Pros The app works for the feature I use it for with ease. The app is full of features ready for you to unravel at your fingertips and play around with and discover. It’s also has been around for a while and is very well known and use in the authentication industry Cons The software since the making of this hasn’t seem to update is visual or designs. The app functionality works well but just hasn’t done much updates to its visual to appeal to the newer generation and just for people in general. MS Authenticator is also very flexible, different authentications can be done in which you are comfortable with like having authenticated thru SMS, call, or within the mobile app. Cons If you ever think of upgrading/replacing your device you must always do a cloud backup first or else you'll be locked out of your account. Pros When accessing sensitive data across the MS platforms, our users are forced to MFA with this auth app. Once its set up correctly - it's pretty easy to use. Cons If you lose or break your phone and you're not an admin on O365, its a nuisance to switch of off. Then resetting it up can be a little cumbersome but when it's set up, it works really easily. It's one of 10 or so MFA tools which our solution integrates with and customers seem to gravitate to it. Pros I like the fact that it's a free MFA option from Microsoft that I am able to suggest to our customers. I have seen numerous businesses set this up as the preferred MFA option in their deployments. Typically great for SMB to Mid Market customers as it's pretty straight forward to set up and works really well. Cons The only time I have come across negative feedback on this product from users is when the set up wasn't done properly in the first place. Fortunately I haven't had anyone try to access my accounts that shouldn't be, but having the authenticator has given me piece of mind that it is less likely to happen. Pros Microsoft authenticator has made keeping my accounts safe very easy. I have started using it for work purposes and personal purposes. It reassures me someone else is unable to access my accounts as it creates the short time pass code for the second authentication factor. Cons It is tough to say what I dislike about the authenticator. One day let's DNA and a thumb pressure print average. Pros I have a hard time coping with too many devices. It gives me stress but today's world pushes it on me as a involuntary yoke. Microsoft authenticator just had taken the burden out of it all. I really just love the ease and click, a number, a simple add of an account and presto. My problems are gone. Cons They have such a gap between this and google. I really want one day for Microsoft to own google, remove the adds, but adopt the search search engine. It would make my day to make them have no separate password service. Reason for choosing Microsoft Authenticator Lack of tech access Is the main reason.
