We were prepared to forgive any UI/reporting flaws on the basis that it did one thing well. Over the last six months the deteriorating support and frequent bugs made it unviable to continue with the product. Email deliverability is too important to trust to a platform with a likely limited future. Pros Muxemail uses a particular quirk in Amazon pricing to integrate with Amazon SES for ultra-cheap email sending. By hosting the actual application on EC2, even large email sends (10,000 emails plus) can end up costing you less than $1 a month. It's a no-frills option for sending email broadcasts (forget about automations and sequences which are discussed below) Cons The learning curve to set up Amazon SES and validate is very high for those who aren't particular techy. while they provide resources to assist, it still is time-consuming and fiddly. Competitors such as sendy do this automatically on your behalf, which is a massive advantage. The UI is incredibly basic, and the email editor underpowered if you are going to do anything other than plain text emails. This isn't an issue if you design your emails externally and then import across the html. Reporting is very under-powered. While you can access total clicks/opens - it pretty much stops there. Link clicks are aggregated at an individual user level, effectively making it useless for any decision-making or segmentation. Support was initially pro-active but has dwindled to nothing over time. I, sadly, can't recommend this mailer. Pros It gives you free 5000 subscribers at first. It uses amazon SES and you're supposed to use its benefits, but with only 5000 subscribers allowed, you won't get so much out of it. Cons I'm afraid the provider is very basic and doesn't cover enough features to keep me going. At the same time, I was promised unlimited subscribers. However, they only allowed 5000 with their new upgrade. It's a very limited service and their non free options are pricey compared to other providers. Pros MuxEmail has a beautiful and intuitive user interface and the tool is clearly very powerful. The team behind the tool is also very enthusiastic about their product. They also help you with setting up your Amazon SES and getting production access. The tool also offers API and webhooks, which means it can be easily integrated with any other leading tool out there. Cons MuxEmail is a little limited in terms of automation. Also, so far it only integrates with Amazon SES.
