“The most egregious part of all this is that Autoleap locks you into annual agreements with 60 day notice periods, so by the time you realize the software doesn't perform as promised you're locked in and cannot get out. And if you miss your 60 day notice period they will not help you out despite the fact their software doesn't work as promised, and you are no longer using it. As shop owners we shouldn't be signing term contracts with software providers that have no responsibility to function as promised, can change the feature set and functionality, or just not work over time with no recourse. If the software fails to function as promised - such as our case, you still have to pay out the contract. “

### "Auto Leap Reviews"

March 19, 2025

Auto Leap is an excellent and efficient tool in today's demanding auto industry, easy to use and implement.

Pros

Cons

### "Great platform! Lots of features to help efficiency in auto shop. "

April 8, 2025

5.0

AutoLeap has been incredible so far. The platform is user-friendly, the customer support is excellent, and the range of features available has truly exceeded our expectations. The highlight for us has been the thorough and well-structured implementation process. Working with \[sensitive content hidden\] has been a great experience—she ensured our team was fully prepared and confident to start using AutoLeap full time.

Pros

AutoLeap has been a game-changer for our shop. It streamlined communication with SMS marketing and reminders, improved customer retention, and made organizing schedules, estimates, and invoices effortless. The platform is user-friendly, and the implementation support—especially from \[sensitive content hidden\]—was excellent.

Cons

We had a hard time scheduling our zoom calls/meetings during business hours. When owners work in the business, it is hard to jump on a call while the business is open - so most of the time we had a lot of distractions. Would have loved it there was an after business hour team.

### "Great all-in-one shop system with a few hiccups still worth it"

April 29, 2026

5.0

Overall, it’s been a positive experience. AutoLeap has helped streamline operations and made day-to-day management easier. It’s not perfect, but it’s a solid system that does what it’s supposed to do and continues to improve over time

Pros

AutoLeap does a really good job of keeping everything in one place—estimates, invoices, and customer info are all easy to manage. The estimates look clean and professional, and the workflow from estimate to invoice is smooth. It helps cut down on paperwork and keeps the shop more organized overall.

Cons

There are occasional bugs and slowdowns, especially when things get busy. The mobile version could be better and doesn’t always have the same functionality as desktop. Customer support can also be a little inconsistent depending on the issue.

### "Look Good, but looks are only skin deep - Autoleap doesn't perform"

February 5, 2026

1.0

I was sucked in by how good the software looked, and the promise of all these excellent features - many of which were not even available when we opened our account despite them being demonstrated during the demo. We had to sit on wait lists for the features, then they did not work as promised. The most egregious part of all this is that Autoleap locks you into annual agreements with 60 day notice periods, so by the time you realize the software doesn't perform as promised you're locked in and cannot get out. We should probably get a lawyer involved. Save yourself the headache and find other software. AutoLeap has great marketing, and the demos look great, but in practice the software just does not deliver. We are making much more now that we switched away from the software. The bump in profitability has definitely more than covered their monthly subscription that I'm still paying despite not using the software.

Pros

The integrated nature of the software, and unified customer communication, along with the feature list.

Cons

Features are 80% baked. They look good, but don't work in practice. Integrated parts ordering looks great, but it doesn't work well. Someone defers a job, you lose all your parts. If you have some parts authorized, but not all, you have to remove the unauthorized parts to complete the order, or you have to leave the software to order manually. It sounds great, it looks great, but honestly it just doesn't work. The implementation of the features is pretty terrible compared to competitors. The most basic reporting has too many variances - you can open 3 labour reports for the same period and all have different values for not only hours, but dollars billed. How are you supposed to run a business if you cannot trust the numbers in the system. I had to create manual process to work around this. They even acknowledged the issue and were sending me data in excel for me to use because the reports were not correct. Then suddenly they stopped sending the monthly reports - but the issue was never fixed. They implement a new inspection system, but they force you to use their DVI inspections, and they are awful. They Brake Inspection" had more inspection items then a "Comprehensive Inspection" and there is no way for us to amend it. You can quote something out, then it suddenly disappears, with line items disappearing from work orders. Most frustratingly, technicians were occasionally unable to complete inspections, and we had to open new work orders to do the same thing over again. Now you have to transfer all the line items of the work order, parts ordered, and the customer approval stays with the old work order. We were able to eliminate two advisors in our 7-bay shop by switching away from Autoleap through increased efficiencies with our new provider, and now the shop is running much more efficiently. Autoleap is trying to force you to run your shop to fit their software. I want software that operates around my shop. You cannot run your shop at a high level of efficiency with this software. Maybe 65-70% tech efficiency, and you must overstaff the advisors to make it work. Autoleap does not have any technician efficiency tools/ information available. There is no summary of the hours booked in the calendar by day, so you know how much work you have booked for each day. And the work around requires using the calendar by technician, but the length of the calendar appointments default to 1 hour. The advisor has to make it the right length for each appointment, not based on hours estimated, then we have to revise the appointment as work is authorized. I'm sure they will introduce new features to address these gaps in the software, I'm also 100% certain that the new features won't work properly. The people who have developed the software have never worked in a high performing shop. I think the people who like this software are the ones coming from legacy software in small shops, and don't realize that better software exists.

