The seamless integration with our ERP, HR, and CRM systems have made the onboarding process very intuiative with the support of a world-class Customer Service team. We are daily Mosaic users and would not be able to scale our business as efficiently without the power of Mosaic. It will be great for comparing budgets to actuals, distributing some simple financial reporting, and simple data interfacing across systems. The limits related to formulated fields in custom metrics make it less efficient for report building. Pros The canvases have a great interface and the ability to change the date range for all reports on a canvas is very convenient. Having a way to distribute financial data where the user can interact with it in a controlled way saves extra seats in financial software and a lot of training on reporting practices. Cons The customization in building metrics and reports is limited by the code free structure. Not all simple functions are able to translate the formula builder's syntax and there is some functionality from spreadsheet reporting that isn't replicated. Review Source AL Ashley L. Pros I have been around Mosaic for a short time snd found it to be a decent software with a good value for money, ease of use and a fairly simple learning curve. This makes accounting, project tracking, and financial reporting a cinch. Cons I'm not sure I have any cons for the software. It is well made in my opinion and I would promote it to anyone. With this, we can automate our retention/churn rates and other important metrics we had to calculate manually before. It's helped us deepen our insights into company performance + reduce workload on manual tasks so we have more time to focus on strategy. It's very easy to use and set up, I like that it has the ability to apply global filters to a dashboard -- this simplifies both live updates and our monthly/quarterly updates to SLT. It's become something I use as part of my everyday work. We integrate with our CRM + Finance tools and they also have the ability to integrate with data warehouses so you can build data models outside of the software. Their Metric Builder feature is really helpful and allows deeper customization + automation of daily reports. Their support staff are quick to respond and are able to resolve most requests. Cons What do you dislike about Mosaic Tech? In a recent update, the product became slower to load - however I'm sure they're working on a fix. Cons More customized charts / tables would be a nice to have within Mosaic. May 3, 2023 5.0 Mosaic has been a great tool for a company our size. We use it monthly during close and to assist our strategic planning. We are constantly reevaluating our forecast and creating multiple scenarios, and Mosaic helps us keep everything straight. Forecasting for any statement-- PL, BS, CF is very intuitive with Mosaic. Pros Support is always quick to respond and trouble shoot no matter what the problem is. This is key for us, especially during close where timelines are tight. Mosaic also has a headcount guided update feature, which has been essential for our close process. Headcount recon can be a major pain, but Mosaic's guided update makes it simple and efficient. Cons Sometimes our Netsuite integration fails, but usually I just have to retry it and everything flows through. And when it doesn't, Mosaic support is always quick to get things back up and running. Additionally, Mosaic has significantly elevated our company's financial visibility. It's a tool I can't imagine working without now. Pros It's super user-friendly, like a breeze to train new folks. I'm loving how simple it is to create metrics and shoot the breeze with everyone in the company. Makes talking to the executives and department heads way smoother. Hoping down the line we can even export the canvas as a PDF – that'd be awesome! Cons Because all the data processing happens in the backend, we're required to reach out to support whenever a new field needs adding (or when there's a data error). Mosaic was built with the end-user in mind and makes it easy to roll forward forecasts each month and communicate important business insights through data visualization. Cons Right now, we are unable to add custom metrics for our business into the software. Tracking KPIs that are relevant to our business specifically would be very impactful. The product is intuitive and easy to use. Pros Easy to set up and deploy. If you commit the appropriate resources to set up, it takes 1-2 weeks to get up and running. Customer Service has been fantastic. My CSM is super responsive and very helpful; it's almost like having a dedicated financial analyst at a fraction of the cost. Beautiful interface where the reports look very aesthetically pleasing, which is helpful for Board presentations. Cons You can't change if the numbers are displayed in thousands or millions, which can get confusing sometimes. You can't customize metrics but they're working on that capability. Their support team (especially Eli) were really helpful in the implementation and reducing the learning curve. Cons It was a little complicated to understand and the learning curve can take time. Pros Our monthly planning cycle has been completely changed by the automated data integration and real-time variation analysis. Prior to Bob Finance, it was necessary to manually combine several Excel files each month in order to update cash flow and headcount forecasts. We can create dynamic "what-if" scenarios and budget estimates in hours instead of days because to Bob Finance's direct connection to our accounting software and HR data. Clean financial summaries may be easily shared across departments without granting everyone full system access thanks to the customisable reporting dashboards. Cons Initial setup and mapping taking a bit of upfront effort. Getting custom line items aligned with our existing chart of accounts required help from their support team during the onboarding phase. Additionally, while standard integrations work seamlessly, connecting to certain secondary data sources or multi-currency databases takes additional configuration. That said, customer support was quick to assist us when we ran into questions." Once the models and canvases are set up, it is easy to refresh each month in order to quickly produce the reports that we need. Pros Mosaic has a very simple interface that is easy to understand. There are multiple systems integrations that seamlessly pull in data. Once you learn how to use the platform, navigation is intuitive . I am a primary user and use Mosaic on a weekly basis. Their support is very responsive and for quick questions, the chatbot is actually useful. Cons Mosaic is constantly improving on their product. I have used their software for several years and there have been some big improvements. A few things I dislike about the software are: 1. Have to unpublish models before editing them, making it difficult to edit a model and look at the canvas at the same time. 2. Unable to edit data coming in from data sources. I understand that it is important to keep consistency but there are instances where I want to change what department an employee is in for modeling purposes that is different than the department the employee is in in our HRIS system. Prior to this, we did everything manually and it was very inefficient. Now with Mosaic, we can easily see a project and the status along with all the documentation that goes with it. Everything is so organized and easy to find. This was a huge help to our business. Pros I like the organization of the documents and project management. I can easily see a projects status and understand where we are at without asking anyone. The modelling functionality is very useful and the support that we received from the implementation team to help us build out our dynamic models was very helpful. Cons Mosaic is continuing to add new functionality and capabilities, but there is currently a limited ability to customize the charts/tables within the tool. The team is very receptive to feedback and different needs and I would expect that there will continue to be improvements in this area.
