Pros The built-in Writeback functionality and tight integration with the Microsoft Power BI platform enabled us to deliver a full Planning/Budgeting/Forecasting solution to our Users in weeks instead of months. Cons There are a few quirks and gotchas with using the Writeback to the Cube. Even after we thought we'd figured out all the details, they seem to come back to haunt us periodically. I am still astonished by its affordability. Pros The use case (for us) was very QB specific, but we were not able to resolve this with any other tool without a bunch of custom modeling. Acterys offers an incredibly easy and affordable solution. Cons No endpoint for refreshing datasets (that I'm aware of); also, PKs seem to be regenerated with each refresh, which can be a pain. Alternatives considered [CData Sync](https://www.capterra.com/p/228591/CData-Sync/) Reasons for choosing Acterys We were not able to pull the GL as such from CData Sync. We were able to pull various other business objects, but it would've amounted to a lot of remodeling effort to get the GL view we wanted. In one place to both see a sales report and to plan future sales. It is possible to install the system both or to use as a SAAS solution. Hybrid solutions are also possible. Cons In our particular case, implementing the solution required serious customisation, including tons of SQL code. But the Acterys specialists handled it successfully. It's fast and reliable. The resource library (wiki Page) is content rich and updated regularly. The solution integrates beautifully with Power BI and Excel. The right back functionality is an absolute game changer. After engaging with this product, you get the feeling that there is a very competent team behind this product, one that has a great understanding not only how to build a great product, but how to scale it without compromising on performance. Well done to everyone involved. Incredible work. Pros Incredible performance backed by best in the business technology like MS Azure SQL Server. There is a great set of features built into this product. The ability to add additional cubes and right back functionality is fantastic. Its easy to implement and to built beautiful reports in a day. Complicated DAX measures...it all done for you. Very impressed. Cons There is really a lot of features and it can be overwhelming if you do not know where to start. Once you learn to navigate the wiki page, it really does get a lot less overwhelming. Pros It took us literally only one day to implement an integrated financial planning model (PL, BS, CF) based on our existing Power BI reports. Fully parameterized simulation, budgeting, and rolling forecast. We could easily leverage from exisiting demo templates Acterys is packaged with. We could easily enhance our initial planning model to any further xP&A planning requirements by adding and connecting additional planning cubes. Cons Acterys provides really an overwhelming set of features, which could be challenging for beginners. But there's a great support team and the help file/Wiki with best practice samples and templates finally helping in any such situation. Never to much of a hassle to resolve my demanding issues and questions. Pros Writeback functionality from Power Bi is amazing. We have one source of the truth and no more excel workbooks with links all over the place. No version difference. Easy to integrate and use once over the learning curve. Cons My only negative, and i understand now that its a feature of the product. Its not intended to be a replacement of an ERP system or database, so is limited once the cube becomes too large.
