### "Bonus that comes with Office 365"

December 5, 2023

4.0

Considering the basic version is included with a Office 365 subscription it has been an unexpected bonus. It has given our company a chance to experiment with a cloud based directory without having to fully abandon the setup that has work for years and most employees are familiar with.

Pros

Previous to signing up for Office 365 we used a on-premise active directory, using the tools provide it was easy to transfer our directory information over to the Azure Active Directory and have them work together in a hybrid mode. We have been able to slowly decrease the amount of on-premise servers had transition to cloud only at a pace we control due to this.

Cons

If you are using hybrid mode it can be a bit of a pain to set two way communication between Azure back to On-premise.

### "Inexpensive, Many Integrations"

May 12, 2022

5.0

Pros

Cost was affordable and it provided an easy way to migrate from on prem domain controller to Azure AD. It also integrated with a number of the other SAAS applications we used making setting up integrated authentication easy.

Cons

When you move a computer from Joined to a local AD over to Azure AD you lose some of the management options (GPO).

Reason for choosing Microsoft Entra ID

When we put the feature matrix together Azure AD had more features than the rest. Also a number of SAAS applications have or were building out integrations due to the number of companies using Azure AD.

### "Cloud Identity Management"

July 1, 2025

5.0

Pros

Azure AD integrates with most external software that we have procured, and it is very easy to implement Single Sign-On.

Cons

The Admin UI isn't that intuitive and the licensing structure is complex. The 40-minute sync between systems can sometimes cause delays and issues.

### "Microsoft Entra ID Review"

November 14, 2025

5.0

I have had a good experience with Microsoft Entra ID from managing user accounts and email addresses in one place.

Pros

I like that it provides user access control and account security. It provides a easy to use platform to manage user data.

Cons

I do not dislike anything about it at this time. I find it to be a convenient platform to manager user data that is secure.

### "The All-In-One Corporate Identity Manager - Azure AD"

February 10, 2023

5.0

In conclusion, overall, I highly recommend Azure Active Directory for any company looking to streamline their identity and access management processes and enhance the security of their IT systems. While there may be some challenges associated with setting up and configuring the software, the benefits are well worth the investment.

Pros

As an administrator of Azure Active Directory in my company, I have found it to be a valuable asset to our overall IT infrastructure. The software offers a range of features that have made our identity and access management processes more efficient and secure. One of the key benefits of using Azure Active Directory is its integration with other Microsoft services, such as Office 365 and Microsoft Teams. This allows for a seamless and secure way for employees to access their work resources, reducing the risk of unauthorized access and simplifying the user experience. Another pro is the robust security features provided by Azure Active Directory, such as multi-factor authentication and conditional access policies. These features have helped us to enhance the security of our IT systems and protect sensitive information from potential threats.

Cons

However, there are also a few cons to consider. One issue I have faced is the learning curve associated with setting up and configuring the software, especially for those who are not familiar with Microsoft's IT infrastructure. Additionally, some users have reported challenges with integrating Azure Active Directory with non-Microsoft systems.

### "AAD for the Win!"

October 17, 2022

5.0

We have noticed a marked skills gap in receiving qualified support engineers. However, in a critical situation, we have found the support chain to be fast moving and very knowledgeable in ways that get the business back to functional in times of urgent need.

Pros

Ease of deployment and support from Microsoft is key to a successful deployment in AAD. Making sure you have reached out to AAD Support prior to deploying can make getting to Best Practices much easier in the long run.

Cons

There can be a 40,000 league difference from getting a good support engineer and receiving sub par support that takes longer than necessary

### "An absolute requirement for any M365 tenant"

May 6, 2022

5.0

We had Office 365 licecnes but were not using them due to being a Lotus Notes environment. Moving off this to Outlook/teams/sharepoint meant having a away to configure users to be able to access these easily. It meant group based sercurity and access, it meant SSO and MFA. All configured easily through AAD.

Pros

Being able to sync form my on premise AD means i can configure and provision users in one place and have their details available for M365 applications and powerfull tools such as password self service, MFA and SSO.

