Our instructors have enjoyed using the whiteboard and other tools for having remote learning sessions and found using Lessonspace valuable. As an administrator, I have gotten quality feedback from the instructors using Lessonspace. Pros It is a more educationally sound way to have online learning for remote students and teachers and educators. It is more versatile to use than compared to other video conferencing platforms. Cons It is a bit more challenging to send Lessonspace links to other email addresses while in a Lessonspace meeting compared to other platforms. Review Source TC Teresa C. December 6, 2024 5.0 It is a perfect place to host lessons and tutoring, it is simple for students to contribute to the space and I love that I can have them locked on to exactly what I am doing. Pros I love how simple it is to use and how smooth it is to set up. Well executed product with wonderful function. I also love the troubleshooting prompts when I am having issues connecting to a student Cons Wish I had a wider range of pen thicknesses, maybe more like a spectrum instead of a few options (See Notability Pen options). I also sometimes have issues where an image I upload is way too large for the space and then I have to size down. January 8, 2026 4.0 The introduction and startup process were sooo easy, and our salesperson was fantastic. We have had a great experienc so far. Pros We have found it is easy to add tutors and students, and we appreciate the support for higher-level math equations and chemistry formulas. Also, the price can not be beat! I like that the setup was easy for a new tutor and that all of my classes and students are all in one place. Pros The setup for new students is easy. I do not have to create a new link for each session. I can reuse the same link and work from previous sessions are saved. Cons Nothing to complain. I am unsure if I can join on multiple devices, but that would be a useful feature, especially since it is hard to draw with a trackpad as compared to an iPad. I love the color choices and fun emojis. They can make a lesson easy. The ease in which I can upload material is also very nice. Cons I wish when I added a new whiteboard space it happened on the left and the older stuff was hidden. This would make keeping older material for reference easier as when I opened a space it would be at the most recent and the older would be further down on the list. If I have any issues, which I rarely do. The Lessonspace team are easy to contact, help is always at hand and any issue is sorted quickly. Pros Me as tutor: Lessonspace is easy to use and navigate. The amazing tools available help me to create enjoyable and engaging lessons for my students. My students: Find logging in easy and enjoy using the tools to create amazing work and complete their tasks. I especially like the rewards i.e. stars, fireworks, etc. and my students love them, even though they are secondary age up to young adults. Cons There isn't anything that I don't like about Lessonspace. However, myself and my students would love to see the return of the balloons! December 30, 2024 4.0 I switched to Lessonspace at the beginning of 2024 and it has overall been a very pleasant experience. The learning curve was a bit steep, but I feel that after 3-4 months I was expertly versed in the tools and functionality. I also will sometimes find a new feature that I had never seen before, which is nice to know that there are always ways to better the teaching experience. Pros Lessonspace allows me to collaborate easily and quickly access materials from past lessons. The drawing features are excellent - I'm able to teach math concepts quickly because I'm not stuck drawing a hexagon or estimating what a graph of an equation would look like. My organizational library is easily accessibly and allows me to find the documents and resources I'm looking for. Cons There are some glitches when using Lessonspace on a tablet. My preference is to log in on my iPad (simultaneously while on my computer for video and audio quality) so I can use the pencil to write on the whiteboard. I never give Lessonspace on my iPad permission to access my camera/microphone, but sometimes it will automatically connect in the middle of a lesson and I'll have to exit quickly because the microphone feedback between my computer and tablet is quite loud. There are many different drawing tools and the selection is good. December 14, 2024 5.0 I have loved used Lesson Space over the course of the last year and plan to continue to use it. It is fun, accessible and makes online teaching a comfortable experience. Pros I like that that that Lesson Space is so versatile. You can label the whiteboard slides, change their order and add as many as you need for the lesson. It has similar capabilities to Word or Power Point enabling you to use pens, highlighters, text boxes, etc. but added features such as emojis and a chat space which creates an added layer of communication. But what I like most about the platform is the ease with which you can prepare lessons. It is simple to upload pictures and documents and you can always re-use material or adapt it for a later lesson as the uploads remains stored in the library. All in all, its a truly fabulous way to teach online and I would be very reluctant to change to another platform. Cons There can be an occasional echo on the line, but this is probably more due to the wireless network connection. Review Source BV Babalwa V. My students have been happy because of the tools and the fact that we can interact in real time. The recording are a bonus that comes handy during revision time. The platform is easy to use and has a lot to offer. Pros The whiteboard is the best for someone who is teaching maths. The platform also plots graphs, the library has a calculator and one can search for pictures and documents while the lesson is live. Cons Nothing really. I am hopeful that in the future one can be able to use animations on uploaded slides. Tutor Individual & Family Services Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "Text boxes" April 9, 2025 5.0 Pros It is easy to use and practical. What I like the most is the ability to share a PDF file and work on it together with the students, they are able to write on it and interact with it as well. Cons What I like the least is that the host (for instance, me) is not able to move around the space of the text that the student has written. For example, it is in the wrong place (too low, etc.), I can't move it myself and the student has to do it. Moreover, sometimes I have a "bug" where the text disappears (that I or the student wrote) and there's no way of using the reverse option to get it back, so for it to come back and fix the issue I have to share my screen and unshare it and then it appears. I don't know why it does that but that's the solution I found to make it appear again. I haven't utilized the library much, but I will. Pros Being able to mark up on a share page! Present feature to read books to my Littles. Cons Drawing tool sizes. Rainbow slide color choices maybe? The erase tool needs to have the feature of an eraser head instead of just clicking to erase. I work with 5 and 6 year olds and I end up with a lot of erased boards!
