August 9, 2025 4.0 We used Yoast with our wordpress site for more than a year. Its always been one of the top options for SEO wordpress plugins and we had tried lower tier options beforehand. Ultimately we found it a very solid option that was edged out by competitors offering more value for money and features at a similar price point Pros The UI is straightforward, its quite a light app and doesn't slow down my wordpress backend like some other seo plugins have. Cons The depth of the features was not as extensive compared to alternatives and also the pricing was not as competitive. Alternatives considered [Rank Math](https://www.capterra.com/p/242098/Rank-Math/) Reason for choosing Yoast SEO decent reviews and long history of being recognised as one of the best wordpress seo plugins. AIOSEO was our other main consideration. Review Source KS Kyshira S. Pros They diont have so many features compared to their competetor but they have the quality, every feature they have is just too good, it fulfills all the need of SEO, with Yoast i cancelled some of external tools sub becuase it fulfilled my needs. Cons Pricing, i only use yoast on business sites, cause its too pricy for personal blogs. Switched from [Rank Math](https://www.capterra.com/p/242098/Rank-Math/) The main reason is content seo, yoast is somehow better at analysing what's better in page. Review Source Torikul I. It made my project much easier and effective. I was successfully able to make happy my clients with the work by using Yoast SEO plugin. Features are great, easy to use, suggests optimizing google ranking factors and that's enough for me. Pros This plugin is almost an all-rounder that can do everything. There are so many amazing features I noticed in this plugin which is very helpful for a website, even it's a very easy to use. For example, website submission is very easy on Google Search Console or in other webmaster tools like Bing / Yandex. Just a few clicks are able to do that process without pasting the tracking file to the public\_html. This plugin shows the page or posts SEO score after adding meta tag, descriptions, keywords, alternative texts on images etc. It also suggests the improvement that the page needs to rank better on search engines. I can edit the htaccess file by using this plugin without going to the cPanel. Another awesome thing is, sitemap creation is super easy with this plugin. Have worked with Yoast SEO so many times to rank webpages on google, I really like this plugin. Cons Yoast SEO not will allow you to check the daily or monthly visitors that the website getting. As well as there is a problem with its indexability system. I saw that some websites get SEO errors detected by the Yoast plugin. But there is no easy direction or solution, they suggest Ryte which is really confusing. I don't feel comfortable working with Ryte. Yoast plugin should remove this matter completely. There is a website indexing problem on Google. It takes a long time to Index a website page that is On-Page-SEO optimized through the Yoast SEO plugin. Switched from [PRO Sitemaps](https://www.capterra.com/p/179606/XML-Sitemaps/) I found some problems with Yoast SEO sitemap features, that's why I switched it to PRO sitemaps Review Source Prabhakar U. Pros What I like the most about Yoast is that Yoast is very easy to use as compared to other WordPress plugins. Cons It has less features than other SEO plugins. More features should be added as well. Alternatives considered [Rank Math](https://www.capterra.com/p/242098/Rank-Math/) Reason for choosing Yoast SEO Yoast is much lighter than RankMath and RankMath has some useless features as well. Pros It helps me to optimize keywords and give suggestions for optimizing the content on a page based on a target keyword. It analyzes the content on a page and provides suggestions for making it more readable and engaging for users. It generates a sitemap automatically. You can also verify your search console, bing, by adding code on the Yoast plugin.Yoast SEO includes tools for optimizing content for social media sharing.I can optimize or customize my URL structure. And also index or deindex things easily. It provides insights into the overall quality of a page's content, making it easier to identify areas for improvement. This is the main feature. Cons I noted that its suggestions and analysis can be overly prescriptive and that there are limited options for customizing the plugin to fit their specific needs. You can't use it with some other plugins like schema generator. It offers a free version which is limited but good for beginners, but its paid version is expensive in comparison to other SEO plugins. Yoast was for my company a great option for getting clients to look into their organic website traffic. Pros When I used yoast, it was about the only recommended SEO plugin on the market. It did the job but it was very limited on the free version and was constantly prompting you to get the paid version. I have to say that it did its job and helped with some of the SEO needed to get a site in better shape than having no tools at all. Cons The biggest negative was how "heavy" it was considering it was not the full version of the plugin. It also left out some really vital components of basic SEO, which was justified by the fact that we were using the free version. Reason for choosing Yoast SEO I chose Yoast at the time because it was the best SEO plugin for the needs of my clients and in spite of their free version not being as robust as some of the newer plugins, it gave a great deal of value.
