It's proven to be a cost-effective way of not only organising our media and making it easier to access - but for our members and agencies to share media with us. Pros It’s great value for money compared to other DAMs out there. It has all the features you regularly need to easily categorise, tag, and share your media with agencies. I’ve also found the customer service to be quick and helpful. The UX is clean and simple, with the useful features you actually need, and you’re not overwhelmed by extra add-ons that only have very niche use cases. Cons There's not a lot to dislike, but if I had to pick one thing, The auto-tagging feature is an area that could be improved. I started using Dash three years ago, and with the recent jump in machine learning and AI, it feels like the perfect opportunity to apply those capabilities so auto tags become more accurate. Better auto-tagging would save a lot of time and also make the search function more effective. It's a very easy-to-use product, with brilliant features - all of which have helped us operate our content versioning and distribution more efficiently and effectively than ever. The Dash team are extremely helpful, and have gone above and beyond to ensure we have a great experience with their product. I would strongly recommend Dash to any marketing team looking to streamline their asset management processes. Pros It's allowed us to operate our content versioning and distribution more efficiently and effectively than ever! Cons The only major point which is a miss for us is tracking asset downloads for those which use an embed link (one which directly downloads the asset to the user's device instead of going via a landing page within the Dash system). There's currently no ability to track downloads when assets are deployed in this way, and this is the best way for us to deliver assets to our users. It's great for sharing assets with multiple people and when used well, speeds up a lot of processes. I think there could be some better search functions as sometimes it's difficult to find certain assets. I also love the different download options. You can download in specific dimensions that fit for different social platforms. Cons This may be user error, but searching for assets can be difficult. I don't know if that is because we do not have a great naming or tagging system but I think there could be improvement in the organization and search features. Our organisation has been able to seamlessly integrate it into our day-to-day usage. Cons It would be nice if we had the ability to drag and drop files within the app across folders. They allow you to do a free trial which I highly recommend. The user management also allows us to easily approve/review images before they get added to Dash. Pros Dash is so user friendly; it's hard to overstate how great the interface is. I love the auto-tagging feature. There's a lot of features Dash has that I hadn't even thought to look for, such as shareable galleries, and public submission links/pages. I love the way they've structured folders, user access, and so much more. It is by far the most user-friendly photo storage software that I found (and I researched heavily) that suits a large team of folks with varying technical skills. Recommend 10 out of 10!! We use Dash daily, and love how fast it is to upload, share and manage our files. Senior Graphic Designer Food Production Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Solid platform with excellent customer service" May 27, 2021 5.0 I'd highly recommend talking to the Dash team before making your decision, they allowed us to have a trial account before committing which was really useful. They also took the time to understand what we wanted out of the DAM system rather than applying the hard sell. Overall it has been a great partnership so far, it's easy to use and set up but you also have a friendly support team behind you should you need any assistance. Pros It's ease of use is one of the things I like most about Dash. Both the front and back end are intuitive and easy to navigate which makes sharing and managing assets with others inside and outside of the business a doddle. Cons As with all DAM systems, there are limitations or certain features only available at extra costs but I feel Dash really has this under control. You can have a soild system without it costing the earth and the customer service has been top notch and very accomodating to our needs so far. From the demo, the support to the free trial time….this is one of the best solutions I have added this year. Pros We are able to SEE all of our assets with ease! We can sort, filter, and find items that we would have missed without DASH. This repository has increased my team’s productivity AND reduced our frustration. I think my team is actually getting along even better since no one has to stop to find something or ask a team member to find it for them. Great search function and overall a team that are quick to respond to any issues or questions we have raised. Pros The search function that pulls text within images, but also will use the folder structure to pull results. The price is also a great part of the platform, which allows you to purchase more space and flexible in terms of the size that you can extend too. The onboarding from the team was also the biggest help, we migrated from another platform and with 700GB files to import it took some time. But the team were more than happy to help.The future roadmap and suggestions board, also contains plenty of exciting features that they are looking to include in the coming months. Cons The only feature that is light, is the amount of flexibility or custom pages available when creating a collection of your assets. Selections also don't save when navigating to other pages, so If you forget to act upon the assets you have selected, you can lose the assets you have picked. The upload of assets could be improved, currently via a browser or via ftp, feels a little clunky at times especially if uploading a large number of assets. The system itself is fairly easy to use and allows us to customize options for fields and tagging to ensure our assets are where we need them to be. We are still in the early stages of using Dash and uploading our assets but once fully functioning, I think it will be a brilliant tool and make finding and managing assets so much easier. Cons We have had an issue with giving a 3rd party access to Dash to upload assets. Unfortunately they found the process too complicated but I'm hoping we can iron out those issues and make the process simpler going forward. We looked at several other products and consulted with our developer on a custom built platform. Our developer - who works as a contractor - urged us to select the DASH product. Dash offered many more functions than he could build Pros DASH has been very easy to deploy. We contracted for additional onboard, due to the fact we have staff all around the globe. Permissions system is robust and intuitive. Tagging and other search functions are very useful. For myself the asset based reporting tools helps with grant compliance. Cons From a management perspective, with globally contracted staff, our DASH assets are poorly and inconsistently tagged. I would appreciate reporting and filtering tools to identify assets that do not have tags, titles, or other attributes.