Cons

There are still some limitations that mane i cannot just have a fully cloud based AD platform. I still need locak AD on a server onnected with Azure AD. Hopefully soon it can go and i can have just the one.

### "Great access management and identity service"

May 29, 2022

5.0

Great, we extensively use both Azure, the Microsoft Stack, Power BI and the Office 365 graph so AAD was a natural fit

Pros

Easy to configure, assign roles (or groups) to persons and/or apps. This case be easily reproduced using the API otherwise the front end is just as good.

Cons

In terms of the dizzying amount of permissions it can be tricky at times to know exactly which one/s you should apply for a given use case

Reason for choosing Microsoft Entra ID

We came from doing the user management manually - which was stressful and an unnecessary risk

### "The best solution for a Microsoft-heavy company. "

April 27, 2022

5.0

Pros

I like the main dashboard gives you alerts on upcoming major changes and remediation to avoid service interruptions. There is the seamless integration with on premise Active Directory that makes it easy to sync and migrate. The monitoring blade is great to show access with details on time, user, application, remote IP Address, location and MFA. I also like the separation and ease to create service principals or applications and lock them down to specific roles. I also like the feature of setting accounts as Guest so that you can furter restrict non company users. Overall one of the best ID management solutions for Microsoft shops. Great API and powershell documentation

Cons

No compains but I wish more security features that are hidden are brought and promoted in the GUI.

### "Cloud-Directory mit erstklassigen Zero-Trust-Funktionen"

June 11, 2025

5.0

### "Azure AD Review- 25"

April 19, 2025

4.0

It's a great experience to work on Azure AD. It meets all the requirements & I would give 9 points out of 10.

Pros

It's ability to centrally secure & manage user identities, access & authentication for various applications & services including the ones that are in cloud & on-premises. Cloud Centric & Scalable- Azure AD is designed for a cloud-first world offering seamless integration with Microsoft cloud services and SAAS applications and scales easily to accommodate growing organizations. Cost-Effective- Azure AD can be a cost-effective solution, especially for organizations that already use other Microsoft products like Microsoft 365.

Cons

Dependent On Internet Connectivity: Azure AD is a cloud based service, meaning it requires an internet connection for authentication & access to resources.

### "Great tool to manage Singe Sign-on/federated access within organization"

March 26, 2025

5.0

Pros

Allows smooth and easy connection for users and systems, via SSO. Allows easy user access management within the tool.

Cons

Azure AD access permissions provided by Azure could be reduced in number, as well as be a bit more clear on what each permission allows to do.

### "Azure Active Directory is the best way to manage your users accounts"

March 3, 2022

5.0

Pros

It's intuitive and easy to use, it's hosted in the cloud so there is rarely any downtime (if ever!). Groups and users can be set up in a matter of seconds and there are some more advanced settings such as conditional access policies, which make restricting access and enforcing multi-factor authentication very straightforward.

Cons

Azure AD can be expensive, especially if you have a lot of users and a large infastructure to manage and maintain.

### "Azure Active Directory"

January 25, 2022

5.0

Pros

we are as a company highly depend on this application to manage day today user creations and multi factor authentications. its cloud based and easy to access from anywhere and it really help me as an IT Administrator. and single sign on SSO is really help to manage all in one place. even you can check the login attempts by users with the location to take actions. granting rights and removing it from user is so easy with this. i highly recommend this app, it will really make your life easy. and the deployment of the rights taking effect to client in seconds which make our IT department look so efficient.

Cons

actually i didn't see any drawbacks or any least like areas on this application. this is worth for what you pay.

### "Excellent access management and identity management service"

June 9, 2022

4.0

Pros

It's simple to use and straightforward, and because it's housed in the cloud, there's rarely any downtime. Groups and users can be created in seconds, and some more complex features, such as conditional access restrictions, make controlling access and implementing multi-factor authentication quite simple. Azure AD aided us in integrating several technologies, managing access, and securing our identities. We suffered from service availability when utilizing Active Directory.

