The onboarding was smooth: signed up with my company domain, filled out the approval questionnaire, and the support team was incredibly responsive. Mark from their team handled my application personally and had me up and running same-day. Haven't sent production emails yet (still in development), but the platform UI is intuitive, the API docs are clear, and the template builder is a nice touch for non-developers on my future team. Looking forward to scaling with them as we launch. Pros The startup program approval was instant — submitted my application via the Fin AI Startup Pack, got a response from their support team (Mark) within minutes, and had my Starter 50K plan activated in under 30 minutes. The pricing is extremely competitive for a transactional email platform: 50K emails/month with generous API limits (100K daily requests), 10 sender domains, and 250 templates on the Starter plan. The visual template builder and API documentation look clean and well-organized. As a solo developer building a SaaS platform, the DX-first approach with multiple SDKs and a straightforward REST API is exactly what I need. Cons SMS support is limited to USA and Canada numbers only — no Southeast Asian country support yet. Would love to see Indonesian (+62) SMS in the future. Also, the 7-day activity retention on the Starter plan feels short for debugging delivery issues — sometimes you need to investigate email problems that users report days later. We hit a genuine issue with hard bounces caused by placeholder email addresses in our user base, and MailerSend handled it professionally: clear communication, a practical path to a fix via the Email Verification API, and responsive, courteous support that restored our account quickly once we shared the details. The enforcement felt strict in the moment, but it reflects a platform that takes deliverability seriously, and the team made the resolution easy. We'd be comfortable continuing to rely on MailerSend. Pros The support and the tooling around deliverability stood out. When our account reputation changed due to a high hard bounce rate, MailerSend flagged it proactively and explained clearly what had happened and what we needed to do. The guidance was concrete and actionable, and their Email Verification API made it straightforward to validate addresses in real time and stop sending to invalid recipients. Support was also fast and friendly — once we replied with our context, the account was reviewed and restored to normal the same day. Cons The reputation change came with an immediate, fairly aggressive rate-limit reduction (from 120 to 10 requests per minute) before we had a chance to respond, which is disruptive for a legitimate, time-sensitive mailing like a term renewal. A heads-up or a softer initial throttle, with a short window to explain the situation first, would have been less stressful. More granular bounce reporting up front — making it easier to immediately identify exactly which addresses were failing — would also have sped up our diagnosis. There are many attractive templates and the mailing editor is intuitive. The price is very fair. Cons To be honest, after a year of use, I haven't noticed any real drawbacks. I have the free version, which already offers many features. Pros What I like most is how easy it is to use, and if you're looking for instructions on how to do something specific, it's very easy to find the answer in the Help Center. Everything is explained very clearly. Cons I really can't find anything I don't like about Mailer Lite. In my first campaign, I realized that many of my subscribers were getting my emails in their spam folders, but Mailerlite has a well-explained article on how to prevent this. Stay away from this company unless you do not care about your transactional emails delivery. Pros UI is nice although sometimes it is buggy. Used to offer a generous plan with no monthly fee (no longer) Supports responds quickly but it is not flexible. Cons Their spam review process is completely terrible. I received ONE spam complaint (from thousands of emails being sent for over half a year) and account was suspended within a few days when I was on holiday and had limited access to computer, which prevented customer emails from being sent. To reactivate email sending, their requirement was to add a recaptcha and email verifications using their add-on service, which is somewhat reasonable but obviously takes time to do. They did not enable email sending until the latter was implemented. They changed their free plan (Hobby) to $7/mo forcing users to pay a monthly fee instead of just overage and the Free plan is a joke now. We were always worried that the email would go to spam or promotion, but now our clients sometimes say "how did your FIRST email got into my inbox with a star on it?".For us, email is critical for the businesses that we help and MailerSend has been playing a critical role. Better still, they have humans that respond and read what you write to them when you need. This is extremely important. Pros It has a strictly anti-spam police and this benefits those that use email as a tool to deliver messages that the client wants to see. Cons I have tested a lot of softwares on the market, the only thing about MailerSend is it's pricing, but overall it can double our open rate which in turns makes it even cheaper that every other tool. I had a delay because I'm using Cloudflare and forgot to set my DNS records to "only dns" to bypass their proxy. As soon as I did it, my account was active and ready to be tested. After sending 20-30 emails I applied the "upgrade" for the Free plan, and that was it. It's been working with great deliverability rates since. Pros The free tier is very generous at 12k emails/month, perpetually. Which makes it perfect for a small size e-commerce or growing online community. Since it has a pay-as-you-go model, you can use it even for higher # of emails without having to commit to higher monthly fees elsewhere (specially for volumes that will go unused). Cons So far, I haven't seen any on the technical side. On the cost side, after 20k emails/month it would make more sense to move to a different provider, I wish they could review this, as is not ideal to jump from provider to provider as one scales. It would be preferable to just stay under MailerSend, maintaining the economical benefit. I was able to use MailerSend in a project once; however, the two other projects where I recommended MailerSend received very bad treatment. The account was denied approval for no sensible reason, and one of them even got suspended. This is after effort had gone into integration with the applications being built.
