This information has helped make business decisions as well as housing decisions in my personal life. This tool is amazingly accessible and could be more complicated (which would scare entry level users away.) It has a perfect balance between utility and ease of use which is a great way to describe a tool that you keep in your toolbox and use often. Pros Smappen continues to be the clear winner as a tool that provides the data that I can't get from other similar websites. It's ease of use combined with it's straight forward approach to mapping distances as they relate to different modes of transportation makes me keep coming back. This is a valuable tool that I will continue to utilize into the future. Cons On rare occasions it takes me a few moments to remember how to generate a starting point and the requested metric I'm looking for. I'm not sure if this means it's not as intuitive as it could be or if I'm just rushing and filling in the first box I see with an address. This was done by our youth participants in high school and guided by our adult mentors. We are presenting the results to the City Council to get them to provide more places to play ball that are within walking distance. Pros It was easy to use and very quick to implement into reports and studies. The use of multiple areas helped us study how different parks were close to different neighborhoods. We were able to compare walking and biking accessibility. Cons The limits on the free accounts. Also it would be good to know more if Smappen offers free versions for non-profits.