Cons

Troubleshooting technical difficulties by the Microsoft team may take some time, and obtaining the appropriate technical help may be challenging. With the dizzying array of permissions available, it might be difficult to determine which one(s) to apply for a specific use case.

### "Secure, Scalable, and Essential for Modern Identity Management"

April 26, 2026

5.0

My overall experience with Microsoft Entra ID has been very positive. It provides a strong foundation for identity and access management, with reliable performance and enterprise level security features that are essential in modern environments. It integrates well with both Microsoft and third party services, making it easier to manage users and access from a single platform. Once properly configured, it streamlines authentication and improves security without adding unnecessary friction for users.

Pros

What I like most about Microsoft Entra ID is its strong security and identity management capabilities. It provides centralized control over users, access, and authentication, making it much easier to manage permissions across systems and applications. The integration with Microsoft services and third-party applications is another major advantage. Features like single sign-on and multi-factor authentication help improve both security and user experience. It also scales well, making it a reliable solution for managing identities in growing environments.

Cons

What I liked least about Microsoft Entra ID is that it can be complex to configure, especially for more advanced features. Setting up conditional access policies and fine tuning permissions can take time and requires a solid understanding of the platform. Licensing can also be a drawback, since some of the more powerful features are only available in higher-tier plans. Troubleshooting issues is not always straightforward, either, as the interface and logs can be difficult to navigate without experience.

### "Microsoft Entra ID is good for an (IAM) solution, but support and interface management have room to improve. "

May 6, 2026

4.0

Microsoft Entra ID support has a lot of room to grow. Support is defiantly not a strong part of the company as a whole. You will get routed to multiple departments and will be lucky to find someone that knows how to troubleshoot the product and that can speak English.

Pros

The best part of Microsoft Entra ID as a cloud based identity and access (IAM) solution is the fact we no longer have to maintain the backend infrastructure, backups, and replication required to sustain the critical business logon requirements.

Cons

Microsoft Entra ID support has a lot of room to grow. Support is definatly not a strong part of the company as a whole. You will get routed to multiple detartment and will be luck to find someone that knows the product and can speak english.

### "Secure, Scalable Identity Management for a Complex Organisation"

April 29, 2026

4.0

Overall, my experience with Microsoft Entra ID has been very positive. It provides a reliable, scalable identity platform that works well in a large, operationally diverse organisation like a zoo charity.

Pros

What I liked most about Microsoft Entra ID is how well it balances strong security with ease of management in a complex, user‑diverse environment. In a large zoo charity we support a mix of full‑time staff, seasonal workers, volunteers, third‑party vendors, and cloud applications, and Entra ID makes identity management across all those groups both scalable and consistent.

Cons

The licensing model can be confusing, especially around Premium P1/P2 features. Advanced features like Conditional Access can be complex to design and troubleshoot. Changes in the portal and branding (Azure AD → Entra ID) caused some initial confusion. Troubleshooting authentication issues can be difficult without deep logging knowledge.

### "Powerful User Management and Integration"

January 22, 2026

Overall, my experience has been profound. The tool has set me up for success more times than not. While there was a large learning curve, once that knowledge was established, it was a breeze.

Pros

The most well rounded User management solution EVER. Working in an ever evolving access industry, having the ability to easily manage users is critical. Simple integrations with Active Directory and Intune are important in most business applications these days. Along with integration into business applications for SSO. Extremely powerful tool.

Cons

### "Reliable and poweful identity management platform for daily use"

June 13, 2026

5.0

Some advanced features can be difficult to understand at first, especially for new administrators. Licensing can also be confusing because certain security and identity features require higher-tier plans. However, these issues are relatively minor compared to the overall value of the platform.

Pros

Microsoft Entra ID has been very reliable and easy to manage. I use it every day for user administration, access management, and application integrations. The single sign-on experience works well, MFA policies are straightforward to configure, and integration with Microsoft 365 and Azure services is seamless. It saves a lot of time and helps maintain a strong security posture.

Cons

Some advanced features can be difficult to understand at first, especially for new administrators. Licensing can also be confusing because certain security and identity features require higher-tier plans. However, these issues are relatively minor compared to the overall value of the platform.
