With the CAST tool they are covering all automation pain points when trying to automate the test cases with open source tools, this is a complete solution for continuous testing. They know what they are doing, very fast in supporting and helping you to take the test automation process to the next level. Pros \- Easy to customize. - very easy to automate the tests for frontend and backend. - possibility to implement shift left and shift right approach with consolidated logging and smart monitoring implemented with AI technologies. - easy to integrate test automation in CI/CD pipelines. - Test management, reporting and test automation in one tool. - Possibility to integrate with Xray in Jira. Scrum Master Automotive Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "How to do Test Automation at scale right" March 6, 2021 5.0 Testing for acceptance is often not explicitly or broadly addressed which leads to different perspectives, strategies, tools and behaviours slowly eroding joint approaches in large scale development ending up in unknown quality and therefor risking constant business value. That said, Testifi stands out from the crowd because their mission is not introducing testing for the sake of it but ensuring business value fully covering enterprise projects. Pros Testifi's CAST framework aims to be the common and stable language for every party concerned in creating great products: stakeholders, developers, testers, and governance/compliance. Besides the fact, that CAST is a software it's not about the software primarily but deep collaboration between those groups of individuals. However, to withstand large-scale enterprise environments many requirements need to be fulfilled: maturity, integrability, robustness, scalability and especially versatility. CAST is capable of all of them. - Full E2E testing capabilities - Agnostic to technology of system under test (HTTP/API, Web, .NET, AngularJS, Native Apps, DB, Logs, Msg Queues, ...) - Supports especially ATDD for large initiatives - Supports high level of test modularity - High level of extensibility by fully customizable plugins - Comfortable test writing process - Tests are handled like code - Full IDE integration (Eclipse, IntelliJ) - Full integration with any tool stack possible (e.g. Jira/Xray/etc) - Full integration with analysis tools like ELK, Splunk, etc - Well documented Cons TA is hard, TA at scale is harder. Therefor, CAST is no magic weapon. It still requires effort as any new framework brings with it. From our experience it takes about 6-8 weeks for a senior developer to lower the efforts for creating and maintaining tests by about 80%. There is absolutely no temptation for any human corner cutting. Cons That the company is young and it's capabilities still developing. But they listen, and are learning fast, and with every deployment gaining experience. Early adopters (especially in new industries) have more influence, therefore the risks far outweigh the benefits. Very dedicated and customer-oriented. Pros Initially, we started with no automated approach at all. Having the Testify software makes it easy to plug in into our CICD pipelines. The personal exchange with \[SENSITIVE CONTENT HIDDEN\] was very helpful, too. Cons We plan to extend automated testing into IAC e.g. terraform, not only Java Code. It supports shift left and shift right strategies, it deals with existing technical debt and enables tests to be more effective. Important it breaks down the boundaries between roles in development teams. The integration with Jira and Xray is powerful and the close integration with the other C.I. tools makes life easier and more effective. Cons The solution is much more than just a 'tool', so it takes a bit of time to implement this. CAST is only one piece of the puzzle and to use the tool effectively you have to invest some time and effort to improve the processes around it.
