Authentication speed is decent with this app. I never felt any lag while using this app to authenticate my accounts. Pros Easy to use Simple and lean UI design I use this authenticator app for extra level of authentication(MFA) applied to my office 365 apps. Now, I no longer have to wait for SMS OTPs. Cons The only drawback of this app is that it is not very intuitive. Whenever I want to make changes or add new accounts I have to refer MS docs to find out the set up steps. Pros As we all know we should have 2 step verification for all your accounts to keep them secure. So, microsoft authenticator helps us to use this a 2nd step to verify our login. You easily set this up. Also it is very useful because there are situations when there is no network and you cannot receive sms at those situations also it can provide you a otp. Use it everywhere for added security on all of your accounts that support it! Cons Sometimes account setup can be picky. Pros It looks good and appears as if you're using an ultra modern method for utilising two - factor authentication. Cons It could be the way it has been implemented at our company, but it is unreliable. Pros Once it works, it's reliable, and the favourite part of this, is the option on your laptop to select remember me, so you don't have to log in again for the rest of your working day. Cons The difficulty to set it up, with the step by step sequence between your laptop and your mobile. Why did MS did not indicate on the screen, when asking for PIN, to say your mobile screenlock PIN? As it has nothing to do with the MSAuthentificator, it is your own Mobile screen lock PIN you had before. I had major issues, but once I had my laptop and my mobile both uploaded but locked, I had failed to unlock my mobile. I then switched off my mobile and my laptop overnight, the next day , I was told, why don't you try to add your own account again using your mobile. I did and keep trying selecting the QR code page to unlock the computer synchronization. then it worked. MS has a lot to learn about making a App user friendly. In this sense it is worth using, even if the previously reported cons are not so satisfactory at first. Pros In a simple and effective way, microsoft authenticator has its functionality very fast and practical for demanding users and without much time to spend many hours in front of the computer. May 26, 2021 5.0 Super easy to setup with the instructions from my company and eliminates the need for an extra token or fob since I have my phone with me all the time. Pros The ability of product to manage MFA for all kinds of accounts and to be able to use your finger print and confirm access without having to copy and type in text codes is such a time saver and much easier way to authenticate. Cons There are times I think when the time out goes a little quick and it takes me a few tries to authenticate, but it's not horrible. It has some features that I haven't really gotten too far into yet, but I would like to try if I could get it to work. Pros I really liked that it made it easy to log into my Microsoft account. I frequently change computers and I liked how easy it was to set up a new machine without having to remember a password. Cons For some reason, it stopped syncing. I can no longer sign in just by pushing a button. I've tried deleting the app and reconnecting it, but nothing works. After registering your account in the application, as soon as you enter your e-mail address to log in to your account, a confirmation notification is sent to the authenticator application on your phone, and you log in to your account with a single tap. The use of dual factor authentication should be extended to increase the security of the accounts. Pros In general, anyone can use Microsoft Authenticator because it is so simple. It's also completely risk-free! A simple utility that adds an extra layer of security to my laptop and phone. For 2FA (two-factor authentication) systems, you don’t have any security concerns. Microsoft Authenticator provides protections against stolen by pin or fingerprint. Cons If you change your phone, it will be a little difficult to recover your login details. Review Source IN Imri N. I've used Google Authenticator in the past which had glitches from time to time, but Microsoft did a great job here. Does it's job flawlessly for me. Pros It's really easy to set up and use the first time, so there shouldn't be any issues right out of the get go, as it's a really simple product. Cons If you are setting up MFA on a new device, it can kind of be a bit of a hassle depending on the administration settings, but other than that it's a pretty simple and easy product. Cons The fact you get stuck in a catch 22 loop of needing the app to generate a code for you to get into the app. End up having to talk to IT all the time and get them to reset it. It's ridiculous.
