It's proven to be a cost-effective way of not only organising our media and making it easier to access - but for our members and agencies to share media with us. Pros It’s great value for money compared to other DAMs out there. It has all the features you regularly need to easily categorise, tag, and share your media with agencies. I’ve also found the customer service to be quick and helpful. The UX is clean and simple, with the useful features you actually need, and you’re not overwhelmed by extra add-ons that only have very niche use cases. Cons There's not a lot to dislike, but if I had to pick one thing, The auto-tagging feature is an area that could be improved. I started using Dash three years ago, and with the recent jump in machine learning and AI, it feels like the perfect opportunity to apply those capabilities so auto tags become more accurate. Better auto-tagging would save a lot of time and also make the search function more effective. I would strongly recommend Dash to any marketing team looking to streamline their asset management processes. Pros It's allowed us to operate our content versioning and distribution more efficiently and effectively than ever! Cons The only major point which is a miss for us is tracking asset downloads for those which use an embed link (one which directly downloads the asset to the user's device instead of going via a landing page within the Dash system). There's currently no ability to track downloads when assets are deployed in this way, and this is the best way for us to deliver assets to our users. It's great for sharing assets with multiple people and when used well, speeds up a lot of processes. I think there could be some better search functions as sometimes it's difficult to find certain assets. I also love the different download options. You can download in specific dimensions that fit for different social platforms. Cons This may be user error, but searching for assets can be difficult. I don't know if that is because we do not have a great naming or tagging system but I think there could be improvement in the organization and search features. Pros The clean UX/UI of Dash makes it easy incredibly easy to navigate and use - both for admins and contributors who may not be as design savvy. Our organisation has been able to seamlessly integrate it into our day-to-day usage. Cons It would be nice if we had the ability to drag and drop files within the app across folders. Although folder structures are not the primary way of organising Dash, we still use some folders for ease of sharing. They allow you to do a free trial which I highly recommend. The user management also allows us to easily approve/review images before they get added to Dash. Pros Dash is so user friendly; it's hard to overstate how great the interface is. I love the auto-tagging feature. There's a lot of features Dash has that I hadn't even thought to look for, such as shareable galleries, and public submission links/pages. I love the way they've structured folders, user access, and so much more. It is by far the most user-friendly photo storage software that I found (and I researched heavily) that suits a large team of folks with varying technical skills. Recommend 10 out of 10!! Product roadmap could be more robust & features should be released with more agility. Pros Its a very cost-effective platform to standardize content across teams, departments and product lines. It is very simple to set-up and for the users to use as well. Learning curve is next to nothing. I also absolutely love their team who are always eager to help. It's no frills tool that can bring a lot of organization to the chaos that sometimes content can be. Cons I wish they had better analytics, something I've already voted for in their product roadmap. July 4, 2022 5.0 Dash has changed how we share and manage assets as a team, prior to signing up we had multiple ways of storing and sharing files (Teams, internal drives, etc) which was time-consuming and led to a lot of outdated assets being used. With Dash I am free of constant asset chasing and management, the team is able to manage this themselves with little input from me. Pros It's simple, and intuitive, we signed up thanks to the free trial and clarity of pricing (unlike competitors). Cons I would like the option to view files eg. Word and PowerPoint online without having to download them. Also our external partners can upload easily. Cons Our initial import - Dash automatically gave all our images tags... which were wrong and not helpful. It's taken us ages to remove them all and replace what we wanted. Maybe there was an onboarding step we missed, or a box that shouldn't have been checked, but that has been the only issue and we've fixed this ourselves. I think their product is superior, like Boolean search is great for librarians, just not the common folk. If you want a DAM that all your people can use without thinking too hard, this is it. My various teams find it easy to use and often find assets they never knew we had, using tags. This is one of the few DAM systems where you can get a price, signup for a trial and then simply get on with it! Many other companies wouldn't publish pricing, required us to talk to sales first or jump into a custom hosted solution. Dash made it so easy and the pricing was also competitive. I was a little wary, but features are all there and we are happy with the solution and ease of use. Cons Searching can be a little odd at times. I would like some improvements and perhaps better AI tagging (some of the auto-generated keywords are a bit odd). I think my team is actually getting along even better since no one has to stop to find something or ask a team member to find it for them. Great search function and overall a team that are quick to respond to any issues or questions we have raised. Pros The search function that pulls text within images, but also will use the folder structure to pull results. The price is also a great part of the platform, which allows you to purchase more space and flexible in terms of the size that you can extend too. The onboarding from the team was also the biggest help, we migrated from another platform and with 700GB files to import it took some time. But the team were more than happy to help.The future roadmap and suggestions board, also contains plenty of exciting features that they are looking to include in the coming months. Cons The only feature that is light, is the amount of flexibility or custom pages available when creating a collection of your assets. Selections also don't save when navigating to other pages, so If you forget to act upon the assets you have selected, you can lose the assets you have picked. The upload of assets could be improved, currently via a browser or via ftp, feels a little clunky at times especially if uploading a large number of assets. Being able to quickly find, organize, export and manage your assets saves time and frustration compared to other more traditional file storing systems. Cons There's not too much to dislike if I am honest, it's a great product, you have to be on top of tagging, and permissions, but once you have those correct, it's hard for it to descend into chaos unlike some of DASH's competitors. When I started doing research to get Dash I wasn't sure between Dash and another company. I'm very happy now that I made that decision. Pros The face recognition of this software has helped us greatly with our workflow. It is user friendly and every new staff gets on board quickly. The support is amazing and sometimes you think they are a team member from your company trying to improve the functionality and finding ways to sort out your specific problems. Cons For some smaller companies the cost might not be justified. But still it depends on how much working with it makes your life easier. August 21, 2023 5.0 Pros We've loved pretty much everything about Dash so far! It is extremely user friendly, and had every thing we absolutely needed in a DAM, as well as a few features that were unique to it (the cropping stands out as much much better than every other DAM we looked at, including some of the major players). The customer service has also been phenomenal! Lastly, it is extremely well priced and it's also low commitment – made it a complete no brainer for us to switch on to it :) Cons So far, no complaints! There are a couple of small features we'd like to see but I'm not sure how often we'd even use them (example: watermarking).
