It’s a simple, efficient tool that makes it easy to organize group cards and celebrate employees in a thoughtful way. While there are a few areas that could be improved—mainly around customization—the overall experience is smooth, reliable, and effective for employee recognition. Pros Ellacard is very easy to use and intuitive, making it simple to set up and share cards in just a few minutes. It offers great value for money, especially for team celebrations and recognition, and helps make employee appreciation feel more personal and engaging compared to traditional cards. Cons Ellacard works well overall, but one of the more frustrating limitations is the lack of flexibility when it comes to customizing visuals. When uploading a PNG, JPG, or GIF, the platform automatically adds a border that makes the image look out of place, which makes it difficult to fully personalize a card. Because of this, it often feels like you have to rely on the designs provided instead of incorporating your own content seamlessly. " March 19, 2026 5.0 It took me a couple of times to maneuver around the card to set it up the way I wanted however it's easy for trial and error. Once I figured it out, it's great! Pros Value for money, ease of use and gift cards. Adding the music to the card is above and beyond!! I appreciate the follow up email from Ella Card to check and double check the status of your card, Cons I don't think there are any cons with your website. You have a huge inventory so if I were to say, I wouldn't mind an even bigger inventory with more humor. (I don't want to sound greedy!) We started using virtual cards during COVID. I bought the 50 card package and they emailed advising me that their new policy that I would lose the remainder cards I didn't use after a year. I had 20 cards and even though that's what I paid for, I would lose them. I emailed them and they extended it a few months. If there's no birthdays, you don't use the cards. Then they raised their price. I would've been cheaper to buy a card. So one my year ended, losing over 20 cards, I started looking for a different company. Review Source AC Anna C. Even if you run late on remembering your person's special day, you can get an Ellacard set up to send right away! This comes in handy for me when a paper card won't make it across the miles in time. I can count on Ellacard to reflect the intentionality of my heart- to make that person feel so loved, seen, and remembered. You can also use it to bring encouragement to someone who is struggling and needs a pick me up or did something amazing that you want to celebrate as a spur of the moment decision. Ellacard is always there. You can also sign and design on your phone which makes it a great tool for being on the go. Pros Ellacard is an amazing tool as a manager who loves to celebrate the people in my life. The ability to have our entire team add their personal flair when celebrating others makes this product my top choice. I get incredibly positive responses to the cards I send, and I've found a multitude of ways to harness the tool to communicate more effectively. One thing I've done is make a fun "e-brochure" to assist with onboarding. While HR sends a wall of text, not everyone responds well to that format, so that's where my step-by-step guide, complete with links, animations, photos, and instructions comes in. I've seen an improvement in onboarding times since implementing the e-card, and I look forward to innovating more ways to improve processes in the future. Pros I appreciate this diverse tool which helps me demonstrate appreciation at a remarkably low cost. The site continually evolves and improves offerings, and the customer service is incredibly fast and responsive. I appreciate the ease of use with the site and the flexibility offered in customizing what works best for my needs at any given time. Recipients express a lot of gratitude, and I've had many people within my organization ask about using the site for their own units. In a time when we're asked to do more with less, Ellacard has been my favorite tool to show gratitude, recognition, compassion, and more. Cons I wish the business option were a bit more affordable. November 4, 2025 5.0 It is great, as mentioned. We use the automation feature on the website and it works very well with upkeep of our roster, employees can be easily added and removed without the need to redo a batch or start all over from scratch. Our team really loves using the GIF's and the differnt fonts and colors you can use. It helps spread so much cheer in the office and allows employees to engage with thier co-workers. We have used it to send outside people a "Thank you" and its also been well recieved. We are happy with the services and will likely continue to use Ellacard for as long as we have the budget for it. Pros I love Ellacard because of the ease of using the software. We use it for our company birthdays and it really helps spread alot of cheer in the office for employees. Cons In the first year that we utilized the system, there was no "automation" feature which made it difficult to upkeep the cards and remove employees who had moved on. Luckily, Ellacard now offers automation which has made things much easier as we dont have to think about redoing a batch each time someone left the company. I've also told a number of my colleagues, and they have also gotten accounts for their teams/areas/departments Pros I really like that Ellacard has group work cards to choose from, and you can invite multiple people to sign a card, put pictures, personalization, etc. I love that you can get feedback from recipients as well. With so many options to choose from, I've used for birthdays, work anniversaries, retirement, employee recognition. It's super easy to use, and honestly a great value for the money. Cons Not sure if it's an Ellacard issue, my computer/internet, but sometimes things are very slow to load. I also would like some additional customizable features within the cards themselves...like better stamp choices. Also, I do notice that some cards in some selections don't quite fit. Pros The reason we use Ellacard is so that all of our remote employees can also sign the card for the intended person. It also alerts our remote employees about what is happening in everyone's work/home lives. Cons So far I've not encountered any cons, and we've been using them for over 2 years. November 20, 2025 5.0 Pros The best part about using Ellacard has been automating the process and being able to customize all the cards and messages. Making it very easy to manage and ensure the gift card gets to the correct person. So far the employees have been loving the digital cards and the choice of merchant for their gift card. The customer support team has a very quick turn around and have been very helpful with set up. Cons The ACH purchase of gift cards is a little different and requires bulk purchase to avoid using the credit card and incurring fees. I hear that self purchase of gift cards via ACH will be self-service in the future so I look forward to seeing how that improves the process and flow. Pros 1) Great value for the money. The pricing scale based on sends/signers is more affordable than paying one flat rate per card. Sometimes my teams send large cards with 50+ signers, and other times they send a card with 5-10 signers....it doesn't make sense to pay the same amount for both interactions. 2) Customizable with lots of features. The fact that each person can take up an entire page or multiple folks can sign a page, add personal pictures/Gifs/designs, and the ability to schedule the platform to send on your behalf. 3) Easy to use interface. 4) One platform for card and gift card (eliminating decision fatigue). 5) A simple way to show employee recognition with a small price. Cons Not really a con but would like the user experience for a paid account holder vs. a one time purchaser to be slightly different.
