I am enjoying it so far, but would love a few upgrades like adding hyperlinks, more educational games, and perhaps an editable slide show feature. Pros I like having one place for all my student's materials. I also LOVE the cobrowser feature. Cons It would be nice to be able to add hyperlinks and see tabs without showing them to the student. It has all the tools necessary and is programmed to make it easy for kids and adults to work with. Pros This program is great, especially when working with children. It allows for an engaging lesson and interaction with the student. It is the closest thing to actually being next to the child in person. Cons The only thing that I can think about that I might not like as much is the inability to turn on the student's camera from my end. I understand there can be some concerns about privacy when it comes to this, so permission from the parents should be required, however it would be beneficial especially when the child refuses to turn their camera or microphone back on. May 17, 2025 5.0 Lessonspace is rich with features that are useful for tutoring sessions, but not overloaded or cluttered. I have found it to be an asset to the whole tutoring experience. Pros The video and audio are tremendous and consistent. The ability to post on the whiteboard is intuitive and easy to do. The buttons to engage with various features are easy to see and the menu descriptions are direct and understandable. Cons I can't really conjure up a criticism. I have found it extremely easy to use and interact with. Owner E-Learning Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "LessonSpace is the Preferred Choice for Online Learning" November 13, 2024 5.0 LessonSpace has been amazing. I currently use it for one business and I will soon be launching two new businesses that will use LessonSpace. Pros I have tested and used other Whiteboard Systems, and LessonSpace is by far much better. Each student can have a personalized classroom. Lesson materials are saved. The tabs are fairly easy to navigate for quick content changes. Every Whiteboard can be saved. The Document Tab is very useful. Other whiteboard systems do not have this. PDF/Whiteboard Tabs can be set to allow students a way to log-in and complete documents on their own. (I do not recommended guest logging for group classes, only private for lessons as LessonSpace do not charge you unless there is more than one active connection.) Breakout Rooms can also be used to store unneeded tabs or notes as well as be a private space in group settings. You can upload larger PDF documents and the classroom loads the content smoothly in each session. The Cobrowser app works nicely for sessions where students need to engage in content and it serves as a backup for playing videos when the Shared Video app is not loading. You can easily turn on and off read-only mode. Editing (undo) is easy. If you have ever used a Preply classroom you will love the difference. You can display content on mobile devices. LessonSpace has a great API if you plan on integrating it into your own platform. Cons As I mentioned, the Breakout Rooms can be used for Private Notes. But, they are still visible on mobile. An actual Private Tab would be nice. Unlike many whiteboard systems you can use mobile browsing. But it would be nice to have floating videos available when switching tabs. Currently, you must switch between video or tabs. Likewise, some students do not understand the navigation at first, so a little information for students would be nice (i.e. two fingers to scroll, etc...). Sometimes the Shared Video does not load. This can be frustrating because you are not sure if everyone is following along or looking at a blank screen. A workaround is simply sharing your screen. But keep in mind the benefit of shared videos is that you are not relying on your Internet connection. And the advanced Zoom products are overpriced. It lets you use breakout spaces, as well as let students use the whiteboard, and yourself for demonstration purposes. I absolutely love it. I navigate with ease, so am happy with it. Cons When I upload a file, normally a pdf, and the orientation of the pdf is different from page to page, then I am unable to rotate the image so that the student can easily read the page. I tried to do an online session with another platform and the response time was very slow. With Lessonspace there was no slow lag time. Pros Easy of use. It was very easy to get started. From the students perspective he could easily mark on the whiteboard. He was also able to easily send a screen shot of his work. Cons I had difficulty one day with uploading a pdf. Most of my PDFs uploaded easily but there were two that when they uploaded I could not see them but me students could. Pros LessonSpace is easy to manage as an administrator in terms of setting up tutors and students. As a user, it is intuitive and easy to navigate. Having one dedicated link for tutors and students to use really keeps things simple as well as being able to keep resources in one place. Having recorded sessions to refer back to is also a real advantage. Cons Tutors can use their LessonSpace account for students that are not part of our organisation so having some functionality to prevent that would be useful. I am only just starting out my tutoring career, but lessonspace has provided the tools and the convenience that compliments my way of teaching really well. Students I’ve tutored with on lessonspace seem to understand concepts I’ve taught really well. Pros The sheer number of tools that are available to use. It’s made teaching seem so effortless, almost like you’re teaching in a classroom (or even better given how there are resources available on lesson space that wouldn’t be available in a classroom like drawing lines). I also appreciate the fact that students can also interact with the platform - this is great as other online teaching tools felt pretty one-sided and you just had to hope that the student understood what I was teaching. The option to have different boards and screensharing allows me to host my classes with ease and have interactive sessions with the students Pros I like that it gives you multiple boards to work with and the option to share my screen. The option of adding a coding board as well could be useful for people learning coding or taking computer science classes. Cons I think it needs a better built in option for custom backgrounds for webcams. I had to use external software to customize my background.