### "ZERO star if possible"

May 7, 2025

1.0

Horrible would be being nice. They have their own agenda and do NOT care if you loose money.

Pros

I like the workboard. It is customizable to some degree but could use a lot more. Scheduler is good but again could use more customizable options

Cons

Everything changes all of the time. Updates every month cause bugs or as they say is a fix for something else and creates a problem. I have lost an extreme amount of money to so called "glitches" in the system. Estimates and invoices are live so if you accidentally change something to a customer advantage while they are viewing it that can really cost a lot of money. I have had parts disappear from ROs and then they don't get paid for. It has so many glitches every day that I get sick of writing emails. I believe the hope you just eventually give up on asking them to fix things. It is usually months before a supposed solution gets resolved. I will be switching away as soon as my contract is up. They pressure you in the demo with a great deal to lock you into a contract.

### "I would not recommend using Autoleap"

May 2, 2025

1.0

I have used Autoleap for 3 months, decided at 2 months (high stress from advisors and techs) that is was not right for our shop. The techs are very limited in abilities. They cannot log or see their flag hours. The techs can not access the shop calendar. When I asked Autoleap about this, they gave me a scenario where you set the tech up as an advisor. It was very complicated for the tech to jump back and forth to have access to something simple. The Invoices created a lot of questions that we never had 'What is this \_\_\_\_ ' many items on the invoice cannot be changed. Things as simple as Fonts or Bold in the title. The customer service is lacking as well, I sent multiple emails with concerns and problems with most answers being - 'not possible' or 'our team is working on that'. The Contract is vague and will lock you in. Do you research, Autoleap is not the best software for shop management. There are so many better options out there. They are a money grab contact software and will put the carrot out in front of you. I would not recommend using Autoleap.

Pros

Unfortunately, not very much. Customer service is poor the software seems to be written by people who do not understand the automotive industry or shop flow.

Cons

Invoices look messy and are not customizable as promised. The techs cannot view their flagged hours or the work calendar.

### "glitch riddled and contract happy. dont waste your money or time."

December 8, 2024

2.0

You pay a lot for a system that isn't any better than the others that are cheaper. Every time they would add an update to the software, they would have other issues after. At the time of writing this, I am still dealing with customer info being removed from tickets every time i enter back into a ticket. they apparently fixed this issue but it is still present. When i tried to leave, they told me my contract automatically renewed (without my approval or knowing) and they wont let me leave the contract even though i've made it very clear the system doesnt work for my shop. fyi, no other shop management system does this and autoleap is the most expensive system out there and yet is a good ways behind the other systems you can get.

Pros

Product has a lot of cool features (although most other softwares have the same features) the support team was quick to respond when there were issues (there have been plenty in just a year)

Cons

Software is full of glitches and errors. The web app often freezes and the inspections are problematic. Often inspections would come back incomplete and we would lose all data and details of the inspection. You cant record more than a few seconds of video for inspections so its totally pointless to have them on there. Pay attention to the contract you're signing. the contract states they can renew your contract every year without your approval and without giving you a heads up. It doesn't bode well for a company when they feel the need to hold you into a contract to get you to stay and pay them money. all the other software we have used were month to month because they believe they have to earn your business every month and if you need to leave to better your business then they are more than happy to let you leave. autoleap however does not operate that way and will not let you leave even if their software isnt working for your business. there are no 3rd party integrations with autoleap, so dont expect to be able to add any of the other awesome 3rd party systems that can make your business thrive. Autoleap wants you to rely on them and them alone.

Switched from

[Shopmonkey](https://www.capterra.com/p/169022/Shopmonkey/)

originally i switched for the online appointment scheduler autoleap has but afte switching i found that their scheduler doesnt sync with your actual calender or anything. its just a generic scheduler where you pick the available days and times and customer pick what day and time they want but you can very likely be booked up. it has made a lot of customers mad when they think theyre scheduling their appointment only to find out you're not available for over a week.

### "Loving it!"

December 1, 2024

5.0

Overall, im very happy with the program. Ive found it to speed up my inspection and repair times and provide for easier access to more accurate diagnostics.

Pros

Smooth usage between laptop, tablet and cellphone even for an app based program. Enjoy the direct access Prodemand and Mitchell and the ability to hilight notes and concern points for the service managers to be able to bring tk the customers attention while i continue on with the diagnosis, repair or inspection.

Cons

A bit laggy, we have found that at the shop at times it will highlight with an odd error for vehicle model year on the laptop side of the program, but on the phone or tablet itll work with no issues, you just have to transfer out. Another issue weve had is when trying to access mitchell, it will start to load a secondary page and subsequently crash both pages, forcing a restart of the inspection or repair timing.

Switched from

[Manager SE](https://www.capterra.com/p/145351/Manager-SE/)

Boss made the decision, but ultimately it had to do with the amount of down time and crashes their program had. At one point we lost a 6 month customer database that we could only recover with paper invoices, mitchell couldnt do anything to rectify the problem.
