This information has helped make business decisions as well as housing decisions in my personal life. This tool is amazingly accessible and could be more complicated (which would scare entry level users away.) It has a perfect balance between utility and ease of use which is a great way to describe a tool that you keep in your toolbox and use often. Pros Smappen continues to be the clear winner as a tool that provides the data that I can't get from other similar websites. It's ease of use combined with it's straight forward approach to mapping distances as they relate to different modes of transportation makes me keep coming back. This is a valuable tool that I will continue to utilize into the future. Cons On rare occasions it takes me a few moments to remember how to generate a starting point and the requested metric I'm looking for. I'm not sure if this means it's not as intuitive as it could be or if I'm just rushing and filling in the first box I see with an address. This was done by our youth participants in high school and guided by our adult mentors. We are presenting the results to the City Council to get them to provide more places to play ball that are within walking distance. Pros It was easy to use and very quick to implement into reports and studies. The use of multiple areas helped us study how different parks were close to different neighborhoods. We were able to compare walking and biking accessibility. Cons The limits on the free accounts. Also it would be good to know more if Smappen offers free versions for non-profits. Exposing the areas where we need coverage based on populations has been very helpful. Pros Smappen was just what we needed to map out territories. It was very intuitive and easy to use. I tried a few different apps and this one was the easiest. Cons I'd prefer to have the ability to share my smappen map with others while on the lowest price subscription plan. RE Reviewer General Engineer Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Great tool for determining where to live" 5.0 April 26, 2021 I'm solving my personal problem of determining where to live relative to my workplace and other places I care about. I want to limit my driving time for places I frequent, and OALLEY elegantly solves this problem for me by plotting the area that keeps my driving time within acceptable limits. Pros I came across OALLEY because I was searching for software that could do what no other mapping application could -- show me what areas are within a certain driving time, relative to a chosen address. I love how simple OALLEY makes this. It makes it seem so easy that it's astounding Google hasn't already done this. Yet OALLEY is as far as I can tell the only application that lets you see this information. Cons I'm not a commercial user, so I deal with the small annoyances that come from using a free trial version of software. However, those aside, I can't see anything negative about this application. It does exactly what it's supposed to, and probably a lot more for commercial applications. RE Reviewer Sales and Design Used the software for: I used a free trial ### "Simple and Effective" 5.0 July 31, 2023 Pros I used Smappen primarily to mark out areas of travel near to a new business start up which I work for. Simply being able to map our area by hours of travel was great! We found several areas on the map were closer than we had thought and were able to focus in on a specific distance range. Cons I was unsure about the practical application use of many of the extra features, even though there are pop-ups and emails which try to sell you on those features. To be honest, I would rather the Geofencing tool be free with some ads on the side than have more complex features try to be shoved to me.
