### "Great for beginners and professionals"

April 30, 2026

Overall, great experience. Easy to add tracks, other instruments, color code, and add markers. Minimal lag time.

Pros

Great software for beginners through professionals. Easy to learn the fundamental basics to create great music.

Cons

It can be overwhelming at first, but they offer options to set up the workspace for beginners so you can create something tangible.

### "Vive le MIDI avec Logic Pro "

September 24, 2025

5.0

### "LOGIC PRO--Perfect In the Apple World"

December 26, 2024

5.0

Superb. But being a Windows person who is files and formats for Windows anything I wanted to do to integrate with older files was a huge task to transition them into LOGIC>

Pros

Logic Pro is immense. Logic Pro is top notch and robust. If it doesn't have want you as a stand alone you can include all your VST effects and instruments and away you go.

Cons

APPLE ONLY. This is the reason for the 5 on the likely to recommend. You are completely locked into APPLE with this program. There is NO Windows version. Granted the general media world exists in the Apple realm there is no cross over compatibility with WINDOWS.

### "Amazing for at home production"

December 18, 2024

I absolutely fell in love with it, it pushes users to grow at how they can use logic not only as a tool for recording but an instrument in and of itself

Pros

Logic makes recording so painless and easy for any stage of music mixing, it's also incredibly organized and has a lot of high quality when transferring tracks.

Cons

The bus system is a little overly complex at times, with it being far to easy to create unnecessary bus tracks

Fantastic, has enabled me to make professional music and really hone my production skills.

Pros

endless range of instruments, sounds, vocals ect. Good directions of how to use as a beginner and the software makes it easy to edit and take your time to create great pieces.

Cons

The pricing. As a beginner it is quite pricey to get set up. however it is a one time payment at first and is worth it.

### "Its ease of use makes it the best DAW"

October 30, 2023

5.0

I'm the kind of producer who gets an idea, tries to get it down as soon as possible before it blurs away. Logic helps me keeping ideas on track and do it swiftly.Using multiple au/VST plugins can get messy real quick in other DAWs, but Logic keeps it clean which makes a clearer path for your idea to sound like it does in your head. I always get surprised by the quality of the included sounds and effects, just browsing the library and listening to the different virtual instruments can bring your original idea in new territories you wouldn't expect. There are not many products who can withstand Pro Tools, but Logic is definitely the best alternative to this even-more restrictive environment.

Pros

Open Logic with no inspiration, and get a track done in hours. It is so feature-packed you can work with its onboard set of tools and create something excellent. The GUI feels professional and user-friendly at the same time, shows that time was taken to make sense of things, instead of just cramming floating window after floating window like most other DAWs.

Cons

There is not much not to like with Logic, except it's only available on MacOS!

Alternatives considered

[Pro Tools](https://www.capterra.com/p/214607/Pro-Tools/)[Live](https://www.capterra.com/p/186429/Live/)[REAPER](https://www.capterra.com/p/214602/Reaper/)

Reason for choosing Logic Pro

Over all the alternatives, Logic seemed like the best bang for the buck, and it ended up being way more than just that. Many other DAWs are good at tracking, but its the included sounds and effects that made the difference for me. That and the fact that MacOS is way more stable and reliable than Windows when working with 50+ tracks, many with virtual instruments.

Switched from

[Cubase](https://www.capterra.com/p/214601/Cubase/)

Cubase served me well, but I got tired of its aging interface and lack of novelties from update to update. Also, it was always tricky to get a stable working slate with it. Too much often did I lose hours of inspiration over the dreaded Blue Screen of Death, I was ready for something more professional, and Logic was the evident choice.

### "Professional Music Recording Software Now Easier To Use"

October 15, 2022

5.0

Alongside the range change, Apple have additionally presented ostensibly the main UI upgrade that the program has yet seen. Logic's beforehand inadequate menu structure has been fully explored to give simpler admittance to the program's many orders, and that is presumably something to be thankful for. The Track menu from the old Orchestrate window has been elevated to the primary menu bar, and is joined by different menus, for example, Explore, Record, Blend and View. I was genuinely very much familiar with Logic's previous menu structures, yet this is most certainly an improvement.

Pros

Logic Pro X presently has a legitimate auto-save execution that works behind the scenes, so you don't need to stress over losing data assuming that something terrible occurs and you've forgetten to save. I just had one accident in the wake of refreshing to 10.0.1 (10.0 had a couple of dependability issues), and Logic provoked me promptly after restarting to inquire as to whether I needed to utilize the auto-save variant or my last saved rendition. Luckily, auto-save appeared to have kicked in just before the accident, and nothing was lost. This is clearly a major improvement upon Logic Pro 9.

