And just like many other softwares developed by Apple Inc, there is always that potential limitation for cross platform users. Pros I have both been experimenting and using Logic Pro X for sound designing for instructional videos in order to match user experience with needs. This software comes with a wide range of tools and features for creative and experimental sound designing. My favorite tool is the audio editor which I use to edit and manipulate dialogue, music and other background audio elements. It is very intuitive for pitch shifting especially in monotone conversations which tend to be boring. The time stretching also helps in extending background audio clips. Instructional audios and video often require a great high level of clarity and Logic Pro X allows me to set required sample rate and bit depth that matches the requirements of my sound design project. Cons My main challenge with Logic Pro X has been compatibility issues. This is a macOS only software and for someone who works in a cross platform environment, it can be challenging and a bit limiting. However, it is easy to use its vast and resourceful audio effects in other platforms with a little know how. August 14, 2023 4.0 Se uso Mac è inevitabile che io usi Logic Pro, oltre ad Fl Studio. Il software già pieno di plugin e fx, oltre ad un buon contenuto riguardante la libreria di suoni, si comporta egregiamente, e con un po' di "smanettamento", sicuramente è oltre ad Fl Studio, ovviamente a parer mio, una delle migliori DAW in circolazione per intuitività, produttività e risultato Pros Il software di Apple è una delle DAW più competitive sul mercato. Grazie ad una vasta quantità di plugin ed fx, il software si presente già completo non appena si acquista. Lo uso molto raramente in quanto dotato di Windows e FL Studio, ma quando sono in determinati posti e c'è Mac, inevitabile trovare Logic Pro! Over time I have learnt how to integrate LP with Final Cut Pro. I would like to see more done to make LP work better with M1 Pro Computers. Pros It is impressive what I am able to achieve in short time by using Logic Pro (LP) live loops. There are tons of loops available which allow me to experiment various songs ideas. I have been able to create projects with loops only and export them as XML to Final Cut Pro. The loops are very adjustable and flexible to work with in LP and I am able to use a control surface with a lot of ease for faster workflow. Cons I was excited with news of LP optimization for M1 Pro computers. However, it has been tears for me and a long story of regrets for another day. Nothing seems to work anymore. The software keeps on crashing. There does not seem to be a solution and almost tempted to move on to something else for now. Audio Engineer/Instructor/Composer Music Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Logic Pro Insight" January 20, 2021 5.0 When I was working on DragonBall Z: Light Of Hope, and was called upon to compose the fight scene; I needed an edge to really dig into both the composition, and the initial mix. I couldn't get to a major studio early on, so I just used my laptop, headphones & Logic. Combined with the VST's I had, I was able to complete the scene as well as complete a rough draft mix of the 30 minute short film. I would have been very difficult to move from studio to studio to complete this, and Logic literally saved the day!!!! That was my crowning achievement as it helped the film go viral, & I could not have done it without Logic Pro. Pros Since becoming a full time composer; I love using this software!! The ability to be able to seamlessly use various virtual instruments via MIDI gives this software its strength. No doubt it's greatly improved my quality of compositional music, & it's great for mixing as well. Having used other DAW's for composition; this HANDS down is one of the best in the market today! Cons One of my biggest gripes is when it comes to user windows & quick keys. It's not too user intuitive when it comes to having to quickly mix a song, although it's not as bad as people say. I liked Pros I like the templates that come pre-designed for different options and initial configurations such as a drummer, a microphone and a sequencer. The effects are very complete, mainly the 8-band parametric equalizer, since you can create filters from there without the need for other plugins. Using external VSTS was easy, even the ones I had previously installed. And the variety of formats for export was something that I definitely fell in love. While using other DAW's and live concert tools, I found that the native Logic PRO VST's were really amazing, mainly the keyboard sounds, so I decided to switch to Logic Pro and I'm really happy with my decision. The tool has a huge library of effects (compressors, reverb, equalization...) so I always can design the best sounds for my projects. Pros I'm focused in the instrumental recording features and found really powerful the functionality to add VST sounds and filters (equalization, reverb, delays, compression...). The integration capabilities with external keyboards is great and totally automated. Just plug and play!! The Logic Pro community is huge in the different social media and you always find someone with your same experiences/issues ready to help you! Cons To be honest, Logic Pro covers all my daily requirements as a pianist. I haven't found something that I really disliked. Pros I like the general layout and integration with MainStage, and ease of use with 3rd party VSTs. Logic is affordable and is a great 1st DAW to learn on, and is many people’s DAW of choice. Logic Pro just provides so much value and enables my workflow that I would be hard pressed to look elsewhere. It's a different sort of environment from Live by Ableton, which is more pattern-based, while Logic seems to me to be more visually digestible. Pros There is a brief learning curve but in my opinion after that point, Logic Pro becomes very intuitive to use in terms of putting music together quickly and effortlessly. There is a wealth of instruments and sound presets to choose from, and the very strong quality of the built in plugins means that sounds are endlessly customizable. Cons Getting your final mix to sound "professional" is a little more difficult to achieve. There are also individual learning curves associated with individual instruments, which often hide a huge amount of sub-settings.
