It's nice to not have a stack of dirty papers all over the shop anymore. We can view the Tech Job Board. Customers still seem to be confused about the prices shown on the estimate anyway therefore, I will continue to explain them.

Pros

I like how the approval messaging will send emails/texts rather than making me make calls. The repair orders and parts ordering features are both located within the same system and that has made a huge difference from where they were spread around the shop.

Cons

When they do push updates it sometimes messes with something mid-tuesday. I do not enjoy the accounting piece of the software because you have to personally verify if a customer qualifies for AR before sending the invoice to them which makes absolutely no sense since about every single customer pays. It takes too long to complete.

Overall, it’s been a positive experience. AutoLeap has helped streamline operations and made day-to-day management easier. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid system that does what it’s supposed to do and continues to improve over time

Pros

AutoLeap does a really good job of keeping everything in one place—estimates, invoices, and customer info are all easy to manage. The estimates look clean and professional, and the workflow from estimate to invoice is smooth. It helps cut down on paperwork and keeps the shop more organized overall.

Cons

There are occasional bugs and slowdowns, especially when things get busy. The mobile version could be better and doesn’t always have the same functionality as desktop. Customer support can also be a little inconsistent depending on the issue.

I was sucked in by how good the software looked, and the promise of all these excellent features - many of which were not even available when we opened our account despite them being demonstrated during the demo. We had to sit on wait lists for the features, then they did not work as promised. The most egregious part of all this is that Autoleap locks you into annual agreements with 60 day notice periods, so by the time you realize the software doesn't perform as promised you're locked in and cannot get out. And if you miss your 60 day notice period they will not help you out despite the fact their software doesn't work as promised, and you are no longer using it. As shop owners we shouldn't be signing term contracts with software providers that have no responsibility to function as promised, can change the feature set and functionality, or just not work over time with no recourse. If the software fails to function as promised - such as our case, you still have to pay out the contract. We should probably get a lawyer involved. Save yourself the headache and find other software. AutoLeap has great marketing, and the demos look great, but in practice the software just does not deliver. We are making much more now that we switched away from the software. The bump in profitability has definitely more than covered their monthly subscription that I'm still paying despite not using the software.

Pros

The integrated nature of the software, and unified customer communication, along with the feature list.

Cons

Features are 80% baked. They look good, but don't work in practice. Integrated parts ordering looks great, but it doesn't work well. Someone defers a job, you lose all your parts. If you have some parts authorized, but not all, you have to remove the unauthorized parts to complete the order, or you have to leave the software to order manually. It sounds great, it looks great, but honestly it just doesn't work. The implementation of the features is pretty terrible compared to competitors. The most basic reporting has too many variances - you can open 3 labour reports for the same period and all have different values for not only hours, but dollars billed. How are you supposed to run a business if you cannot trust the numbers in the system. I had to create manual process to work around this. They even acknowledged the issue and were sending me data in excel for me to use because the reports were not correct. Then suddenly they stopped sending the monthly reports - but the issue was never fixed. They implement a new inspection system, but they force you to use their DVI inspections, and they are awful. They Brake Inspection" had more inspection items then a "Comprehensive Inspection" and there is no way for us to amend it. You can quote something out, then it suddenly disappears, with line items disappearing from work orders. Most frustratingly, technicians were occasionally unable to complete inspections, and we had to open new work orders to do the same thing over again. Now you have to transfer all the line items of the work order, parts ordered, and the customer approval stays with the old work order. We were able to eliminate two advisors in our 7-bay shop by switching away from Autoleap through increased efficiencies with our new provider, and now the shop is running much more efficiently. Autoleap is trying to force you to run your shop to fit their software. I want software that operates around my shop. You cannot run your shop at a high level of efficiency with this software. Maybe 65-70% tech efficiency, and you must overstaff the advisors to make it work. Autoleap does not have any technician efficiency tools/ information available. There is no summary of the hours booked in the calendar by day, so you know how much work you have booked for each day. And the work around requires using the calendar by technician, but the length of the calendar appointments default to 1 hour. The advisor has to make it the right length for each appointment, not based on hours estimated, then we have to revise the appointment as work is authorized. I'm sure they will introduce new features to address these gaps in the software, I'm also 100% certain that the new features won't work properly. The people who have developed the software have never worked in a high performing shop. I think the people who like this software are the ones coming from legacy software in small shops, and don't realize that better software exists.