Cons

Prior to going any further, I ought to take note of that when you open Logic Pro X interestingly, you probably won't see every one of the orders you're anticipating in the program. In what could be viewed as a somewhat questionable move to cause the program to appear to be less overpowering to newbies, Apple have added a High level Devices mode that should be empowered to show highlights like the Occasion, Marker, Rhythm and Mark Records, or MIDI Draw and step input recording. There are likewise extra 'high level' choices for sound, encompass, MIDI, control surfaces, score and high level altering usefulness. So the main thing you ought to do subsequent to stacking Logic Pro X is to open the High level Inclinations board and ensure these choices are empowered.

### "Amazing Music Production Software with the Magic of Apple"

April 24, 2021

5.0

Overall, my experience with Logic Pro is extremely positive. I highly recommend this software to anyone who is a composer or music producer looking for an intuitive yet incredibly customizable solution. While Logic Pro has a slightly higher learning curve for beginners, anyone in the music industry will appreciate the advanced features and infinite customization options Logic Pro provides. From the sampler that can be used to create custom instrument sample libraries, to the included sounds that can easily be mixed and modified to fit any production, Logic Pro is by far the most advanced and intuitive music production software I have tried.

Pros

Logic Pro is by far, the best music production software I have used. The ease of use and intuitive interface make it a clear extension of the Apple line up. The clean, modern and futuristic design set it apart from the competitors which can sometimes resemble being stuck in the 1950's. I love how everything is customizable, including colors and labels. Third party plugins such as NI Kontakt integrate easily, and the included sound libraries in Logic Pro allow for infinite creativity right from the start. I love the new sampler and the new loop feature included with the latest update. The logic remote is perhaps one of the features with the most potential, since it allows users to use their iPad as a mixer or additional controller. This removes the need for additional hardware, which is a huge plus for touring musicians who want to keep their bag light. (Now if Apple could invent a way to connect multiple iPads to form an 88 key piano keyboard with velocity sensitivity and sustain pedal, that would be truly epic). With built in score functionality, and endless editing options, overall, this is by far the best music production software out there.

Cons

Overall Logic Pro is the best music production software I have used. The only downsides I have encountered are a few software glitches, including a problem when exporting audio. There is some kind of glitch I have experienced on and off for years, when audio is exported or bounced, instead of ending at the end of the recording, it keeps going on for several minutes after the audio has stopped, ending up with several minutes of silence at the end of each track I need to manually cut out. Another area for improvement might be ease of switching between views. While the interface itself is stunning and very intuitive, switching between views and other functions are not beginner friendly. All kinds of keyboard shortcuts are needed, for example, command K for musical typing window to pop up, etc, and then it gets in the way, so it needs to be repeatedly closed and reopened. Perhaps in the future there could be a way to streamline all of this, so it is more dynamic, and less stop and go.

### "Logic Pro: Get Over Here!"

December 28, 2021

5.0

Eye opener. Being a Pro Tools user for 20 years it was an impressive change. It has the best from all the main DAWs (Avid, Live, etc)

Pros

Everything. Interface UX, FLEX, DOLBY ATMOS integration, Automation, voice to midi, midi plugins, midi scripter, etc etc etc. A W E S O M E.

Cons

No CONS. Really I think everything involved with this DAW is exceptional. At this price point it has a lot of features, like DOLBY mixing, that cost 10 times it's price point in other soft. You wont regret it. Granted.

### "Logic Pro X allows you to easily edit and arrange music by cutting, copying, and pasting sections "

February 15, 2023

5.0

Mixing can also be used to enhance the impact of the music, by adding dynamics, movement, and energy to the mix. Logic Pro X provides tools for creating automation, such as volume and panning changes over time, and plugins for adding special effects and textures to the mix

Pros

A key part of music production is the mixing and mastering stage, where you balance the levels of different tracks and add effects and EQ to create a polished, professional-sounding final mix. Logic Pro X offers a range of tools and plugins to help you achieve this, including the Channel Strip, EQ, and Compressor.

Cons

One of the primary tasks of mixing is to balance the levels and frequencies of different elements in a mix, such as vocals, drums, guitars, and keyboards. Logic Pro X provides a mixer that allows you to adjust the volume, panning, and EQ of each element, as well as add effects such as compression and reverb.

