Pros Sage payroll is an amazing tool to create and manage a companies payroll. It is easy to use and has a variety of reports which are helpful for reference. Cons My least favourite part about sage payroll is the formatting of reports when exported to excel, as they can become overwhelming. I was frustrated by the company’s lack of comprehensive services, relying instead on third-party partners that disrupted seamless payroll management. Key features like Direct Deposit failed to function, and my application remained unresolved for over a month. I expressed disbelief that in an era of major technological advancements—such as planned human missions to Mars—basic payroll processes could still be so inefficient and poorly handled. Pros I did not use their accounting. My comments is specific to their Sage Payrill and Basic HR. I did not see any value in uisng that except wasting 1 months of precious time trying to resolve very basic issues with their technical support. Cons No value or advantage of using such a middle-ware for Payroll. Not helpful customer service. The take on was stressful. First contact them for at least 2 days virtual training plus minus R5k and then start with a company for implementation /take over. Ensure they run all reports in order to compare. Pros It's easy to use and have several shortcuts to save time BUT you need training which don't get provided. ADDITIONAL COST Cons There is NO training and don't even get mentioned in their quotes The installation team guide you but Vs their speed and knowledge...and this is taking hrs of your installation quote. Only stresses me out more due to lack of knowledge. I have tried other programs, but none support a union employer like Sage Payroll. Pros What I love about Sage Payroll is the easy of setup. We are a union company and Sage Payroll supports the processing of a union payroll. I highly recommend it for this reason alone. Cons I guess my only complaint is that it is not a cloud based program and you cannot save files within this software.
