It will be great for comparing budgets to actuals, distributing some simple financial reporting, and simple data interfacing across systems. The limits related to formulated fields in custom metrics make it less efficient for report building. Pros The canvases have a great interface and the ability to change the date range for all reports on a canvas is very convenient. Having a way to distribute financial data where the user can interact with it in a controlled way saves extra seats in financial software and a lot of training on reporting practices. Cons The customization in building metrics and reports is limited by the code free structure. Pros I have been around Mosaic for a short time snd found it to be a decent software with a good value for money, ease of use and a fairly simple learning curve. This makes accounting, project tracking, and financial reporting a cinch. Cons I'm not sure I have any cons for the software. It is well made in my opinion and I would promote it to anyone. Once the models and canvases are set up, it is easy to refresh each month in order to quickly produce the reports that we need. Pros Mosaic has a very simple interface that is easy to understand. There are multiple systems integrations that seamlessly pull in data. Once you learn how to use the platform, navigation is intuitive . I am a primary user and use Mosaic on a weekly basis. Their support is very responsive and for quick questions, the chatbot is actually useful. Cons Mosaic is constantly improving on their product. I have used their software for several years and there have been some big improvements. A few things I dislike about the software are: 1. Have to unpublish models before editing them, making it difficult to edit a model and look at the canvas at the same time. 2. Unable to edit data coming in from data sources. I understand that it is important to keep consistency but there are instances where I want to change what department an employee is in for modeling purposes that is different than the department the employee is in in our HRIS system. Additionally, the customer service and experience that Mosaic provides are second to none. The support team is incredibly responsive and helpful, providing prompt assistance whenever we have questions or concerns. Overall, my experience with Mosaic was a pleasure, and the customer service and experience that they offer are truly amazing. Pros Mosaic continues to impress me every single day! It offers me a financial source of truth, making it easy for me to manage my financial data effectively.Another thing I love about Mosaic is that it's super user-friendly. We are constantly reevaluating our forecast and creating multiple scenarios, and Mosaic helps us keep everything straight. Forecasting for any statement-- PL, BS, CF is very intuitive with Mosaic. Pros Support is always quick to respond and trouble shoot no matter what the problem is. This is key for us, especially during close where timelines are tight. Mosaic also has a headcount guided update feature, which has been essential for our close process. Headcount recon can be a major pain, but Mosaic's guided update makes it simple and efficient. Cons Sometimes our Netsuite integration fails, but usually I just have to retry it and everything flows through. And when it doesn't, Mosaic support is always quick to get things back up and running. Cons Most of its features are still not 100% where they should be, normally our reports/models tend to miss some kind of feature that would make it complete, such as reporting formats or the lack of depth in the modelling session, which makes modelling very superficial. It has so many out-of-the-box KPIs. Once implemented, it has saved our finance function hours each week. We are no longer doing non-add-value tasks but more strategic analysis. Cons It will require an investment of time on your behalf to get familiar with how the system works; however, this also demonstrates the depth of the product. Their support team (especially Eli) were really helpful in the implementation and reducing the learning curve. Cons It was a little complicated to understand and the learning curve can take time. I can easily see a projects status and understand where we are at without asking anyone. Building visuals is extremely simple and straightforward and can be easily shared to internal stakeholders. FP&A tasks that historically took multiple days can now be done in a fraction of the time, leaving more time to analyze results and derive key business insights. Implementation and support teams are extremely helpful in go-live and ongoing support. Cons Some integrations can be limited based on internal structure, but there are workarounds.