### "Apple's Magnum Opus, shows how good they are at writing software"

November 23, 2021

5.0

Pros

One of the first things I do when trying out music software is to look for presets/demo projects that are included with them and Apple hit the home run with this one. It starts with the project file for Ocean Eyes by \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] which lets you get an insight into Finneas mind and \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] impressive vocal arrangements, followed by the Spatial Audio project for Montero by \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] which serves as a mind blowing tech demo for the new mixing features as well as an example of a very intricate project running without dropping a sweat thanks to the M1 chip optimization. Both of this show Apple's influence in the industry, since no one else could get project files directly from such high profile artists, as well as give you an idea of how complete is the toolset in Logic. Neither of this projects have plugins, nor do they need them. Logic pro is a good value at $200, but it's specially noticeable since you have to compare it to the more-expensive "Suite" versions of the other DAWs that cost at least x4 as much. Audio manipulation was another highlight. Both of this artists are known for complex vocal arrangements and, specially \[SENSITIVE CONTENT\] heavy use of pitch correction. I expected to get an auto-tune bounce of the vocals but I was greatly surprised when I found that not only were the alternative versions of the phrases included (both of them do a lot of vocal comping) but the pitch correction was also done natively, which means you could explore the raw samples.

Cons

I'm not the biggest fan of Piano Roll/Midi editing, since I feel is more geared towards recording rather than building with a mouse and keyboard like some of the competition (e.g. Live, FL studio). Dealing with a big sample library is also a bit weird, but what I found that works best is to look for the samples on Finder or on something like the Splice app and drag-and-drop them directly into the session/sampler I'm using.

### "An Excellent DAW for Apple Users"

November 19, 2021

5.0

Logic Pro has become my secondary DAW, with many features that keep me coming back for more. The optimization on Apple products is incredible; it's very hard for me to max-out mixes on my 2019 iMac. The Match EQ plugin is very useful for matching sounds (vocal takes, mixes), the Drummer instrument is stunning, and the unique editing features are well-suited to certain projects. I would need to see drastic improvement in the speed of the audio engine to consider fully switching, but it is an exemplary DAW which deserves the attention of every musician on an Apple product.

Pros

Logic Pro X is a full-featured digital audio workstation that can easily meet the needs of beginners and pros alike. Those who grew up on Apple Garageband will find the interface immediately familiar while expanding their mixing knowledge. For professionals, all the bells and whistles are here, especially the included effects and libraries, which are considered some of the best stock plugins on the market. The Logic Drummer instrument is mind-blowingly good, with perfect studio sound and amazing A.I. performances. And all this in a clean, tidy interface. Logic Pro will reward users to spend time to dig deeper into its feature set, and at the price, it's hard to beat.

Cons

However, Logic is (rightly) notorious for being counterintuitive at times. Important functions are often hidden away in contextual menus; Logic hides most of its essential features unless you activate them in preferences (again, seeming to favour the beginner over the professional); attempts at simplifying the recording process are poorly executed; the Auto-Punch feature will randomly kick in while recording; a gap in playback can be heard when punching in audio takes, and many other basic functions result in long Google searches to figure out. Plus, updates tend to emphasize showy new features over improving functionality.

Alternatives considered

[Pro Tools](https://www.capterra.com/p/214607/Pro-Tools/)[Reason](https://www.capterra.com/p/232805/Reason/)[REAPER](https://www.capterra.com/p/214602/Reaper/)[Studio One](https://www.capterra.com/p/214600/Studio-One/)

Reason for choosing Logic Pro

I was hoping to integrate myself further into the Apple ecosystem while taking advantage of the massive performance optimization of Logic Pro, and it did not disappoint in that category. It's snappier than Pro Tools, and the interface is less cramped and clunky than Reason, and will feel familiar to audio professionals.

### "Logic Pro a must have for beginners or advanced musicians!"

July 6, 2022

4.0

The benefits Logic offered me is to be creative, a program that lets me record my ideas. For me to come back to a different moment or day.

Pros

Outside of the many Filters and effects it provides. I think Logic Pro can be a creative tool for any musician to just experiment with recording their songs. Try different effects or use the build instrument plugins and play around with piano's violins even if your main instrument is just the guitar. I've experienced many times by just recording an idea or riff gave me new ideas to create entire songs.

