Pros The best feature about BIM 360 is how all the designers contractors and architects are all bought on 1 platform and work together virtually to build a building from nothing. Easy to understand, quick updates and picks up any Clashes that have been detected. Cons The software is slightly complicated and does require some practice for use. Our CM company did not allow us (GC) access to edit and create on the task and issues folder, restricting us from BIM 360 fields full benefits. Pros It easy to navigate and upload attachments. Cons The software is very slow when many people are using it. It would take me a very long time to upload/ schedule IRs when there was a rush hour of users. Thinking that I could see all projects, and then having to request access to some. We have only used the 'issues' function for SOR's and Punch List. I would have liked to customize the interface more to allow for better usage of the software. I also like the fact you can do rfi's directly on the ipad with photos and red lines and it goes directly to the consultant for review and any changes are updated directly on the prints Cons Having to use the computer to print out forms. Some of the features were/are hard to figure out. We completed the project in a year with almost 40 people working together. Imagine!! Pros It's so so good and it allows completing a 3D model that requires multiple users to work simultaneously. Cons I think the older generation might find it tough to learn all commands and get used to the interface. BIM360 also benefits my trades design as it is more accurate and can prevent any huge errors from occurring in the field (where it is more expensive and time consuming to fix) Pros I love how the software "glues" files in real time and I can see updates almost immediately. Multiple trades can use this software and it helps resolve issues. The markups are a great feature that will remain active until resolved. Cons Although it is relatively easy to maneuver and create markups, it's sometimes very time consuming trying to figure out which file contains the elements I have selected. Make models to work with in the office that can be opened on and IPAD in field with no publishing. Cons Using desktop Navis to access Bim 360 models gives us the power and speed we require. The syncing and "gluing" times and lags are a disappointment. Example: can't refresh models while a model is "gluing". Our primary use of the tool at first was mobile access of the model with limited clash detection use. There have been many updates since 2014 and our primary use currently is with ASMEP,LS, and ID coordination. We now have a BIM 360 Glue & Coordination Protocol including our clash sets template. We look forward to the next enhancements along with the many additional tools added to the BIM 360 tools. Pros BIM 360 Glue is easily integrated and managed versus primary desktop applications. Cons Lacking easy user account transfer so as not to lose related communications.
