Pros After learning SEO you will realize Surfer saves you a ton of work but letting you quickly see the metrics and is a huge time saver. Simply put it takes out all of the guess work. Cons The only con is Surfer lacks dashboards to allow you to see overall numbers and content but it's not a big deal. You can easily work around this and keep track of your work and long term efforts. Cons I think they can try to implement some sort of keyword difficulty that uses CPC, backlinks, content score, volume to determine the competition level of a kw. Customer support is prompt and always helpful. Pros I have been using Surfer SEO daily for quite a few months now. It's become an invaluable resource in my writer's toolkit. Two excellent features are the content planning functions (for content clusters creation) and the content editor. I highly recommend it for anyone who is serious about SEO. The Content Editor, Audit, Planner SERP analyzer are an amazing suite of tools for any person working in SEO, content marketing and even social media. I was able to see HUGE increases in rankings, impressions and clicks from the Google SERPS within 60 days of using the platform. Pros The software is easy to use and navigate, even for beginners. Before SurferSEO, we were struggling with writing quality articles that can be informative & helpful as well as SEO optimized. Now we rank in top 10 for most of the keywords that we planned. SurferSEO was the best choice for us and helped us increase the traffic by more than 50% since we started using it. Cons In the past, there wasn't the option to buy extra credits to buy more articles - and the memberships were kinda costly for us. I used Surfer's suggestions to optimize several pages and saw rank increase for them all. Cons The UI can add some more features that are available in similar tools. Some of these features are coming to Surfer in beta. I consider these tools as bonus addons to the main mission of optimizing content and not the primary goal of the product. Cons It's still AI, which sometimes can sacrifice a bit of readability in the name of keyword utilization, but it still provides insightful tips on how to best optimize the article. Surfer helps close the gap in detailed SEO and on-page analytics that most big publishers have. Pros Surfer makes it incredibly easy to figure out what you need to write to be amongst the top SERP results for a keyword. It breaks down the words you should use, approx. number of times to use words, and the total word count you should aim for. It also helps assess the headlines, images, and other aspects of SEO you'll need to focus on. Cons NLP credits should be made available for lower tier plans (Hobby & Basic). We live in a world of information overload where our attention spans are constantly being pushed to their limits due to new stimuli bombarding us on every channel. Because of this, we’ve had to change the way we market—spending less time reading through long-copy ads and more time scanning for information quickly before scrolling right past it altogether. With Surfer, users find themselves able to spend less time crafting content strategy and instead spending more time improving content quality. Cons Occasionally the Content Editor page reloads, and you have to scroll down again. The tool also requires a little time to process some reports - although this may not always be intentional. Pros Not only the software is very useful when working on content marketing initiatives but it can do it in french as well! As I am in Canada, I often get requests for french clients, not a lot of tools are able to work both in french and english. Cons The limited amount of queries I can pass in the tool per month at first, but this is manageable with good time management.
