I first tried it with a couple of trial accounts. And I finally switched to the paid plan from last May. So far, my experience has been awesome. Let me break it down. 1. If you are uncertain what changes are needed to improve your On-page SEO, hands down, Surfer is one of the best, if not the best tools on the market now. It will suggest you how many words for headings, bold, paragraphs and so on by analyzing the top 50 pages from the SERP for your targeted keyword. 2. It will also help you to optimize your content, suggesting a range of word counts for the most important words related to your article using the NLP. There are few more features which is really stands out than the most competitors, but for me the above two is what most important. Pros I can't imagine how I would manage without Surfer SERP Analysis (I signed up mid-2019). With just a few minutes of use, you'll be able to pinpoint the most effective density for your target phrase, as well as how it compares to other articles on Google search results. Using it saves me a lot of time when I try to improve the ranking of an existing post or create new content. In addition, I like the SEO Audit report, which analyzes your content and helps you identify areas for improvement. In order to increase your ranking in search engine results, Surfer will help you improve content optimization, avoid keyword stuffing, or other factors that result in poor user experience. Last but not least, as a senior designer, the interface is intuitive and easy to use, and in my opinion, it's better than anything else on the market! Both of these have helped me improve my on-page SEO. The content editor allows me to see how well my page is optimized, and helps me improve it. The page audit feature compares my page against the top ranking pages for the keywords I'm targeting, and tells me exactly what I need to do to match or beat their rankings. Pros This is actually my second time using the software. The first time I tried SurferSEO, I liked it but I thought that it was too expensive. I ended up trying out a different SEO software for about a month. However, I quickly realized that the other software didn't provide nearly as much value as SurferSEO. I decided to come back and give it another try. I'm glad I did! SurferSEO has helped me improve my on-page SEO significantly. Pros Content Optimizer is the best thing about Surfer. SEO has become very competitive these last few years, and you just can't go without KW density optimized content anymore if you want to be comparative. Most tools that I used before optimize content after it is written. That prolongs the writing/posting time, and it's hard for VA's to learn and do it properly. This tool does it in real-time. The keywords are right there on the right side and are interactive, giving the writer guides on what he should include in the content from the start. Cons I use mostly Firefox browser because it has better developer tools than Crome. I've seen a clear difference in traffic which makes me want to continue with Surfer. Pros I use Surfer for SEO only and it's pretty good. I like how you can choose a range of similar articles on the internet and Surfer puts them all together and comes up with the SEO steps you need to take to get your own article to rank. The color coding on the keywords makes it easy to use and you can compare how your articles are performing against a range of other ones so you can easily stay on top. Cons Sometimes it will tell you the article needs to be around 4000 words, which is more than 4 times what my average is. You can't use the AI writing feature if you've written less than half of the suggested length. Also, if you want to input one of the keywords as a header, it doesn't capitalize the first letter of each word (which might be a minor inconvenience but could be an easy fix for them). I began with Jarvis.ai for generating copy (and giving me ideas) and then purchased Surfer for its integration with Jarvis — which is terrific. I love how Surfer shows me the best keywords to be using ranked in a Pareto order. I love the gauge that ranks my progress from 0 to 100. Everything is straightforward to understand. Thanks Surfer. Cons 'm still not quite in tune with how to develop the appropriate Focus Keyword or Keyphrase to get started with the Content Editor. I still find myself snooping around in a Google Search to find a good one. I'm not upset because I know that my understanding will grow with the use of the product. June 9, 2021 4.0 With Surfer, we're able to identify and easily communicate how to improve the SEO of web pages and blog posts to writers and clients. It's easy enough to use and integrate while being worth the price. Pros First off, Surfer's Chrome extension made it super easy for us to implement into Google Docs! It's keyword tracker is great for writers and clients who need an easy glance at their progress without being overwhelmed by data. However, for those of us on the marketing side, it took a second for us to identify which data was actually useful through the clutter. It's easy to customize based on relevant keywords and top-ranking posts, so when we're writing blogposts, we can remove short ad-based blogs or listicles (like Yelp pages) to improve relevancy. Cons First off, there's no description of keyword difficulty, which reduces the clarity around which keywords are most impactful for the score. In addition, keywords aren't logged when they're included in a hyperlink. ( 1 ) Comprehensive Outlines with Keywords - I used tools that are specific for keyword research and compared the results with the content planner in SurferSEO. It pretty much showed all the valuable keywords, questions, headings across its various sections. So it saves time, makes it easy, and is great to start even if you didn't do much keyword research. ( 2 ) Contextual Output - When I wanted to write something specific about a topic, "what-why-how-when" Content Editor gave me by far the best results. Other tools were writing generic information about the topic that was not relevant to what I was seeking in a heading. But pretty much every output from SurferSEO was on point. ( 3 ) Ideas and Perspectives - As I keep writing in SurferSEO, I often discover so many new ideas and content on a topic. Many times, I could turn an entire section/heading into a completely new article too.
