This had helped me many times in the past and continue to make my life easier when I am working on any large scale project. Pros I can't overstate the fact that this is one of the best services for devs using Github. Sure, for any critical work I would trust my offline IDE but if I have to make some changes on the fly this is an amazing service. Cons The service can sometimes be un-intuitive as we still need to do all the mods we do to an offline IDE and it will be nice to get a certain group of mods already applied or auto-recognised but nonetheless, it's still a banger. I was able to work from the first minute since they gave me my account set up and I didn't have to download anything or make any configurations on my machine. Pros If you have already worked with VS Code, Gitpod will be very familiar to you. It has all the power of VS Code from your browser, connects seamlessly to your repository and you can test your code with its CI system. A nice feature is being able to do code reviews directly from the IDE. Cons I have nothing to say against it, it does its job and helps you work and save time. If what you want is a professional IDE in your browser and have a CI in the same place, it's great. I did experienced an odd slowdown on launching my workspaces once. Pros Containers on demand right out of your git repo, I am sold. Visual Studio Code IDE right in your browser makes it a full package and add clean integration to GitHub and you will never look back.
