System Analysis Construction Used the software for: 1-2 years ### "Bonus that comes with Office 365" December 5, 2023 4.0 Considering the basic version is included with a Office 365 subscription it has been an unexpected bonus. It has given our company a chance to experiment with a cloud based directory without having to fully abandon the setup that has work for years and most employees are familiar with. Pros Previous to signing up for Office 365 we used a on-premise active directory, using the tools provide it was easy to transfer our directory information over to the Azure Active Directory and have them work together in a hybrid mode. We have been able to slowly decrease the amount of on-premise servers had transition to cloud only at a pace we control due to this. Cons If you are using hybrid mode it can be a bit of a pain to set two way communication between Azure back to On-premise. Moving off this to Outlook/teams/sharepoint meant having a away to configure users to be able to access these easily. It meant group based sercurity and access, it meant SSO and MFA. All configured easily through AAD. Pros Being able to sync form my on premise AD means i can configure and provision users in one place and have their details available for M365 applications and powerfull tools such as password self service, MFA and SSO. Cons There are still some limitations that mane i cannot just have a fully cloud based AD platform. I still need locak AD on a server onnected with Azure AD.
