I am happy she noticed this. Pros Navigation is easy. My student is autistic and processes things a bit slower than others. She caught on easy to Lesson Space. Cons It freezes when doing screen share. While screen sharing, the program froze my student and she could not see or hear me. Pros I like the fact that you integrate a well built virtual classroom together with the functionalities of something like zoom - I can use video and audio while having a whiteboard. This is something others like Bramble.io cannot achieve. Cons I think the main thing that I dislike about lessonspace is the lack of notification if someone enters the classroom - this could be done via a desktop notification for ease of use. Also, allowing students to access only some tools like pen, rubber etc without using the select tool. I'm not aware of any other software on the market that allows what LessonSpace does so I think it fills a nice niche. Pros Being able to upload files and draw on them Co-browser is neat Different tabs to keep things organized Cons \*\*\*I can't copy my own drawings, so if I draw a template, I have to redraw it for every single problem that involves it.\*\*\*\* Text box doesn't start with the cursor in it, very unintuitive to type The tool bar is far too busy. Consider consolidating and making tabs. Speaking of tabs, switching between tabs is also a hassle. They each take up too much space so I can't see more than 3 tab titles at a time. \*\*\*\*Trying to erase my drawings on top of a file that I've uploaded more often than not just erases the entire file behind it instead of the drawing. There should be a way to lock the file that was uploaded so that all edits are made exclusively to the drawn/typed notes.\*\*\*\* Unsure how feasible this would be, but having a ChemDraw-like ability to shortcut draw molecules would be so so effective and a real game changer for chemistry. Pros The fact that the link remains the same once it is created so it saves a lot of time and admin + makes it easier for my students. Equally, the link can be used anytime and can be accessed by myself, the tutor as well as the students so they can refer back to anything from our lesson. It’s great that the lesson notes are downloadable - a game changer for me and again saves me a lot of time. The lesson space itself is very interactive with the ability of screen share, whiteboard and great tools for a Maths tutor! You can upload multiple worksheets onto multiple tabs or keep building on a current tab. More importantly, the ability to change background colours or have grids can be really helpful for students who are visual learners. It’s also great at showing with party has any connection issues and how to solve them. Cons Nothing in particular at the moment though a bigger range of colours could be helpful for the pen and highlighter tool. Equally more maths shapes. A protractor and a ruler could be great too (though I know they use to have this and it seems it was removed.) Otherwise the current shapes and line/graph tools are really great. It seems to run a lot more smoothly in regards to connection issues as well as integrating alot of great features that helps the cooperative learning goals of Arc. Pros I like the simplistic and easy to use design that makes it easy to navigate around the space but only still contains all the necessary elements for a valuable cooperative learning tool. I also appreciate that there is not very many instances of connection issues either for myself or the student. The class spaces are organised clearly and accessibly. Cons If there are many whiteboard tabs open at once it can be hard to navigate to the final few tabs due to the limitations on space. This often occurs after a longer session where a few tabs were needed and when logging back in the same tabs remain open. Review Source PS Paula S. It's a great idea, but it doesn't function on-the-go as well as it needs to for me, regardless of wifi or cellular data. Pros It's a great concept and has a lot of great tools. It's nice that you can upload documents and share screens. Cons It's not well mobile-optimized and is very hard to see when someone is sharing their screen. It doesn't seem like it has the ability to share screen from the phone either. Sometimes it mutes me or crashes or lags when I try to switch to another tab, and it drains the battery a lot and tries to make the phone quite hot, even for an iPhone. Review Source EB Erica B. " December 16, 2025 5.0 Lessonspace enables me to tutor privatley, on a consistent and reliable platform. It is nice to be able to plan lessons and save slides as zip file to then use later. Pros I am a tutor with MyTutor, as well tutoring privately. It is convenient that mytutor uses lessonspace as well. The camera features, leading mode, and general whitboard tools are really good for my style of tutoring. Cons The graphing tool is not good enough to use in lessons. The sizing isn't consistent and goes will go weird (sometimes really long of tall) and I have to scroll or zoom out really far to find the new graph. It is convenient, effective, easy to use, and easy to share with tutoring students. Pros It is fantastic that this single platform provides video conferencing and live joint-editing abilities alongside a stable repository of whiteboard and document materials to refer back to after video conferencing sessions end. Cons Sometimes the Lessonspace platform can be a bit laggy (although that may be my computer, not Lessonspace). It is also a bit inconvenient how the whiteboard and