There are many good and reliable functions built-in. Pros The noise removal tool in this software has saved many projects for me. I have been able to completely remove room noise from audio recordings by simply sampling silence before the talent speaks. Cons The limiter plug-in is not my favorite as the range you set doesn't seem to be accurate, but it gets the job done. However, Adobe Audition provides you with so many features that it is hard to produce a bad-sounding end result! I've even been able to save audio that sounded terrible and turn it into a great piece. Two key features to make this happen: Adaptive Noise Reduction, and Parametric Equalizer! Even as a beginner, they will make your life so much easier! Cons The only difficult part about Adobe Audition is taking the time to really learn the features and their purpose. Jumping right into trying to edit audio will drive you crazy without properly taking the time to play around with the program and follow a few tutorial videos to understand the basics. Pros Adobe Audition has many tools to make better your audio and change the way it sounds whatever you want it to be. Cons There are some tools that could be developed. For example, the noise reduction feature. Is the one I use too much and it does a good job, but in the case of too noisy audios the sound becomes too artificial after the advanced reduction. Cons It takes quite a while to get used to using and the structure isn't as intuitive as other audio sequencers. Also, it is only audio as full MIDI sequencing isn't yet supported. Pros I am very satisfied with the functionality of Adobe Audition because it allows me to edit my podcasts and significantly improve the audio quality of my work. It's a pretty easy platform to use even for someone who is a neophyte to the audio editing aspects. I have a lot of room for improvement but the results I'm getting are already more than satisfactory. Cons Adobe AUdition has many functions and some audio knowledge is required; that does not depend on AUdition itself but must be known to set up a good work. This is a general limitation but Audition supports Basic users.