Cons

I would love if Logic would offer maybe more presets like Drum Packages that you can use to play along with or other instruments. I have not even discovered everything about Logic there are so many tools. So far I've only used the basics, which just does the job for whatever I'm doing. Record my music in a pro way and make it ready to be used for Youtube.

### "Logic Pro X: My DAW of Choice"

September 29, 2022

5.0

I remember when Apple dropped Logic (the little brother to Garage Band) and never really paid any attention to it until I purchased my Macbook Pro 14" M1 laptop as my new DAW hardware and purchased Logic Pro X - by the good council from my fellow Mac Musician Friends... My world improved 100-fold since I switched over!

Pros

Logic Pro X is my DAW of choice for a variety of reasons. First and foremost, it's incredibly user-friendly. I'm not a pro, but I quickly got up and running with Logic Pro X. It also has an impressive array of features that allows me to create the exact sound I'm looking for. Finally, the support community is top-notch. If you ever have a question or need help, plenty of people are willing to lend a hand.

Cons

I wish there were an up-to-date book out there for Logic Pro X. You have to dig around in different communities on Discord, Twitch,, and Facebook, aside from what's out there on the internet. As the old joke goes, if there's a book out, it's outdated... however, with the plethora of video options that are out there, from YouTube to paid-learning, one has to just make an gamble on your own research.

Logic has always been fun to use since it's not very complex to use. It's safe to say i will never think of switching to any other DAW.

Pros

Logic is the most comprehensive DAW in my opinion. it's amazing to produce different genres of music without getting lost in the technicalities behind it.

Cons

I think logic is lacking in the sample management area. It deserves a new sample manager with many subcategories. Logic also needs to improve the GUI of its older plugins.

For over 10 years I have been using Logic and have absolutely enjoyed being a part of growing with the software as well. No other music production software gives you a complete system like this and you can not beat the price.

Pros

I have used Logic for a number of years going back to Logic 8. This by far delivers the best bang for the buck. I can not think of any other DAW that is complete and does not require anything 3rd party to operate. You can do absolutely everything in this software and once you buy it, it is yours.

Logic pro served me well in my many years of music composition and recording, allowing me to reach goals that I never even dreamt of before, all within my study room. You need plenty of time and effort to get the best out of it but it’s totally worth it

Pros

It may be expensive, it may look overwhelming on the first uses, but one you get the hang of it, it is as powerful as you may ask and dream for. A tool capable to cater to the needs of pros as well as beginners willing to invest time and effort

Cons

The price may look a bit too steep for an amateur / total beginner, but the pro feature set very much justifies it. The learning curve just to get started is a bit steep, but then it’s up to you dwell more or less deep in the many many features and capabilities available

Logic is quite an industry standard and therefore engineers and producers can come along and have at least a basic knowledge so that is a benefit. For basic tasks its perfect and you can also go in deep on your edits for more intricate work.

Pros

I have used logic since version 9 and had actually left to use another DAW as I was frustrated by all the menus you had to navigate to load plug-ins. In the latest version this issue has been addressed, making the ease of use and time taken to load a new plug-in much better. The audio editing is great as is the multi-tool. I like that logic has been improved up to a standard alongside Pro Tools and Studio One in regard to editing.

Cons

The mixing and mastering side of logic still lacks the finer details found in other DAWS. This does not matter so much with mastering for me as I would outsource this task. You can get a very good mix in logic I just find it a bit fiddly when you have so many tracks that you can't easily jump around where you want to be.

Esperienza ottima, continuo ad usare Logic Pro X per ogni mia produzione musicale nonché per editing audio.

Pros

### "Logic Pro gives you a professional DAW for one price for life!"

May 13, 2022

4.0

I use Logic Pro's Drummer instrument to create backing tracks for many artists' original songs. It saves me hours of time compared to drawing notes in MIDI, and sounds fully-mixed out-of-the-box! I find Apple's constant hiding of professional features annoying though.

Pros

Logic's AI-powered Drummer instrument is worth the price of admission alone—it gives you a massive selection of professionally-recorded and mixed drummers, but you can play with their style and feel, and even convert the loops to MIDI to edit individual notes. Logic Pro requires a one-time purchase and updates are free for life. An outstanding deal. Logic's beautiful and elegant layout makes organising mixes easy.

Cons

Recording realtime into plugins, while sending cue mix to talent, was unusable. Recording often has long dropouts. Many of the most advanced (and necessary) features are hidden by default—apparently to make Logic more accessible to beginners, but this can make Logic feel obtuse to professionals.
