a flat fee also makes it difficult for me to purchase my own plan to use outside of what the company has set up for me to use with the students hired through them. I have more students outside of tutorax who would benefit from this program but the pay structure makes it difficult.

A dream. Every interaction has been wonderful, informative, and productive! I look as good as, nay, better than my competition--even the big corporations.

Pros

My classrooms in the sky just keep getting better and better. It's a neat experience for a tutor to have students say, "cool, look what I can do," while in our space. Responsive support and development teams beyond the pale. I love my BlakeSpaces!

Cons

Inability to snap notes taken on shared web pages before clearing. Currently, I screen shot the portion and then paste into our space. Not Elegant, but one does what the students need.

### "Great online tutoring platform"

May 11, 2025

5.0

I have used lessonspace through a company that I subcontract for. I liked it so much during the 6 months that I have used it, that I decided to create my own account. As of now, I do not regret this decision.

Pros

I like the fact that I am able to see my students as we are tutoring and they can see me when working (unlike other platforms). I also like that my students can write on a document and it remains where it is supposed to be (also unlike other platforms). I will continue to use this platform for all of my online tutoring needs.

Cons

As of now, I have not found anything that I do not like. So far, it has been easy to navigate and to use for both my students as well as myself.

Zoom had many issues. I had a hard time sharing documents. My video would be lost when I did share a video. This led to my student getting distracted because they were unable to see me (I could see them, but they didn't know this.

### "Tutor who loves lesson space for remote session!"

January 30, 2026

5.0

Super positive! This is a great platform for remote tutoring and would happily recommend it to any educator who does remote tutoring. Far superior to simply sharing your screen and having someone watch you work, and then having them share their screen afterwards.

Pros

I love the concept of the interactive whiteboard, and I feel that lesson space is very user friendly. Being able to take screenshots and drag them into the board, resize images and work collaboratively is amazing.

Cons

I haven't found anything about lesson space that I didn't like. The hardest part is taking the time to figure out what the buttons do but that is also part of the fun of it.

### "Excellent comme plateforme "

December 15, 2025

5.0

### "Decent enough (lacks intuitive features and low quality video/sound)"

April 29, 2025

3.0

Overall, I was reluctant to switch from Zoom because it seems unnecessary and much less user-friendly; however, it's decent enough. I still prefer Zoom/g-meets because they are more intuitive and have more features.

Pros

The fact that I can upload massive PDFs and make notations (vs. Zoom, in which the notations remain in place—almost like an annoying screen—despite scrolling down on the share-screen doc).

Cons

The wonky text box tool that doesn't automatically "enter" but instead trails off-screen. Sound and video quality could be far better, as could the share-screen feature (major lag time). I wish I could pop out multiple screens at once, like the student's video and their shared screen.

I was forced to make the switch by my tutoring agency.

### "Great Space!"

July 8, 2025

5.0

Pros

I really enjoyed using Lessonspace because of how interactive and engaging it is. The platform makes it easy to stay connected and involved during sessions, whether through the shared whiteboard, real-time annotations, or collaborative features like screen sharing and file uploads. It creates an environment that feels more like a hands-on classroom rather than just a video call. Everything being in one place made the learning experience smoother and more focused. I felt like I could genuinely connect with others and actively participate, which made the sessions more productive and enjoyable.

Cons

I think the one thing I liked least about Lessonspace was that it could occasionally be a bit glitchy or slow, especially with audio or screen sharing depending on the internet connection. While the tools are really helpful, there were times when syncing issues or small delays disrupted the flow of a session. It wasn’t constant, but when it happened, it made it harder to stay in the moment.
