Pros I like the fact that you integrate a well built virtual classroom together with the functionalities of something like zoom - I can use video and audio while having a whiteboard. This is something others like Bramble.io cannot achieve. Cons I think the main thing that I dislike about lessonspace is the lack of notification if someone enters the classroom - this could be done via a desktop notification for ease of use. Also, allowing students to access only some tools like pen, rubber etc without using the select tool. June 18, 2025 5.0 I find it reliable and easy to use. I also love being able to shower my students' work with fireworks! Pros It's user-friendly and intuitive. It is easy to jump back and forth between shared screens and the whiteboard. Cons The triangle tool only draws isosceles triangles, and there is no circle tool. The ellipse tool allows the user to approximate a circle, but it's nice to be able to pinpoint the center and then draw a circle from the center point. February 24, 2025 5.0 At Eardley Education, we switched from Zoom to using Lessonspace in June of 2024. We have been extremely happy with how easy it is to use for our parents, students, and instructors. The platform makes virtual instruction so engaging for students and allows our instructors to spend less time 'hunting' for materials and more time working directly with students. Pros The platform is very interactive for all students. I love how easy it is to upload materials, PDFs, and documents to the spaces. Our students love the different whiteboard colors, interactive drawing tools, stickers, and confetti! Cons My recommendation for making Lessonspace a bit easier to utilize for my instructors would be to make it possible to directly put hyperlinks into documents. The sessions freeze, and playing videos can be a hassle because it lags. Again, I don't experience lag or browser issues in zoom. Pros The teacher workspace has a lot of options to use for different subject teachers. I like the ability to upload a document and work from it. Cons It crashes a lot throughout the session, more so than Zoom. It does not have the full capacity to work well in different browswers. " December 16, 2025 5.0 Lessonspace enables me to tutor privatley, on a consistent and reliable platform. It is nice to be able to plan lessons and save slides as zip file to then use later. Pros I am a tutor with MyTutor, as well tutoring privately. It is convenient that mytutor uses lessonspace as well. The camera features, leading mode, and general whitboard tools are really good for my style of tutoring. Cons The graphing tool is not good enough to use in lessons. The sizing isn't consistent and goes will go weird (sometimes really long of tall) and I have to scroll or zoom out really far to find the new graph. July 8, 2025 5.0 Initially I had a difficult time setting up my classroom, however the virtual assistant was able to walk me through it with ease. I am now able to edit , and browse through my page with ease. Pros Students do not need to set up passwords or names. The link automatically allows them access to our classroom. I also like that the sessions are automatically recorded as soon as my I open my virtual classroom. In addition, It's phenomenal that students I have the option to save whiteboards for up to one year. I love that it has subject specific tools and that the collaboration is in real time. Cons The platform tends to lag or drop audio/video on slower internet connections. Adding a low bandwidth mode with reduced features could make it more accessible. Review Source BB Brittany B. Definitely a step above just being able to share a screen! Pros As an online tutor for the SAT and ACT tests, I find that Lessonspace gives me all the tools I need to be an effective tutor for my students! Cons The only less-than-optimal thing I've found about the platform is in accessing documents I've downloaded. Lessonspace gives the option to download into one tab or to download each page of the document into a separate tab. I don't want to download a long document into numerous tabs, but when I download such a document into one tab, I don't have to option to go directly to a specific page, but must scroll through the document to get to the page I want. A previous online space I used had a pulldown menu where I could select the specific page I wanted and go directly to it. I'd prefer this feature in Lessonspace if possible! It is super intuitive and easy to use, I felt comfortable using it in less than 15 minutes of exploring its features. Honestly, I was skeptical when I first switched from Zoom to Lessonspace because I had always used Zoom for tutoring sessions in the past, but Lessonspace is just so much better for tutoring and anything where you want to work collaboratively with other people. Pros I love how easy it is to upload documents to lessonspace, and the fact that all parties can write/annotate them together. This makes it so easy for me to see the work that my students are doing and for me to catch mistakes as they happen. I also love that everything that we work on and write down during the session stays preserved in the space so students can go back and review all our work really easily. Cons That when I, as the leader, scroll through the document, it scrolls for everyone else watching as well. It just becomes a little annoying if I scroll to give us more space while someone else is writing and it messes up their writing. Pros It's easy to manage and they continue to improve. They started by having each page as a tab but now you can upload a document all in one tab. You can also go back to where you were if you refresh, big bonus! And they have a dice now, yay! I think they take on improvements and they are a work in progress. You can also create objects to manipulate and move e.g. drag and drop in this classroom. The thing I like the best are the rewards. You can do fireworks, stars and petals all over. But the best is the earthquake for when they really do well. Cons There is a share screen function but it needs to also add in the ability of the student to move things on your screen, I think this is the only thing missing. But this is the first time for me that I am using it (for my own org, but have for other orgs). Pros User friendliness. The virtual learning space has a good interface, tools, affective teaching and the price is very fair. Cons The fact that attempting to add an admin (to view play backs) gives "available for students and teachers only". The admin, also a teacher, is then added as one of the teachers, but then you get an error message "already member of organization". You cannot have an admin who is also a teacher? It is sometimes difficult to format files that students have sent. It's the best way to create a shared space between them I've seen. Cons The co browser is a little sluggish on the student side. The student camera turns off when they leave the tab. Our tutors love it and our students find it easy to use. The LessonSpace team are always on hand to help so we have had a very positive experience. Pros LessonSpace is easy to manage as an administrator in terms of setting up tutors and students. As a user, it is intuitive and easy to navigate. Having one dedicated link for tutors and students to use really keeps things simple as well as being able to keep resources in one place. Having recorded sessions to refer back to is also a real advantage. Cons Tutors can use their LessonSpace account for students that are not part of our organisation so having some functionality to prevent that would be useful. I am not great with technology, but this software is easy to use. However, as I said, I am very annoyed with the lack of highlighting colors. Pros I enjoy that there are different features, such as the whiteboard and the document tabs. Cons I wish there were multiple highlighter colors. It can be challenging to emphasize different things because the only way to use colors is on the words. I'm not sure if what I am saying is clear but I wish there were more options than just a yellow highlighter. It has all the tools necessary and is programmed to make it easy for kids and adults to work with. Pros This program is great, especially when working with children. It allows for an engaging lesson and interaction with the student. It is the closest thing to actually being next to the child in person. Cons The only thing that I can think about that I might not like as much is the inability to turn on the student's camera from my end. I understand there can be some concerns about privacy when it comes to this, so permission from the parents should be required, however it would be beneficial especially when the child refuses to turn their camera or microphone back on.
