With numerous data points needed to report on business performance having all details readily available in one place allows for timely and accurate reporting that formerly took days to manually consolidate and manually update in multiple spreadsheets. Mosaic also enables easier 3 statement scenario and long term planning that can be extremely manual and error prone when done via spreadsheets. Pros Mosaic allows you to simplify and even automate numerous monthly tasks including ARR reporting, headcount planning, SaaS metric reporting & benchmarking. Building visuals is extremely simple and straightforward and can be easily shared to internal stakeholders. FP&A tasks that historically took multiple days can now be done in a fraction of the time, leaving more time to analyze results and derive key business insights. Implementation and support teams are extremely helpful in go-live and ongoing support. Cons Some integrations can be limited based on internal structure, but there are workarounds. It will be great for comparing budgets to actuals, distributing some simple financial reporting, and simple data interfacing across systems. The limits related to formulated fields in custom metrics make it less efficient for report building. Pros The canvases have a great interface and the ability to change the date range for all reports on a canvas is very convenient. Having a way to distribute financial data where the user can interact with it in a controlled way saves extra seats in financial software and a lot of training on reporting practices. Cons The customization in building metrics and reports is limited by the code free structure. Not all simple functions are able to translate the formula builder's syntax and there is some functionality from spreadsheet reporting that isn't replicated. Once the models and canvases are set up, it is easy to refresh each month in order to quickly produce the reports that we need. Pros Mosaic has a very simple interface that is easy to understand. There are multiple systems integrations that seamlessly pull in data. Once you learn how to use the platform, navigation is intuitive . I am a primary user and use Mosaic on a weekly basis. Their support is very responsive and for quick questions, the chatbot is actually useful. Cons Mosaic is constantly improving on their product. I have used their software for several years and there have been some big improvements. A few things I dislike about the software are: 1. Have to unpublish models before editing them, making it difficult to edit a model and look at the canvas at the same time. 2. Unable to edit data coming in from data sources. I understand that it is important to keep consistency but there are instances where I want to change what department an employee is in for modeling purposes that is different than the department the employee is in in our HRIS system. Director of Finance Information Technology and Services Used the software for: 6-12 months ### "Highly Recommend Mosaic" April 25, 2024 5.0 Mosaic solves a few core problems that benefit our organization: (1) the integrate multiple, disparate data sources and allow that data to be harnessed in ways not possible without Mosaic; (2) the platform comes with many out-of-the-box dashboards/views that immediately replace less scalable dashboards that we were previously maintaining, saving us time and money; (3) most importantly, Mosaic has allowed us to have much more visibility into our operations, financial health, and areas for strategic improvement. Pros Mosaic's ability to easily integrate multiple, disparate data sources has saved us meaningful amounts of time with month end close, KPI tracking, and actually making the most of our data for forward-looking strategic decision making. Additionally, implementation was a breeze; their customer success team worked closely with us to ensure that we were able to get the most value from the platform as soon as possible. Cons The learning curve for those who are used to working out of Excel or Google Sheets is somewhat steep, as it's an entirely new system to become familiar with. This is the first software I've seen with a step by step HC reconciliation process each month. It recognizes any headcount changes and gives you a number of options to take based on those changes. This really makes sure our HC forecast is accurate and current at all times. Pros Mosaic is constantly innovating. The tool is intuitive to use on it's own, but they consistently add/test new feature updates that make our lives easier. The support is top-notch. I can always get ahold of someone day-of to help me fix any issues I come across. Cons Not quite as flexible as other Enterprise options like Anaplan. Additionally, Mosaic has significantly elevated our company's financial visibility. It's a tool I can't imagine working without now. Pros It's super user-friendly, like a breeze to train new folks. I'm loving how simple it is to create metrics and shoot the breeze with everyone in the company. Makes talking to the executives and department heads way smoother. Hoping down the line we can even export the canvas as a PDF – that'd be awesome! Cons Because all the data processing happens in the backend, we're required to reach out to support whenever a new field needs adding (or when there's a data error). It has so many out-of-the-box KPIs. Once implemented, it has saved our finance function hours each week. We are no longer doing non-add-value tasks but more strategic analysis. Cons It will require an investment of time on your behalf to get familiar with how the system works; however, this also demonstrates the depth of the product. Their support team (especially Eli) were really helpful in the implementation and reducing the learning curve. Cons It was a little complicated to understand and the learning curve can take time. I can easily see a projects status and understand where we are at without asking anyone. The modelling functionality is very useful and the support that we received from the implementation team to help us build out our dynamic models was very helpful. Cons Mosaic is continuing to add new functionality and capabilities, but there is currently a limited ability to customize the charts/tables within the tool. The team is very receptive to feedback and different needs and I would expect that there will continue to be improvements in this area.
