Cons Although they have a good knowledge base and related documentation, there is a lack of support for the customer who has purchased a license they should have more real time support by connecting through any tool and seeing the error without so much documentation or evidence that is sometimes required by other means and more support for configurations and troubleshooting or configuration. Pros The monitoring and notifications are extremely useful to have in a single place, as well as using a small amount of resource to allow it being self-hosted. Cons I personally think the knowledge base is key for setting up and managing due to there is alot to configure and to understand. But for the more experienced, it's a useful bit of kit. Cons My company has since parted with the software due to other systems being more cost affective however, I still believe it should be good value for your buck considering the features are getting. Pros What my customers like most about PRTG is that it allows them to maintain a general overview of their overall infrastructure. This way, if they have any incidents or alerts, they can respond quickly. They also appreciate the product's price-to-quality ratio, as the price per node is approximately $3. Cons My customers' biggest complaint about this tool is that it lacks a wider range of features compared to its competitors. This is because it is literally only for monitoring. It does not allow me to remotely intervene in my infrastructure or make adjustments online. For this, I need to have other third-party tools to complement PRTG.
