I've learned programming plc cpu units and connecting them with scada or HMI display units. Loading and uploading programs form plc, scada or hmi systems.

Pros

TIA portal has it's own libraries so you dont have to code everything from beginning. Help section is also very useful. You can simulate the program easily within software. You can use different programming langueges.

Cons

Hard to understand error reports and fixing them. Sometimes making connections between plc groups and computers is not easy and doesn't recognize connections. Doesn't support every siemens plc and other brands.

Pros

Large hardware manufacturing brand behind. If you choose this MOM software your company will never blame to you for the bad decision.

Cons

Complex, difererent metodologies in the same platform. Just a sand box.

Excellent benefits for plc repair

Pros

a very powerful software for programming and simulation, complete and easy at the time of programming, excellent in quality price.

Cons

Like all Siemens software, it has many functions that the user does not get to know completely, is a bit complex for new users and is very slow when starting new projects
