SVP Operations Retail Used the software for: Less than 6 months ### "An easy to use Asset Management platform with some great features" October 28, 2022 5.0 It's a great, really easy to use and navigate around, download and create collections within the site. Great search function and overall a team that are quick to respond to any issues or questions we have raised. Pros The search function that pulls text within images, but also will use the folder structure to pull results. The price is also a great part of the platform, which allows you to purchase more space and flexible in terms of the size that you can extend too. The onboarding from the team was also the biggest help, we migrated from another platform and with 700GB files to import it took some time. But the team were more than happy to help.The future roadmap and suggestions board, also contains plenty of exciting features that they are looking to include in the coming months. Cons The only feature that is light, is the amount of flexibility or custom pages available when creating a collection of your assets. Selections also don't save when navigating to other pages, so If you forget to act upon the assets you have selected, you can lose the assets you have picked. The upload of assets could be improved, currently via a browser or via ftp, feels a little clunky at times especially if uploading a large number of assets. Uploading assets, tagging them and adding them to an existing or new folder is very simple. Being able to search based on tags is huge. Cons The auto-tag features are not good. It takes more time, but it's often just better overall to do your own tagging and placing assets in folders. We are aware that the accuracy of the auto tagging can be variable, depending on the type of images you are uploading. It works much better on generic photos - because of how these machine learning services are trained. Have you tried configuring the accuracy within the admin area of Dash, for example to favour fewer tags but higher accuracy? The good news is that the image recognition cloud services we use for the auto tagging are getting better all the time, and they are now coming out with APIs that will enable us to train them on client-specific data sets. So in the not-to-distant future we hope to offer the ability for the auto tagging to learn from your own tags. Have you tried the facial recognition? Pros What we like about Dash is the immense amount of features, which includes every feature they have, at every price point. The features they offer are easy to understand and easy to get people up to speed on. Some of the features (i.e. the portals) give you the ability to explore some very interesting use cases. Customer support has also been great. Getting all of our content into Dash was also a breeze. Cons The auto-tagging is not great, and the overall search features they have to offer leave something to be desired. Making things easy to find for people who do not use Dash as often requires a little bit of leg work. I love that you pay for what you use and that it can scale as your needs and content library grow. Support and onboarding have been incredible. Their people are excellent and responsive. Customer service is always top notch and Dash itself is a pleasure to use every day! Pros Easy to set up, joy of use and functionality! Cons It is a bit of pain to set up folder-preview-images and for user guidance it could be better some times to show subfolders, for example in a portal. Reason for choosing Dash The feature controlled tags was not supported by any other service, but helps us a lot to organize our product assets. The general UI/UX was way better than all the others. The ability to categorize the assets and share them throughout the enterprise, and also with our external vendors and partners, has made it a lot easier to collaborate Pros It's very easy to categorize products into many types, including custom types. Other products we tried limited how we could categorize or tag assets, but Dash has no such restriction. Cons The search box filter remains populated when you use the folder view, so it's easy to think folders are empty. Being able to quickly find, organize, export and manage your assets saves time and frustration compared to other more traditional file storing systems. The search function is a massive help, allowing you to quickly find and compare assets from your entire library with ease. THe added functionality of exporting in pre-built dimensions for social media etc is a handy tool Cons There isn't anything majorly that stood out for me that I disliked about this software. The platform has made it incredibly effortless to upload and update assets, ensuring that everyone on the team has access to the latest creative files. We are still rolling out the system to all teams, but the feedback we've had already has been fantastic, we should reached out to DASH sooner. Cons There's not too much to dislike if I am honest, it's a great product, you have to be on top of tagging, and permissions, but once you have those correct, it's hard for it to descend into chaos unlike some of DASH's competitors. When you've got a team \*that\* responsive, it makes the choice much easier. :) Pros Dash provides pretty much everything we need, without being burdensome to use. Creating collections that can be shared is very valuable. Cons We're not using (or paying for) some of the more sophisticated features, such as AI-driven tagging, which isn't useful for us. July 4, 2022 5.0 Dash has changed how we share and manage assets as a team, prior to signing up we had multiple ways of storing and sharing files (Teams, internal drives, etc) which was time-consuming and led to a lot of outdated assets being used. With Dash I am free of constant asset chasing and management, the team is able to manage this themselves with little input from me. Pros It's simple, and intuitive, we signed up thanks to the free trial and clarity of pricing (unlike competitors). Cons I would like the option to view files eg. Word and PowerPoint online without having to download them. The facial recognition feature was very popular among my colleagues, who would use it to find similar images of models to use in our eLearning products. Cons For me, nothing Dash worked as I needed it to, and if there were ever any issues, the support team was on hand to resolve them quickly. When I started doing research to get Dash I wasn't sure between Dash and another company. I'm very happy now that I made that decision. Pros The face recognition of this software has helped us greatly with our workflow. It is user friendly and every new staff gets on board quickly. The support is amazing and sometimes you think they are a team member from your company trying to improve the functionality and finding ways to sort out your specific problems. Cons For some smaller companies the cost might not be justified. But still it depends on how much working with it makes your life easier. Also our external partners can upload easily. Cons Our initial import - Dash automatically gave all our images tags... which were wrong and not helpful. It's taken us ages to remove them all and replace what we wanted. Maybe there was an onboarding step we missed, or a box that shouldn't have been checked, but that has been the only issue and we've fixed this ourselves. I think their product is superior, like Boolean search is great for librarians, just not the common folk. If you want a DAM that all your people can use without thinking too hard, this is it. The use of custom fields, especially, has given us significantly more flexibility in how we categorize our assets while being much more user-friendly to use and maintain. I've also been very impressed with the responsiveness and helpfulness of their support team. Looking at the functionality it provides, especially considering the cost relative to comparable platforms, selecting Dash was an easy decision.
