R&D engineer Automotive Used the software for: 2+ years ### "Good die-casting simulation experience" June 10, 2021 5.0 Castle is an efficient tool to find the causes of porosity, temperature and velocity issues or other defect that may affect the quality of the parts, the moulds or process. Pros The working flow is very clear at each step, with the possibility to change the simulation parameters during the pre-analysis in order to test different process condition, and find the best setup. The visualization of the results offers the possibility to understand the behaviour of the material (and air at different percentage), with a lot of physical variable (not only classical physical value as temperature, velocity or pressure, but other information about oxidationy, filling time map, shrinkage, and other). The user can also customize new layer visualization simply using maths operators. With the complete filling of the mould this software calculates also the solidification stage. Castle is being continuously improved to introduce new functions and reduce working time. Pros For our company a fundamental function is the Mind, thanks to which we can check which process is best suited to the new product in the Feasibility phase. Castle is a very friendly use program and thanks to that we are able to use it daily . Castle become a starting point in any new and / or process changes. "Run" and" Body" help us during the design of new tools and in the improvement of the existing tools. Cons "when we bought Castle" we had some initial difficulties because our cold chamber process has some peculiarities not so common in general die-casting. We worked together with the assistance to develop and fit the software on our particular features. Avendo vagliati diversi software di competitor esistenti sul mercato, Castle offre tante prestazioni che abbracciano diverse esigenze aziendali tra le quali il costo di esercizio del programma. Abbiamo avuto la possibilità di confrontare i nostri risultati di simulazione con altri prodotti da software del settore più conosciuti ed i risultati collimano. in sintesi Castle massima resa a contenuta spesa. Pros L'innovazione continua degli aggiornamenti e la possibilità di visualizzare aria interna ed esterna del pezzo da modellare. Cons Come tutti i nuovi software non sempre risulta facile comprendere il feed back delle informazioni processate, ma dopo un po' di pratica e con l'ottimo supporto post-vendita anche le minime difficoltà incontrate si dissipano. The versatility of this software for the price you pay is unmatched. Pros One of the key features I found very useful was the opportunity to change the parameters during the analysis to test for different conditions in process which further helped to identify the best fit for my application. The cost when compared to other 3D CAD software was very competitive and a massive plus as a private user. Cons At this moment and time I have no negative to report. The software is really simple but in the mean time complete. When we chose it, we compare it to other more expensive software, and the result of the analysis is the same. We customize some part of the software (machine and parameters)to better adapt it to our process and the team was very collaborative. Assistance is always present and available.