Switched from

[Shopmonkey](https://www.capterra.com/p/169022/Shopmonkey/)

We had an issue with shopmonkey software going down, and the feature set of Autoleap wooed us. We didn't realize the features in the demo weren't available when se started using the software, and that they don't work reliably.

Initial setup was a bit forceful. They charge you a set up fee even if you were under the annual contract and would refund it if you took their training courses that were group classes with other shops. First I’ve experienced this from any software. Also no ability to bulk import parts on our own made it a huge pain to upload our large library of products and maintain accuracy of it. It’s ok for a small shop that can get away with only their integrations. But if you need more, this isn’t the one.

Pros

The UI was decent and is ok for a small shop. Their profitability by service view was a nice feature.

Cons

Lack of scalability. System has no ability for API integration like others which limits how much you can scale with their system. They had zero interest in figuring out a solution and simply told us you’ll have to look elsewhere, while saying we are locked into an auto renewed contract.

Overall they were great at first, but I should have been suspect when they asked me to leave reviews before trying the program. This is a company that is a predator.

Pros

Don't trust a company that ask you to leave reviews before trying the program, don't trust a company that has you sign a 1 year contract before using a program. You wouldn't buy a car without test driving. Stay away from this predatory company.

Cons

I stopped using when the integration of parts ordering and paper work did not fit my needs, but that is not why I give Autoleap 1 star- I give them one star (would be negative stars if available) because I was lied to by the sales person. During the on boarding I was a little concerned about the 1 year contract obligation, and was advised "If we can't get thing working smooth for you we will cancel the contract." After working with Autoleap trying to get the program to work with my shop, which I tried working with them multiple times to get the kinks worked out. I advised them it wasn't working out for my needs. I was then advised that "sorry, we honor our contracts." There was no help, no "sorry we couldn't work out" nothing that was supportive. Basically Autoleap felt and acted like they are the end all be all of auto repair management systems.

Very Good, my onboarding team took the time to help me get comfortable and teach me the navigation and inner workings.

Pros

it's a complete system, no going back and forth between different systems. It's an all in one solution.

Cons

It took longer to set up and onboard than I was expecting. It took some time to learn the navigation of the software.

Horrible would be being nice. They have their own agenda and do NOT care if you loose money.

Pros

I like the workboard. It is customizable to some degree but could use a lot more. Scheduler is good but again could use more customizable options

Cons

Everything changes all of the time. Updates every month cause bugs or as they say is a fix for something else and creates a problem. I have lost an extreme amount of money to so called "glitches" in the system. Estimates and invoices are live so if you accidentally change something to a customer advantage while they are viewing it that can really cost a lot of money. I have had parts disappear from ROs and then they don't get paid for. It has so many glitches every day that I get sick of writing emails. I believe the hope you just eventually give up on asking them to fix things. It is usually months before a supposed solution gets resolved. I will be switching away as soon as my contract is up. They pressure you in the demo with a great deal to lock you into a contract.

Wanted cloud based so I could work on estimates remotely if needed.

I have used Autoleap for 3 months, decided at 2 months (high stress from advisors and techs) that is was not right for our shop. The techs are very limited in abilities. They cannot log or see their flag hours. The techs can not access the shop calendar. When I asked Autoleap about this, they gave me a scenario where you set the tech up as an advisor. It was very complicated for the tech to jump back and forth to have access to something simple. The Invoices created a lot of questions that we never had 'What is this \_\_\_\_ ' many items on the invoice cannot be changed. Things as simple as Fonts or Bold in the title. The customer service is lacking as well, I sent multiple emails with concerns and problems with most answers being - 'not possible' or 'our team is working on that'. The Contract is vague and will lock you in. Do you research, Autoleap is not the best software for shop management. There are so many better options out there. They are a money grab contact software and will put the carrot out in front of you. I would not recommend using Autoleap.

Pros

Unfortunately, not very much. Customer service is poor the software seems to be written by people who do not understand the automotive industry or shop flow.

Cons

Invoices look messy and are not customizable as promised. The techs cannot view their flagged hours or the work calendar.

Reasons for choosing AutoLeap

Was promised they were able to do things that we needed - techs tracking hours, stop using google calendar for the techs.