document tabs are separate interfaces. For example, I would love to be able to annotate a document tab with the whiteboard tools and it is inconvenient that documents uploaded as a whiteboard tab become uneditable. It seems to me that these two interfaces could be integrated into a single tab type that provides the best of both worlds. Review Source JT James T. July 8, 2025 5.0 Initially I had a difficult time setting up my classroom, however the virtual assistant was able to walk me through it with ease. I am now able to edit , and browse through my page with ease. Pros Students do not need to set up passwords or names. The link automatically allows them access to our classroom. I also like that the sessions are automatically recorded as soon as my I open my virtual classroom. In addition, It's phenomenal that students I have the option to save whiteboards for up to one year. I love that it has subject specific tools and that the collaboration is in real time. Cons The platform tends to lag or drop audio/video on slower internet connections. Adding a low bandwidth mode with reduced features could make it more accessible. Review Source VM Vason M. February 24, 2025 5.0 At Eardley Education, we switched from Zoom to using Lessonspace in June of 2024. We have been extremely happy with how easy it is to use for our parents, students, and instructors. The platform makes virtual instruction so engaging for students and allows our instructors to spend less time 'hunting' for materials and more time working directly with students. Pros The platform is very interactive for all students. I love how easy it is to upload materials, PDFs, and documents to the spaces. Our students love the different whiteboard colors, interactive drawing tools, stickers, and confetti! Cons My recommendation for making Lessonspace a bit easier to utilize for my instructors would be to make it possible to directly put hyperlinks into documents. But this is the first time for me that I am using it (for my own org, but have for other orgs). Pros User friendliness. The virtual learning space has a good interface, tools, affective teaching and the price is very fair. Cons The fact that attempting to add an admin (to view play backs) gives "available for students and teachers only". The admin, also a teacher, is then added as one of the teachers, but then you get an error message "already member of organization". You cannot have an admin who is also a teacher? Allowing students to share the functions is brilliant in a lesson. It is value for money and the user interface is helpful for teaching online. I haven't used all the functionality yet, though. Cons It would be useful to split my spaces into folders by subject and/or student; I find that I can get confused about which spaces I'm working with on a given day. It is super intuitive and easy to use, I felt comfortable using it in less than 15 minutes of exploring its features. Honestly, I was skeptical when I first switched from Zoom to Lessonspace because I had always used Zoom for tutoring sessions in the past, but Lessonspace is just so much better for tutoring and anything where you want to work collaboratively with other people. Pros I love how easy it is to upload documents to lessonspace, and the fact that all parties can write/annotate them together. This makes it so easy for me to see the work that my students are doing and for me to catch mistakes as they happen. I also love that everything that we work on and write down during the session stays preserved in the space so students can go back and review all our work really easily. Cons That when I, as the leader, scroll through the document, it scrolls for everyone else watching as well. It just becomes a little annoying if I scroll to give us more space while someone else is writing and it messes up their writing. Definitely a step above just being able to share a screen! Pros As an online tutor for the SAT and ACT tests, I find that Lessonspace gives me all the tools I need to be an effective tutor for my students! Cons The only less-than-optimal thing I've found about the platform is in accessing documents I've downloaded. Lessonspace gives the option to download into one tab or to download each page of the document into a separate tab. I don't want to download a long document into numerous tabs, but when I download such a document into one tab, I don't have to option to go directly to a specific page, but must scroll through the document to get to the page I want. A previous online space I used had a pulldown menu where I could select the specific page I wanted and go directly to it. I'd prefer this feature in Lessonspace if possible! I am not great with technology, but this software is easy to use. However, as I said, I am very annoyed with the lack of highlighting colors. Pros I enjoy that there are different features, such as the whiteboard and the document tabs. Cons I wish there were multiple highlighter colors. It can be challenging to emphasize different things because the only way to use colors is on the words. I'm not sure if what I am saying is clear but I wish there were more options than just a yellow highlighter. It is very convenient for tutoring because students have the option of viewing everything that we worked on even when we are not meeting. Pros I love how everything is in one platform- a meeting space, a whiteboard, and a space to upload worksheets. Cons It is often difficult to find files from the library. It is sometimes difficult to format files that students have sent.
