As far as software's go one of the top 5 I've used in terms of it working how you expect and the support. They deliver what they promise and have essentially taken over lease accounting for the company. Pros Integrates seamlessly with NetSuite, Automates monthly JEs and reporting. 842 adoption was literally as easy as clicking a button and the system has all the transition and financial reporting reports. Cons There are a few follow up areas I needed to have help with after implementation, but honestly that is because we had specific GL reporting need from the automatic JEs and the support team helped us resolve all of the issues quickly. Reason for choosing NetLease I considered a few other products and NetLease being able to integrate with NetSuite and familiarity in getting reports is what sold us. Review Source CC Cody C. April 13, 2022 5.0 Pros We have a handful of leases and it would have been too difficult to maintain that number of records using spreadsheets. With NetLease we were able to automate our lease accounting for IFRS and US GAAP books in Netsuite. Monthly amortisation journals, lease modifications, short /long term reclasses and terminations are posted just with a click of a button. The reports that we can build in NetLease are great for monthly reconciliations, financial disclosures preparation and budgeting. Overall, NetLease is the perfect solution for lease accounting. Since implementation, we press one button and our monthly lease entries are done. Having an easy to use and efficient software saves our team hours of reconciliation and set up work. Setting up new leases is easy and the software can handle all our needs. I don't know what more I could say about this project other than I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a lease system. Pros The software works as described and we completed our transition faster than we had hoped. The implementation team was very helpful and knowledgeable. It's great that we don't have to worry about using a separate solution, and our entries post directly to the GL. It's super easy to modify leases, and the software as a whole is really intuitive. Most importantly, we were able to transition from ASC 840 to 842 with just the click of the button. This is something we'd been anxious about for months, and it was a nice surprise how simple it was. Cons I really can't think of anything. It was extremely easy to integrate with NetSuite, and has continued to work really well for us. Review Source KA Kari A. February 22, 2022 5.0 Pros My favorite things about this software are the ease of use/implementation and the knowledge that we are in compliance with GAAP/FASB standards. The implementation was a breeze! Once we had all of the information together the implementation was very simple and the implementation team was honestly top notch! Any issues we had were on our end and not understanding the new lease rules and even then, our questions were answered. The team is not only knowledgeable about the product but all the accounting rules that the product guarantees compliance with. Cons I don't really have con. It may take us a while to get used to the new way of recording our lease payments, but Netlease did a great job of changing as little as possible in this regard. Reason for choosing NetLease We chose NetLease over using the fixed assets module, which has an option to record leases to the new standard, because of the ease of use and reporting. NetLease offers easy modification of leases, reports, and customer service that we did not feel was provided with the out of the box product in NetSuite. Review Source TD Tyler D. Before NetLease, we had one large excel file that contained all of our lease data. Since implementing NetLease, I press one button and our monthly entries are done. NetLease has made us a more efficient accounting department. I would highly recommend NetLease. This product is amazing. Cons So far, we have not experienced any problems with NetLease. Pros It is a very flexible product for operating leases and finance leases, it can handle all of our leases Cons Not see any shortcomings yet; maybe later when we have complex leases. NetLease provides as the ability to easily manage our leases. Combined with extensive reporting options, it provides us (and our auditors) comfort that we are reporting accurate figures. Cons NetLease entries are a different transaction type than the usual Netsuite types which requires that permissions be granted to various roles that would need to drill down into GL reports. I personally appreciated how knowledgeable the staff members were about general accounting and the complexity of the ASC 842 standard. They answered a lot of our questions and helped us adapt the system to our internal needs. The reporting section was done incredibly well. Reports are detailed and useful for financial statements footnotes and your internal accounting purposes (i.e. rollforward). Cons No complaints so far. Only been using it for less than 6 months. Pros This is a convenient way to deal with the added complexities of the ASC842 accounting guidance. Once it is set up, it's a click of a button each month to do the accounting entries and they post directly into NetSuite without an additional journal entry upload. Cons The initial data entry into the system took a while and was a bit cumbersome. Getting access to the data within the reports can be non-intuitive. Review Source AH Alec H. They made the transition and implementation as smooth as possible. Pros Before NetLease was implemented our leases were tracked in Excel spreadsheet and deferred rent was tracked manually. The sheet was clunky and cumbersome. With NetLease this process went from 100% manual to mostly automated. Saving me lots of time and stress during our month end close.
