It's a very easy-to-use product, with brilliant features - all of which have helped us operate our content versioning and distribution more efficiently and effectively than ever. The Dash team are extremely helpful, and have gone above and beyond to ensure we have a great experience with their product. I would strongly recommend Dash to any marketing team looking to streamline their asset management processes. Pros It's allowed us to operate our content versioning and distribution more efficiently and effectively than ever! Cons The only major point which is a miss for us is tracking asset downloads for those which use an embed link (one which directly downloads the asset to the user's device instead of going via a landing page within the Dash system). There's currently no ability to track downloads when assets are deployed in this way, and this is the best way for us to deliver assets to our users. It’s easy to adopt, secure enough for professional use, and it delivers strong value for the price. It's great for sharing assets with multiple people and when used well, speeds up a lot of processes. I think there could be some better search functions as sometimes it's difficult to find certain assets. I also love the different download options. You can download in specific dimensions that fit for different social platforms. Cons This may be user error, but searching for assets can be difficult. I don't know if that is because we do not have a great naming or tagging system but I think there could be improvement in the organization and search features. The creative team is much more organised and external teams can access desired assets and files rapidly. Pros The clean UX/UI of Dash makes it easy incredibly easy to navigate and use - both for admins and contributors who may not be as design savvy. Our organisation has been able to seamlessly integrate it into our day-to-day usage. Cons It would be nice if we had the ability to drag and drop files within the app across folders. Although folder structures are not the primary way of organising Dash, we still use some folders for ease of sharing. They allow you to do a free trial which I highly recommend. The user management also allows us to easily approve/review images before they get added to Dash. Pros Dash is so user friendly; it's hard to overstate how great the interface is. I love the auto-tagging feature. There's a lot of features Dash has that I hadn't even thought to look for, such as shareable galleries, and public submission links/pages. I love the way they've structured folders, user access, and so much more. It is by far the most user-friendly photo storage software that I found (and I researched heavily) that suits a large team of folks with varying technical skills. Recommend 10 out of 10!! Cons I wish you can configure the shared link expiration to have it at the default of your choosing (i.e. never instead of the set '7 days'). July 4, 2022 5.0 Dash has changed how we share and manage assets as a team, prior to signing up we had multiple ways of storing and sharing files (Teams, internal drives, etc) which was time-consuming and led to a lot of outdated assets being used. With Dash I am free of constant asset chasing and management, the team is able to manage this themselves with little input from me. Pros It's simple, and intuitive, we signed up thanks to the free trial and clarity of pricing (unlike competitors). Cons I would like the option to view files eg. Also our external partners can upload easily. Cons Our initial import - Dash automatically gave all our images tags... which were wrong and not helpful. It's taken us ages to remove them all and replace what we wanted. Maybe there was an onboarding step we missed, or a box that shouldn't have been checked, but that has been the only issue and we've fixed this ourselves. Uploading assets, tagging them and adding them to an existing or new folder is very simple. Being able to search based on tags is huge. Cons The auto-tag features are not good. It takes more time, but it's often just better overall to do your own tagging and placing assets in folders. We are aware that the accuracy of the auto tagging can be variable, depending on the type of images you are uploading. It works much better on generic photos - because of how these machine learning services are trained. Have you tried configuring the accuracy within the admin area of Dash, for example to favour fewer tags but higher accuracy? The good news is that the image recognition cloud services we use for the auto tagging are getting better all the time, and they are now coming out with APIs that will enable us to train them on client-specific data sets. So in the not-to-distant future we hope to offer the ability for the auto tagging to learn from your own tags. Have you tried the facial recognition? The ability to categorize the assets and share them throughout the enterprise, and also with our external vendors and partners, has made it a lot easier to collaborate Pros It's very easy to categorize products into many types, including custom types. Other products we tried limited how we could categorize or tag assets, but Dash has no such restriction. Cons The search box filter remains populated when you use the folder view, so it's easy to think folders are empty. When I started doing research to get Dash I wasn't sure between Dash and another company. I'm very happy now that I made that decision. Pros The face recognition of this software has helped us greatly with our workflow. It is user friendly and every new staff gets on board quickly. The support is amazing and sometimes you think they are a team member from your company trying to improve the functionality and finding ways to sort out your specific problems. It is extremely user friendly, and had every thing we absolutely needed in a DAM, as well as a few features that were unique to it (the cropping stands out as much much better than every other DAM we looked at, including some of the major players). The customer service has also been phenomenal! Lastly, it is extremely well priced and it's also low commitment – made it a complete no brainer for us to switch on to it :) Cons So far, no complaints! There are a couple of small features we'd like to see but I'm not sure how often we'd even use them (example: watermarking).
