QA Automation Engineer Computer Software Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Intuitive 3D printing for all" July 22, 2022 5.0 I have used Ultimaker Cura for both my private projects and for work and I have to say, I couldn't be more satisfied. First of all, the software covers the whole 3D printing process, beginning with model import, through adjustments and slicing, and finishing with the printing itself. All necessary tools are built-in and integrated. All features - import/export, previews (of model and layers), slicing, printer settings, monitoring, etc. work correctly and are integrated almost seamlessly. I do not recall encountering any bugs during my use. Each option or button is well described and extremely easy to use. Cura guides a user step by step through the whole process. Additionally, it has a free, community version that is fully functional. I can highlight only minor downsides of the software, as there are no big ones. Firstly, the Enterprise version could be cheaper - if a company has a lot of 3D printers, the license can cost a lot. Secondly, documentation or customer help is not so extensive. However, as Cura is quite popular, most of the cases are already resolved/responded in the internet so it is not a problem. And finally, on older machines, it can take some time to run Cura - but once it is on - it works smoothly. To sum up, Ultimaker Cura is the amazing software containing all utilities needed to handle the whole 3D printing process. To tell the truth, it is the best I tried and I can recommend it with a clear conscience. If you have a 3D printer - totally worth it! Pros Fully functional free version. Integrated functionalities covering the whole 3D printing process. Exceptional ease of use. Reliability. Cons The paid version could be a little cheaper. Customer service/Documentation could be better. Longer boot times on weaker/older computers. Pros I found the way in which all the functions are placed in the program very attractive, this makes it very intuitive to use and does not need any training, only knowing the most important parameters in 3D printing. In addition, if you want to experiment or delve into more specific printing parameters, you can be sure that there are some plugins or some experimental features that will make it easier for you. On arrive très facilement a trouver de l'aide sur les forums de part cette popularité. Extrêmement simple d’utilisation c'est pour moi le meilleur logiciel pour débutant. A contrario si vous voulez rentrer dans les différentes fonctionnalités il s’avère très complet. Par contre la gestion des supports n'est à la hauteur du reste, pas précis, nous avons pas la main sur chaque supports comme d'autres logiciels. Le plus gros défaut pour MOI, le temps calculé et estimer est rarement correct on arrive facilement a 30 ou 40 min de plus que l'estimation. Passer ce défaut c'est mon logiciel préfère simple ergonomique design minimaliste mais ne manquant pas de fonctionnalités. Pros Simple d'utilisation, très ergonomique, des fonctionnalités que l'on retrouve pas chez la concurrence. Cons La gestion des supports, le temps d'impression. Pros Le logiciels est simple à l'usage et il existe une foule de paramêtres pour confirgurer la création du code. Pour moi qui était novice, les explications associées à chaque paramètre m'ont permis de prendre en main facilement l'application. Le mode simple ou avancé permet aussi des paramètre par défaut déjà satisfaisant.
