### "Well-priced and effective solution with a few quirks"

I'm happy with the experience. For what it would cost to program a replacement product on my own, this is very cost-effective, and generally easy to navigate.

Pros

Plumsail did exactly what it promised, and I needed - it allowed me to create a new DOCX document with whatever dynamic content I required (HTML, images, text, tables, etc.). Once I figured out how the system worked and got around a couple of quirks, the system worked as defined without issue.

Cons

2 things come to mind: 1) The documentation was a little hard to navigate, especially when looking at differences in capabilities between Modern and Classic template engines. 2) Using the "Edit in Desktop" editor could be finnicky for me - it generally worked great, but seemed to a have a timeout after 5 minutes or so. After that amount of time, my changes from the Desktop editor may or may not save successfully.

Overall, Plumsail Documents has been a great addition and we hope to continue using Plumsail in the future.

Pros

Integration between Plumsail and Power Automate is great. It automates a huge part of our process and reduces the time required on man power.

Cons

Plumsail Documents was a bit difficult to set up. Also the change from Classic to Modern was a bit confusing. I had to re write a lot of the backend values and code because things in Classic just stopped working.

Plumsail is an excellent solution to help automate document creation tasks in Microsoft Power Automate. I used the "Fill in PDF Form" action to create a PDF form associated with every submission of digital form. Once it was up and running, documents were created without issue and were easily saved into our Sharepoint.

Pros

Plumsail had the support to help me automate the filling out of PDF forms, which allowed us to keep and generate said documents in our Sharepoint.

Cons

Some of the documentation for using Plumsail with Power Automate, specifically JSON structure for PDF form entries, was a not detailed enough for my use case and required some guess and check in my flows.

A couple months in we are loving that we found this software. It's expanded our business reporting capacity and increased the speed at which we can view our data!

Pros

A rare combination of speed and features in the document generation space. We do complex reports that it returns very quickly!

Cons

A few UI features could use additional development. Pricing is a little steep per document. Would love more direct support options for companies / enterprise with high usage as a critical business tool.

I certainly use the Plumsail Documents service as part of the whole Plumsail ecosystem together with Plumsail Forms and HelpDesk. I am looking at the OrgChart service. The ease of use of Plumsail Documents service and functionality allows you to quickly automate business processes in your company and no longer think about the basic principles of automation. It is incredibly convenient!

Pros

After trying many similar services (pdf4me, encodian) I chose plumsail because it provides the best combination of price for the operation of filling my engineers' report templates in WORD. Moreover, filling a WORD template and subsequent conversion from WORD to PDF is just one operation! Very convenient and economical.

Cons

Nothing. That's right, no cons! Except that my appetite grows while eating, and now I want to transfer to this service all business operations in the company for filling out WORD templates (commercial proposals, travel requests, and even automatic filling out of contracts!).

What I liked most about Plumsail Documents is how easy it makes the document automation process. It’s very intuitive to use, integrates smoothly with Power Automate, and helps save a lot of time by generating professional documents automatically. It really improved efficiency in my workflows.

Cons

Sometimes the learning curve can be a bit steep at the beginning, and it takes some time to configure advanced templates. However, once set up, it works very well.

Frustrating at first, but good once formatting was clear. Would have been simple to use for generic purposes with prefilled templates.

Pros

Achieves the document templating services I need. Short setup process, and integrates nicely with automation products.

Cons

I had trouble figuring out the formatting for what I wanted to achieve. Simple documents would have been easy, but eg documents with a non-repeating title, but multiple different subtitles and "sections" inside from Excel was not as clear (either title started repeating as well or all sections were not included etc)

Overall, my experience with Plumsail Documents has been largely positive. Pros

I love how easy and fast it is to create templates. It really cuts down on the time I spend setting things up. The ability to generate forms directly from document fields is super handy. It streamlines everything and makes sure data collection is consistent. The way Plumsail integrates with Microsoft systems like SharePoint and Power Automate is spot on. It fits right into my existing workflow without any hassle. The documentation is detailed but easy to follow. It’s been a lifesaver, especially when figuring out how to use Power Automate effectively. I appreciate the flexibility in delivery channels. Whether it’s emailing documents or storing them in the cloud, I can choose the method that works best for me. The pricing is very reasonable for what you get. Cons

The document editor can be a bit tricky to work with, especially when making changes to longer documents. It doesn’t feel as smooth or intuitive as I’d like, which can make editing more cumbersome than it should be. Also, the testing mode has some limitations that I find confusing. Although you can test document generation, you can’t fully test the Power Automate process without a paid plan. This feels a bit restrictive, particularly since there’s already a cap on the number of test runs.

So far, I have had a great time thinking of new processes, it seems like as soon as I start working on one something else pops up that can help even more.

Pros

It is great to be able to make any form that I need and the fact that I can dictate how I receive them and how they are named, is time saving. There are not a lot of delivery methods, but they definitely hit the major ones, so anyone should be able to find a way to disseminate their documents.

Cons

I do wish that there were more actions available, but there isn't anything significantly missing, except for maybe the ability to print documents.

Reason for choosing Plumsail Documents

Very easy to use, the worst part of the product is trying to get the Power Automate to work with it. Plumsail is the easy part.

Pros

Ease of use when used with Zapier to generate Word or PDF documents using our own templates and data from online services we create.

Cons

Not a massive fan of editing the documents in Google Docs as some of our original word templates do strange things, but doesn't take much to fix them and to be expected i guess using very old word desktop documents.

Integrated with Azure Logic Apps for invoice processing. Process takes binary PDF data and consolidates documents into a single PDF to send to the customer. Most of the solutions found in Logic Apps wouldn't accept an array input, which we needed in our process. Adobe has a solution (which I used), but to deal with them wasn't an easy subscription-based signup process. They don't publish pricing and it would have invovled a meeting with a sales rep. Trial ran out (which wasn't much), and I tested several alternatives before finding Plumsail.

Pros

No hassle subscription-based service, with monthly option, no 'contract' or sales agent needing to be involved. Trial allotment was quite generous.

Cons

No issues encountered at all. Perhaps for our usage (consolidating PDF's into single documents), it could cost less, but it still appeared to be the best fit for our requirements.

Pros

In the construction industry, lien waivers are extremely tedious and costly in terms of labor. With the help from Plumsail, I was able to create a web-based lien waiver process for our vendors. I was able to build and execute the form and document creation systems during the free trial period and due to our low volume, Plumsail customer service team gave us a custom plan catered to our needs. Couldn't be happier.

Cons

I would love to utilize the inkpad option in the form and have it get imposed onto our document. Would also like to see the inkpad option be a required form field in addition.

Power Automate does not have this solution, but was able to find Plumsail through Power Automate's compatible connectors.

### "Great product which makes our live easier"

Quite positive. Just would like to have a running subscription that prevents flows from failing due to the expiration. This interrupts our processes. Also, we would like to have a test environment. Currently, for testing purposes we are consuming credits which are meant for production.

Pros

Merge documents (text with docx) and convert docx to pdf, excel occasional

Cons

Lacking of a test set-up that prevents consuming credits purchased for production.

To prevent flows from failing due to the expiration, we advise our customers to buy additional documents or switch to the annual subscription, this could help. Also, there is a testing mode in the Processes, if to enable it, you won't spend your credits using the action Start document generation process in Flows. We're thinking of implementing this feature in some actions for Power Automate. Your feedback is very helpful!
